I told him I wanted a "neutral grey" theme for the walls and new rug (realtor's recommendation), and left the rest to him. His color choice was perfect, the installation was superb, the entire job was flawless. The room was converted to added living space for the new owners, with new, recessed lights in the ceiling, wall-to-wall carpeting and nicely painted walls. He even solidified a window sill that had been an issue for the 30 years we lived in the house. Can't recommend Berks Handyman highly enough. Very nice guy who knows what he is doing. His pricing is remarkably fair; the work superb. Try him; you'll like him!

He helped me make sure I ordered the right doors. He picked up everything at Lowe's, and sent pictures before he left to make sure that I was satisfied with how everything looked. The job was started and finished on time. He provided updates and pictures. He also noticed that the overhang by the back door was askew. He pointed this out and was willing to fix that also. The weatherstripping on the back door had always been a little discombobulated. I did not mention this, but when I got home Phil had gone ahead and fixed it. The entire job was done above and beyond my expectations. Everything was also completed for a little less than the quote! That was a pleasant surprise. I definitely plan to hire Phil again! All this being said, I give Phil my highest recommendation and suggest that you hire him too!

Thank you again and will definitely use them again for another project.

Here's why you should not use this company: 1- He…read moreovercharges. I paid $650 for staining the deck and Sharp Stream Power and Washing quoted $500. I'd already given the job to Gifford so I honored it. I should have known that if he were available immediately, it was a bad sign. 2- Not trustworthy. I contracted him for the job remotely and he said that he has 40+ years of experience and would be on-site. He said that he runs his own business and to trust him. The interior painter who also runs her own business and WAS on site said that he dropped off 2 guys in his truck and drove off. 3- Didn't finish the job. When I went up the day before listing the property, I noticed 1- his guys didn't paint behind the stairs. 2- There was a piece of lattice that had fallen off, gotten muddy and his guys JUST PAINTED OVER THE MUD and left it on the ground. His response was "It was like that before we started as well. We stained it propped up" Really? His guys don't think they should prep a sruface before painting it and just hammer one lattice in? I had someone I trusted there doing other work so I paid that guy $100 to correct these things and repaint the bench and deck finials which also didn't look great. I sent pictures to Gifford asking him for reimbursement (not even $100 but what he thought was fair). He didn't respond. 4-Unprofessional. Before he started the work, he mistakenly sent me a text meant for his buddy about "Coatesville women" - you can read between the lines. I should have known then.
