I like this store, There are 2 other stop & shop stores that are closer to my home, But I go here because the employees are friendly, cooperative and efficient. With the excepting of the Chubby girl on the curtesy counter, She comes across as lazy and the last time I had a minor issue she lied to me about why the problem occured, I had to ask her to explain 3 times before she told me the truth. This shopping experience definitely takes double the time than other supermarkets because a lot of the food on their shelves is expired. Definitely check dates before buying anything. I have mentioned this to the management and every time, it was an apology but nothing changes. It got to the point that I don't go in there unless u absolutely have to. We have been shopping at this stop and shop for about 5 years now. Sometimes we do online pickup (could be better) and sometimes we go in store (usually fine). What makes this store great is the employees. They are all so helpful and pleasant. Ryan (the cashier) is especially helpful, knowledgeable about the store, and so kind to our young daughter. I just now Walked out of the Store , Due to their Cashier ( the LOUD Young man who Clearly has some sort of Disability) I got to the Cash out and unloaded my BASKET , 10 items or less , To which he announced would I like to Buy any bags . My reply was NO Thanks I use the basket to get to the car . He THEN While yelling at me about jumped over the counter to SNATCH the basket from my hands !!! This place is boring and sometimes over priced. It's a good supermarket for just running in and getting a few items, but for long trips like when you have to get a whole bunch of items, this place can get stale. About 1/4 of the employees are friendly and nice people, while 3/4 of the workers are either a jerk or just weirdos. However, the store brand here is better than most store brands. So, this store has everything a supermarket should have, including a good location directly off the highway, but it is not as enjoyable as other grocery stores. read more

This is the smaller Stop & Shop with limited selections. I did my weekly grocery shopping with a friend here a few times it was OK. I don't know whether I like this one better or the Ringwood one they're both kind of small and limited but very similar. read more

Pharmacy is now permanently CLOSED. Not a good sign. Store must be losing business due to the new Lidl in Pompton Lakes. Besides, most of the employees here are unfriendly to say the least and the store is always dirty. I only come here if I desperately need something. It will soon be an empty building. read more

Poor selection of meats and for that fact poor selection of every thing. The prices are high. Take the extra time to to Walmart and shoprite. The prices are way better. Stop and Shop is just close so to grab a quick few things it's the only option. read more

This stop and shop is not horrible by any means, but it's far from great. Not a huge selection of things. And I love to make juice in the mornings and typically use celery in my green juices.... I bought probably 12 stalks of celery from this stop and shop .... 9 of them had worms in the stalks. DISGUSTING!!! Do not get produce here. I'd suggest going to a farmers market, or Giant Market in Oakland NJ. Avoid this produce.... read more

It's easy to get to, right off the highway. The parking lot is very large and wraps around the whole building. The store doesn't look great from the outside, but the inside is decent! I have noticed that all of the employees are really helpful. The prices are good and I always find what I am looking for. There are at least 6 self checkout lanes which is nice and there is a Redbox to rent movies and games as well. read more

My biggest complaint is that there is no shopping cart return. With no return area, shopping carts are strewn across the parking lot. It's hard to find a parking spot without the potential of a shopping cart hitting your car. If anything an employee should regularly be collecting carts and returning them to the store. read more

I'm a big fan of Stop & Shop - clean, well laid out, good promotions, solid meat department - my favorite grocery store chain in Jersey. My normal store is absolutely massive, but is far off the beaten path from my route home. Yet this location is RIGHT off of exit 55 on 287. Like, right at the exit. Like, you are on and off within 100 feet. Like, it's the most convenient grocery store if you're coming south on 287 I've ever seen in my life. Small parking lot, a bit limited assortment - minimal rice cakes, no smoked salmon (don't judge me!) - but for the staples will do the job. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This stop & shop has yet again missed the mark. I ran in because it's the closest grocery store and picked up some produce and salad ingredient's. Yesterday I went to cook the brussel sprouts I had bought and found bugs in about half of them upon cutting them in half but proceeded to eat the other half anyway. Today I went to make salads for my family with a "triple washed ready to eat salad mix" that had an expiration date 10 days from today. The lettuce already looked a little stale but it was what was on the menu for tonight so I threw out the rotting pieces and made a large salad for my family. While waiting for the chicken to cook for the salad I noticed a bug in the bowl and picked that piece of lettuce off and threw it out. Continued to wait and saw another. Again threw that piece out. After about 5 minutes the bugs were showing up everywhere and the entire salad with my toppings and all had to be thrown out. I then proceeded to get the container out of the fridge just to verify the source and sure enough saw small worms and other crawling bugs all over the lettuce which resulted in me throwing out all the produce stored on the same shelf in my fridge. I don't normally shop at stop and shop but I can honestly say i buy about 2-3 prepared salad mixes a week and have never seen this before. One bug here or there I understand but I have a hard time believing this was ever washed let alone triple washed considering almost every leaf had a bug on it. Just wish I had taken a picture when I saw about 10 bugs in my salad. I wouldn't recommend shopping here. read more

