Brief update: we were very pleased with the Stoneside roller shades installed in January, so we ordered another set for four big west-facing windows (4 feet by 10 feet) in our living room, that let in the full hot sun in summertime. We got the same configuration as before (see my earlier review for details) but with a different color and texture of fabric. Our designer for this one was Dana Liszewski and the installer was Scott Visger again. They both did an excellent job and we were happy to work with them. This job went faster than the previous one, taking about 6 weeks from initial contact to installation. read more

Wow - What an exceptional company! Everything was as promised or better! Carrie's initial visit to lay out our options and take basic measurements for the estimate was thorough, quick, and professional. Everything happened well within the time frames we were quoted, actually ahead of schedule. This company literally measures, then sends your installer out to measure again, then custom makes the product! Our installer Matthew went so far above and beyond that it's hard to believe that level of service still exists. He was early, professional, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Am glad I found Stoneside Blinds. While they are not the cheapest quote we received, they were worth the cost because of the excellent customer service provided by both the designer -Carrie Kaiser- and the installer - Chris Mackley as well as the quality of the product. Having had a really bad experience with a different company acting as a 3rd party ordering the products from overseas, I was pleased to learn that Stoneside makes their own shades in the United States. We desperately needed solar blinds as our huge west-facing cathedral window was absorbing so much sunlight that it was hitting over 100 degrees in our house over the summer. We contacted Stoneside and consultant Carrie Kaiser arranged an appointment. She is immensely helpful and knowledgeable and helped us choose some beautiful blinds to cut out the sunlight on hot summer days. Carrie's advice on color and style was excellent and we definitely appreciated her expertise. The window is enormous and as it is an old house, none of the sides are perfectly straight! Stoneside's installer Dan (The Blind Man LLC) was fantastic too. He spotted a small glitch in the blind fabric and immediately agreed with Carrie that they would replace the entire blind as it was not perfect. What was really impressive was that we hadn't demanded the replacement but Carrie and the company were adamant that it had to be flawless. It was agreed that another fabric was better suited to our immensely long windows and Carrie advised us on the perfect color to match our decor. The new blinds were installed promptly and look fantastic. When one of the cords snapped (again an expected hazard if you have absurdly high windows), I contacted Carrie and the installer Dan came out to repair the cord at no expense. I think Stoneside has wonderful products but what sets them above the competition is that if things do go wrong, their customer service is just fantastic. We love our solar blinds. They look beautiful and work brilliantly. We whole heartedly recommend Carrie Kaiser and Dan (The Blind Man LLC). read more

Great job! Professional and courteous. We had Carrie come in for the initial visit and Chris do the install. First off, this process can be very overwhelming but they made it easy. There are seriously thousands of combinations, no really thousands to pick from. We had done some research and told them what we needed and placed our order. Second, was the process of making the blinds and install. They came our right away to measure and said they would order them right away. No surprises here, it takes time to make custom blinds and were very upfront about the process time. Once they were made they came in and put them up. Chris showed us how to use them and gave us the proper operating instructions. We purchased three black out blinds for our bedroom. Will be calling them for another quote on our other windows once we get moved in. read more

The blinds themselves are the best we've ever had, from design to use to functionality. But their crew really sets Stoneside apart! I have waited months and been extremely patient rather than writing a review. I wanted Stoneside to live up to the reviews and the hype. The staff seems professional and friendly, and I was hopeful that the customer service people raved about would make it worth the higher price. Instead, I can only say that our service has been absolutely terrible. We ordered in February and in September we STILL do not have the correct blinds. We have booked and had to made ourselves available at the house for countless appointments, only to have the wrong blinds come time after time after time. They come broken, we have to wait. They come the wrong color, more waiting. The pieces are wrong, the motor doesn't work, etc. The first few mistakes we were patient and friendly, figuring we were just unlucky. We were assured that this "never happens." But now, MONTHS later, it has been such an enormous waste of our time and absolutely not worth the money. In addition, at some point the customer service seems to have just given up and it's been up to me to keep following up over and over to try to get them to fix the STILL WRONG blinds. It has been an awful, frustrating and disappointing experience and I don't think Stoneside cares at all. They seem to have given up, which is handy for them since they have all of our money. They have offered no recourse and I am so stressed out having to constantly be on top of them and of the situation. Do not recommend!! read more

The Stoneside team did a great job on our measurements and install! The suggestions given to us during the initial visit worked really well, and the installer was very professional and courteous. He gave me some pointers on how to clean and maintain the blinds and also told me about their warranty services. We had priced out our blinds at Home Depot, and though Stoneside was a little more expensive, it wasn't by much. I am very glad I spent a few extra dollars to have locally-made blinds that are not your run-of-the-mill blinds that everyone has in their home! Definitely not contractor-grade stuff; very well made! Our new stoneside shades look amazing. We just had our new blinds installed my Matthew, who was very professional and completed the install in a timely manner. He also went over the warranty and explained everything about our new shades. Carrie, our sales person, was very professional and assisted us in choosing the right shades for our home. Seriously one of the best customer service experiences I have had with a company. From the beginning with meeting Carrie and having her come to my home.....I had a few ideas but was really trusting her professional advice. It was like working with a friend that I had known for years. She is so easy to work with. Not only does she know wonderful design ideas but she will give you choices based on different looks and different spending levels. And no rush, just take as long as you want to work it through with her. Then the experience with Chris having him do the measurements and installation. What a great guy! Positive personality creates an enjoyable working situation. I was just comfortable with him in my home. I recently purchased a townhouse in Longmont, and I knew from the outset that I wanted top-down bottom-up cellular shades. I called Stoneside Blinds and another company, and Carrie with Stoneside was able to come out immediately for a consultation. I am so glad that she did, for she was knowledgeable and had a great sense of design and color, and really knew her product. I was so pleased I ordered blinds for all of my windows. I made a mistake with one room, and Carrie was able to help me correct that mistake, and all of the appointments were just as described in terms of time frame and expectations. The measuring and installation person, Chris, was also outstanding, just as Carrie said that he would be. He helped me with extra things, such as taking away some large cardboard cartons that I had been hoping to remove.
