I immediately went to customer service to get a members card. The sales that they had at this supermarket included buy one get one free, 50% off, and they even had a clearance section. When my fiancé came to visit me for a few days and we went food shopping she made a joke and said should we stock up to bring back to New York. Ok so it wasn't just me...lol The store is beautifully laid out, easy to find what you need and more from the produce to dairy to the meat section. And the customer service is pretty good. I wish they had this store in New York.

The place has many different types of food/services/meals to go/meal delivery etc and they redid the place so it's much better eye appeal aspect. I think not.

The cheeses are also interesting, lots of types of farmer's cheeses, kefir, butter, and yogurt. They do carry cakes, but they are not made in-house. Large assortment of canned and dried mushrooms and canned fish as well. And caviar! The freezers hold several flavors and brands of pelmeni and small dumplings. There is a prepared foods counter at the back, but we have never tried anything since most of it has meat in it (we are 2/3 vegetarian.) The only issue we have come across is that a lot of the ladies behind the cases will not speak English, or even attempt to try to communicate with you unless you are speaking Russian. My husban is Hungarian and remembers some from school, so they at least tried to understand him.

Opted for a taco wings/boneless wings & russet potato/parm rice (that I likely won't do this again) but still for $20.00 not a bad lunch plus staff knowing how to see you in the budget another bonus. Ambience is right & a guy near me had half a potato (couldn't fault him) but many people who reach here see why & pretty authentic Italian & other cuisines represented.

It's definately worth trying for the skeptics out there!…read more I highly recommend Aldi you can't beat their prices and the food is good quality...especially for things like milk, bread, eggs, butter, chips, snacks, cookies, nuts, cereal, baking needs, cheeses, toiletries and other non perishables like soups, stocks, rice & pasta. The fruits & veggies vary on quality so check them out depending on the season, but for the most part they are really good. I don't often buy my meats here, but I do like the organic chicken and have been very satisfied w/ it. Also the organic selection & gluten free throughout the store is quite good and great prices on organics & natural foods. (For those who dont know - Aldi is the sister company of Trader Joe's.) In the end I think I probably save about 30% off my bill over the local stores including Walmart! I go to Aldi first and then get any specific items I may want at Stop & Shop across the parking lot, or my local butcher. I also prefer Aldi over other discounters like Price Rite. Aldi is defiantly worth trying out. Also, dont forget to bring a quarter for the carriage and your own bags - No Worries if u forget - they will give a quarter if u don't have one... and u get it back when u return your cart...and I think the bags are like 7 or 10¢ each if you need to buy some!!

Like any other grocery store you should check perishables closely before purchase. I buy a lot of produce and try to buy my weekly needs all in one trip, I just schedule the highly personable produce for early in the week and save the hardier stuff for later. I have never been disappointed with the store brand, and will often buy it over its name brand counterpart. Over the years they have added more name brands to their offerings. The staff is friendly and hard working, give them a smile they smile back, take a moment and chat with them, always so polite.