The store is fine to get grocery shopping done. The deli department however is horribly slow and prefers to take their time rather than take care of customer orders. Even when using the kiosk, then shopping in the store, my deli order is still not ready. read more

It's a small store for sure compared to other local supermarkets. I don't notice the shelves being empty except for some of the gluten free stuff once in a while. But I don't expect a ton of GF options/stock for a store this size. Not sure what some of these other people are talking about. I think the produce is lacking. Items seem to rot 2x faster than things I buy elsewhere. Sometimes the entire full tray of whatever item in the store is already wilting or soft. 1/10 deli people know the difference between thin, medium, and thick. I'm a kiosk guy because I don't feel like waiting, especially on weekends. I'll select medium, get turkey as thick as a ham steak. Select medium, and it's basically a bag of paper-thin shreds. C'mon guys. Otherwise, no complaints. I like their pre-made subs. They're not covered in a ton of onions and oil/vinegar like all other supermarkets. read more

Smaller store with some selections limited. Crowded isles and stocking going on also during a Saturday afternoon makes for a difficult time getting in and out of isles. Even with self checkout there never seems to be enough registers open. Solid location just off of I-287 has potential if it had the square footage to be a super stop and shop with wider variety. read more

I ordered for a piece of BelGioso provolone cheese from the deli. Please note there were about 10 fifteen pound blocks in the deli case and the deli employees said they didn't have one open and they cant open another one...Great way to accommodate customers especially during COVID 19 food shortage... I go to this store only because it's near my house. I dread going here because it's a miserable place to shop. The shelves are never stocked witch makes shopping very frustrating. When things are on sale they sell out very quickly and they never restock the shelves for the rest of the week. The staff are rude and never smile. The management doesn't seem to care. read more

Shopping there today was very Disappointing . I can understand not being able to restock during this time but few people were wearing masks. I brought disinfecting wipes to cleanse my cart. There were arrows on floor to promote distancing but few people followed . They walked where they wanted and seemed not to be aware that precautions were necessary. Employees were not wearing masks and those restocking were not safe distancing and were conversing with each other as if nothing was going on. Better guidelines need to be promoted in this store for everyones protection. read more

Terrible. Prices are high. I went in on one occasion and asked 5 people where something was and not one person could answer me. On another occasion I asked the deli counter to put paper in between my cheese layers as it is usually a big ump and it was an issue. Used to be a big fan of Stop & Shop, but alas their prices have increased quite a bit in recent past. Thusly, only come here if I am in a pinch and need something. Decent selection at this location and its conveniently located off 287. Recommend this place for staples like crisps, condiments, etc but I would go elsewhere for cheaper produce like a Farmers Market type of store. Same goes for meats. Remember getting ground bison from Stop & Shop for about 4.29$ a pound - now its close to nearly 10$ a pound! At that cost, might as well go to the local butcher and get ground lamb off the shank and use the bone for a nice soup and/or stew. read more

They should change the letters out side the building to stop and rot!!!!! I will say my one pro for this place. I find the staff very friendly that's all the good I have to say. Some one please tell me why 75% of the food I buy from there is rotten. I am officially never going there again. I have been done dirty for the last time. I am the idiot for continuing to go there, for the past year, because it was more convenient. Seriously though I can't tell you how many times I have bought something there, tried to use it that night or the following, and it was rotten. Specifically meat and produce. Today's assault was from organic chicken. I bought it last night. Grilled it today and every piece was sour and rotten. Checked the expiration date and I still have four more days. So why is my overpriced chicken rotten And sour? Yesterday was avocados that felt ripe on the outside but were black on the inside. A few days before that got a cucumber perfect on the outside and trashed on the inside. Definitely debating on calling the better business burrow. There has to be something wrong with the way they store their food. I have never gotten so much trashy meat and produce from one place before. This location is just Okay. The selection of all natural/health/vegan foods has a lot of growing to do. But they still have a few options.

This store should be ashamed of itself. I went there shortly after hurricane Sandy to to get some dinners for the week... 2 of the meats I purchased went rancid days before the sell by date, and the cheese was so spoiled that I had to throw it out the second I opened it. It seriously makes me wonder if they just left the food out the whole time the power was out. I have never gotten 3 bad/rotten items in one shopping trip in my life. I will never shop here again! Within the last few months, the quality of the perishables has been downright hazardous! From moldy rolls on the shelves, to bags of produce with at least one rotten piece of fruit or or vegetables in each bag, to meat that can give someone a serious bacterial infection such as campylobacter! A few weeks ago I bought a nice, juicy looking steak, brought it home and sliced it in half so I could grill some that day and save the rest. Well, the outside of the steak was red, but the inside was grey. Needless to say, I threw it out. Deciding to give them another chance, I stopped yesterday and picked up some cubed steak so I could make a stew. Again, the top layer of cuts was nice and juicy red, however, the meat underneath the top layer of chuck was completely grey and smelled terrible! I am tired of wasting money and risking my health to eat their sub-par selection of perishable items. I am done! Shop Rite, here I come read more
