FYI. was very disappointed to learn today that Stones does not engrave any pieces that they didn't sell. I went there because of several previous very positive experiences with them. They gave me a recommendation but it is in Geneva , I need somewhere closer to my home in Wheaton. Otherwise I do recommend them. read more

I wanted to upgrade my diamond for my 15th anniversary. Brad, the owner, showed me many options and walked my husband and I through the whole process. From start to finish the service and care was top level. I absolutely love my new ring and will trust Stones with any future purchases. read more

Several years ago I brought in a Raymond Weil W1 watch in to have the battery replaced. Since it had a seal they would not be able to do it in the store and it was sent out. I ended up getting a call a few days later to be told that it wasn't a battery issue, that it needed a new movement. I was somewhat suspicious but did not question it. Recently I brought in another watch, this time a Victorinox, to have a new battery put in. I observed the sales person struggle to get the case closed with the press, only for them to discover it was the wrong battery being installed. The correct battery was chosen, and attempted to be installed. It took multiple people working on it with the press to get the case closed. Once it was, the watch didn't work. It was sent off to be inspected. I've now been told this watch needs a new movement. I'll be going somewhere else to get batteries installed in my watches from now on. read more

The quality of their work is good. They are very expensive however.

Friendly staff and very accommodating! I have been going to Stones for many years. One of the best experiences I had was during my engagement. I had diamonds that I wanted to use from some relatives (including my great grandmother) so I took them to a place in Glen Ellyn. This place said it wouldn't look good and tried to talk me out of customizing my engagement ring with diamonds that meant something to me. I left discouraged and sad. I then took the diamonds to Stones. I told them my idea. They were so excited to customize something with such a sentimental meaning and gave me hope again. They made the experience enjoyable and took care of my husband and I every step of the way! I also got my custom wedding band and my husbands wedding band through them. They made my dream come true and for that I thank you! read more

Great customer service and quality jewelry! Always happy with the work they do, I have had several pieces repaired. Super job every time!

I went here because it was recommend by a moms group on Facebook. I needed my engagement and wedding rings resized (UGH) and they needed to be appraised since I haven't done this since I received them (yikes, no bueno!!) They were very professional here, they checked my GIA numbers prior to taking in my ring and giving it back. My rings fit perfectly after they were resized and they were sparking!! I wish I could get them cleaned all the time. The appraisal came back and I was happy with it, shocked actually but glad I have it for insurance purposes. If I need my rings resized (hopefully back to normal) then I would definitely come here to do it! read more

Great service and knowledgeable. I have had a number of pieces taken care of here and I trust them with my jewelry.

Lovely store with the most kind and helpful people. They have sized an old ring for my beautiful 16 year old granddaughter and cleaned up a pair of diamond earrings replacing backs for her too. They understand sentimental people who love jewelry for what it stands for and it shows. read more

I took my wedding band and engagement ring to be repaired here. I received many recommendations on a Facebook post with lots of people saying to go here for jewelry repairs. I brought in my wedding band jacket piece that cracked. Brad offered multiple solutions to fix my ring. His knowledge and expertise were very apparent. When I picked up my ring set, I was SO happy with it! The repair was great and the quality of work done was better than new! This is my new trusted jewelry store for purchases and repairs. Very pleased with their customer service and repair work! Highly recommend! read more

I brought in a topaz ring I bought 30 years ago.The stone was loose and I was afraid to wear it, as I had already lost a stone from a ring. They fixed it, cleaned it and resized it. I wear it all the time knowing the stone won't fall out. Stones Jewelers are the best of the best. Glad we have them right in downtown Wheaton. read more

I have taken jewelry in twice to Stone's now for appraisals and we were thrilled with the turn around time and price. I loved the fact that they do everything in house and my engagement ring wasn't going to be sent out to who knows where for who knows how long. I highly, highly recommend and will be returning for any future needs. Plus the staff and owner are so nice, its very refreshing. read more

I love Stones Jewelry! I no longer live in the area, but, after many years of consistently stellar customer service, I often wait to buy jewelry or get it repaired until I am in town again so I can bring it here. I started coming here when I was a student on a very limited budget and just needed a place to get my engagement ring cleaned. I so appreciate that the people working here have always been kind and helpful, whether or not they would make any money from helping me. It has kept me coming back again and again over the years, and I highly recommend a stop here if you are looking to buy jewelry or need repairs. You'll be glad you stopped in! read more

I took some pieces in for appraisal. They were timely and very reasonable priced for the appraisals. I called other jewelers and they were 10 times as expensive for the appraisals. I would strongly recommend them. Their staff was friendly and professional. I would use them again. read more

