One year ago, we asked Altobello if my wife's Ebel could be repaired since it was losing time. They…read morewould have to send it out since it's a special seal case. We agreed and settled on a price of$650 for the repair. It took approximately 4 weeks before we got it back. What we did not notice was the nob could be pulled and pushed to set the time, but the nob did not screw flush with the case. When I returned today to have it repaired to have the nob fixed, they rudely said that that issue was not part of the repair. Then the said the nob never screwed in. At that , I reminded them the nob had a slot for the screw driver to tighten the nob. Then they went to the web site to tell me the watch did not have that quality. I'm not sure what website they used, but there is no way of getting technical information without a phone call or email. I'm now in the process of contacting a licensed Ebel repair group to get it properly repaired. Frank treated me well initially, but the remaining staff did their dampest to blow me away with sales speak. I've been around too long to not know when I'm being handed garbage.

I am unfamiliar with the history of these sets from generations past, and though I am grateful to have them, they are simply not needed! I brought many pieces into AAA on each visit,I was initially a bit intimidated and nervous to pursue the route of selling, that went away immediately as the entire experience could not have been more kinder, informative and honest! This little spot on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove is very welcoming! I sold many pieces and was able to leave with payment right away which was a delightful surprise! Hoping to find more Treasures and I will definitely continue to return to this fabulous place! Kay

The first time we went in, Jim was very thorough with how the customization would work, timeline, etc. we decided quickly that we wanted to get our bands done here. My fiancé found his band here as well, and they had an amazing selection of men's bands! They kept up updated throughout the process of the customization. We were both able to find our dream wedding bands at AAA! Highly recommend anyone needing any type of jewelry; whether it's wedding rings, or trading in any jewelry, this is the best place to go!

BTW, the earrings were NOT purchased here. It took a week for the repair to be completed. I worked through this transaction with Peggy. I would not trust your watch to get serviced properly …read more.. I did give these guys a shot last year replacing the band. While it took days if not weeks longer than expected, I had no reason to fault them specifically. This time, I needed a new battery. According to Tissot, the time difference and hand lag (pictured) is due to improper battery changing sequence and/or incorrect battery. When I called to let Castello know, and find out next steps, the manager Michelle was fairly rude and defensive instead of helpful and understanding. She said things like: "we change 20 batteries a day" "I have worked here for 30 years" "I have sold 100 of these watches" "We have sold Tissot for 40 years" and sooooo many other things like this instead of "let me find out about that" or "I will take care of that for you". She did come close with "we will send it to Tissot for you and report back with how much the repair will be" ....yikes. I said I was ok paying for anything not related to their apparent lack of experience changing batteries in a T-Touch, but there was no offer to stand behind their work, as I read the wrong battery can "fry" the watch, whatever that means. One last Michelle quote:(she does love to argue and be defensive) her: "Is the watch working" me: "yes" her:" that means the battery is good" LMAO I even did a little homework, emailed it to her, and asked if the battery brand used or sequence was followed. She thought the idea was absurd that she read that email from me, when all I wanted was to find out how or if they could help rectify the situation. I visited today to get my $25 back, and decided just to send to Tissot for repairs myself. A LOT more words from Michelle, most of which contradicting her statements form our phone call like "I said I would take care of it" "we have sold Tissot for 35 years" "I have worked here 31 years" etc. but no $25. They are out here just stealing money at this point lol. I will see what Tissot comes back with and if the battery was the cause of any damage, I will return for Costello for them to reimburse and hope they come to their senses and do the right thing. Stay tuned for my updated review!!

I brought in a number of inherited family watches . I wanted to to see if they could be fixed There…read morewas only one they said could be fixed. It was an old Clinton. I found out from a reputable company. , They didn't fix it. They replaced the original mechanism which was wind up with a new battery operated mechanism . That's not what I wanted. I want the original to be fixed. There's nothing I can do about it now the old mechanism is gone. It needed a new strap. I told them what I want. They chose the strap and put it on. The first one didn't fit. I brought it back They exchanged it. The second one didn't fit either I'll be bringing it in for an exchange. In the meantime, the crown fell off the watch. Luckily, I found it. I'll be bringing it in for that to be put back on. I also brought in my gold Tag watch for repairs. The issue with that one was also the crown. They replaced the crown with what they said was a tag crown. It still was not working I could not change the time. In order to change the day and time you have unscrew it then pull out the crown twice a little bit for the time then a little bit more for the date. I brought it back in. It was still under the year warranty. They sent it out to their watchmaker again. It came back with a different crown. The new crown second one was way too big. It was obvious when you looked at it. It barely fits in the opening, and you still cannot unscrew it then pull it out to change the time and date. I happen to be in Las Vegas I had the watch with me I was brought it to Tourneau, for those who don't know , that is one of the most reputable Swiss watch companies there is. They looked at my watch, of course said I should've brought it to an authorized tag dealer. Lark's watch repair did such a poor job. They said there were two screws missing on the inside. The crown was the totally wrong one for my watch and it had not been resealed and was very susceptible to getting water in it . overall lark did a terrible job on my Tag and I feel scammed me on my Clinton. I had paid $200 for the original repairs for the Tag . I don't remember what I paid for the Clintons " repair "bringing it to an authorized tag dealer probably would've cost me $500 to $700. I am now passed the one year warranty date. I'll be bringing both watches back in hoping to get my $200 back, so I can have the money to send it to somebody who knows how to fix a Tag watch. I'm sure they can replace the crown on the Clinton, but nothing can change my disappointment that there is a modern mechanism inside my vintage watch.

Highly recommend Larc for both jewelry repair and new purchases. I've gone to them for resizing,…read morerepair, etc., and never been disappointed. Very friendly as well. I just wish I had more of a budget to sweep the store.