Just went in to have a ring resized. Went in they told me it would be $60 as the ring "had a two small cracks in the gold". Then I agree to the resizing at that price with a fix of both of the "cracks in the ring". They told me it would be repaired in a week. Anytime I have a had a ring resized they usually do it while you wait or within minutes. They called the same day four hours later and tell me they needed to remeasure as the size they had down was incorrect. Mind you this is while the owner is watching and agreed to the price and watched the transaction and sizing. My wife and I returned and then they said that the ring was actually measured as size X. They then said the size was measured incorrectly and it would be more $ to upsize the ring. My wife kindly asked for the price and a discount due to the inconvenience. The young girl who was helping us at the time said rather abruptly that the owner is aware and she will speak with him. He said no reduction in the price and actually the new price would be $125. I immediately took the ring and I will go to jewelers row. I would have to say that it was 1. rather inconvenient to come back 2. it would have been a long wait for a simple resizing by a jeweler and 3. I have a tremendous amount of experience with jewelers and actually watches and jewelry. I knew I was being way overcharged and walked out on the spot with my ring. M read more

Such a nice place and nice people! They open at 9 which is earlier than most places and I like. It seems like 10 is so late to open when you get up at 6! This is located on Front Street in downtown Wheaton, so you have to park in the street. Opening at 9 avoids the whole parking problem unless Starbucks is packed. I haven't bought any major jewels here, just had a watch repaired, but the service people were very attentive. I had a toddler with me and they were very cool about him wandering about. Some places treat him like he has a disease or he's a shoplifter and they follow him around and make disapproving noises. I've gone in here on a sunny day just to window shop and they were not swarming around me like other places I've been. It's just a nice experience. The only way it could be nicer would be if I had some cash to buy some bling! read more

I have had several things repaired in the past that were O.K.- but my last was a disaster! I am still upset everytime I look at the ring. The items I have repaired were non-gem stones in silver - which they always warn you may change due to the heat. This last one I specified in writing that they take out of the setting to avoid that. They did not - stone and setting were damaged and manager seemed shocked that I did not think the "repair" was worth paying for. don't take natural stone and silver to them! read more

I don't often write reviews, but felt the need after such a great experience at Stones with the help of Brandon. My wife and I visited Victoria precovid and she wanted a couple of pieces of jewelry but wasn't sure at the time. Fast forward to the present, I wanted to purchase them as a gift, but only somewhat remembered the pieces as they weren't on the website (given that it was a few years ago). I called the store and Brandon answered. He was extremely kind and patient and was able to locate the pieces very quickly. Given that I'm in the US, Brandon texted me photos of the jewelry to make sure we got the order right. It was by far one of the best customer experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend Stones, and if Brandon is there, you're in good hands! read more

My family has been coming to Stones for at least 20 years.. They have many beautiful and unique pieces, and they also create pieces too.. I had the diamond from my mom's original engagement ring and I wanted to do something with it- but not make it look like an engagement ring.. With the help of Dave (the owner), we created a ring with the diamond and two sapphires that I get soo many complements on. I've never seen a piece like it! Also, I've received two other diamond necklaces and diamond studs from Stones- both quality, and the perfect sparkle! They also have a nice selection of men's watches (which the boyfriend plays with everytime we're in!) the staff is very helpful, attentive, and knowledgable about their products. FYI: Not open Sunday read more

I took two watches in to get batteries replaced. They fixed them within a few days, no problem. They even replaced it on the knockoff watch I received from a family member who bought it in China. We had a good laugh about it, but they never made you feel bad about buying a cheap watch. They also had links taken out to fit my wrist. Each piece of work was $5, which is a bargain in this day. I only wish they were open a little later, but their hours are on their Yelp page. That's awesome! read more

Just Had my rings appraised and they went above and beyond by inspecting and researching my main diamonds serial number (was a gift stone), the appraisal came back 50% more than the previous jewelry store who charged me almost double to appraise (plus I got a cleaning and it was still less). I'm so lucky nothing happened to my ring, I just cannot believe how dishonest the other jeweler is (glen Ellyn jeweler). The service has been great used them for cleaning and plating before. read more

My elderly mother-in-law started giving get jewelry away to family members about a year ago. She gave me a beautiful diamond ring. Unfortunately, it did not fit me and I just put it in my jewelry box. My mother-in-law passed away Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. We knew it was a long shot but we brought it to Stones on Black Friday. We explained the situation and told them I would love to be able to wear it to the wake and funeral on Monday and Tuesday. Well, Jackie was just great and brought it to Tom, and asked him if it could be done. Tom said he was going to do his best. I needed it substantially larger and sometimes that changes the shape of the ring. He wanted me to be happy with it and be able to wear it. An hour and a half later we got the call that it was ready. It's absolutely beautiful and my husband and I just cried. I can wear it now for my mother-in-law!! Thank you so much Tom and Jackie. You made us very happy. The woman who waited on us when we picked it up was very sweet too. Very kind people. We will give all our business to them. Sincerely, Jim and Liz Vandivier read more

Update to review: STILL only 1 star and I would give 0 if I could. After OVER TWO WEEKS, we are closing in on THREE weeks now...I finally got my rings back. And guess what? These people screwed it up!! It is now even smaller than it was! Seriously??? How do you resize a ring WRONG? I have small fingers, but this ring set still needed to be sized a half size UP...and these people resized it a half size DOWN! How the hell do you screw that up????! Now I have to take it back....again....and have them keep it for who knows how long since they are not forthcoming with how long it is going to take to resize (and fyi...it doesn't take nearly THREE WEEKS to resize a wedding set) and hope they are capable enough to size it correctly this time! It seems their "goldsmith" is completely incompetent. I will also NOT be paying for this to be sized...again!! Since you all messed it up to begin with! I went here because the reviews were so good...and now it seems that they pay shills to go online and leave positive reviews because this has NOT been my experience! Actually do the work and COMMUNICATE with your customers!! They have had my wedding and engagement rings now for two weeks to resize and I can't get anyone to tell me when it will be ready. I had my doubts when I first went in and was ignored for 15 minutes until one of their employees lowered herself to get up from behind her desk and acted like she would rather be ANYWHERE else. The rings were not bought there and that was the first thing I asked, was if they resized jewelry that wasn't bought there. I was given a strange glare and told "Why don't you go back where you got it" well since it was bought online by my husband we can't get it resized "there". I really should have left right then and there and gone somewhere else but I left my rings there anyway because the reviews of this place were so good. They did call me with the estimate to resize...after almost a week(! seriously???), which was quite high, and then hung up on me when I asked when it would be ready after I authorized the resizing. I have left 3 messages now having just left the third one, since they won't answer the phone, and not one person has called me back. Why? I don't know, but they have my jewelry and for some reason don't want to give it back. Seems this store is only about what they can gouge out of people rather than providing good customer service. And the funny thing is, they can't get their gouged prices if they won't give the customer back their property! Why would they hold a person's wedding ring set and not give them any information about when it will be done even return a phone call? read more

Stones has been amazing to work with over the years. Most recently, my husband and I got my engagement ring, my wedding ring and my husband's custom design wedding ring. Not only were they fantastic to work with, but very knowledgeable throughout the whole process. The people there truly care about the work they do and the people that come in. Some of the negative reviews on here are absolutely ridiculous. Some people just look for the negative in life and it shows. Stones does the highest quality work and works with the highest quality material. That takes time and money. They are trustworthy and dedicated- and I couldn't recommend them enough! I got a ring re-sized here. It took them a long time to re-size it, and then the cost was much higher than they stated. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because maybe my ring was more difficult than they originally thought. But then another family member took something there to get fixed, and it took a very long time and then the cost was much higher than they originally stated again. I don't like that they were not straightforward with either of us. It must be how they do business, so I won't be going there again. Both of our experiences were similar. Differing costs, and the job taking too long. We both also felt unwelcome in the store by the staff. Maybe they just don't like the looks of my family. read more

Thought the watch I brought to them just needed a new battery, turns out it needed to be cleaned. I decided not to spend the $100.00 or so dollars to have that done since the watch was less than $200.00 to begin with, but I was happy they looked into it with their external repair guy and was able to provide a quote. read more

I at first bought a set of new clasps here for some pearl earrings. Within 4 weeks, the clasps were loose and the earring has fallen out twice. Fortunately, we found them around the house instead of out and about, or else we would have just lost them. So, I took the clasp that was loose back to Stones Jewelry to get them fixed. Everything seemed fine until I went to retrieve them. The lady that handed back the earring told me that they fix them free of charge this time, but next time I will have to pay to get them tightened again. What? They were loose within a month after I bought it from you! And I almost lost the earrings because of that! Why would I need to pay again if it wasn't loose from age, but fault of manufacturing? I tried explaining that the clasps came this way, but the lady just said that they become loose over time so we will have to pay. I've had bought many earrings over the years and i have NEVER had clasps become loose so fast. Maybe I'm the odd one out to feel that I shouldn't have to pay to get them fixed if it's from a faulty product and not wear and tear. I mean, I'm not expecting them to do this free of charge for the rest of my life! But, I definitely think that they should still fix it if it becomes loose within a couple of months. read more
