Okay - an acceptable choice for the Huskisson area. Living in Sydney, we are spoilt for choice and are truly blessed when it comes to restaurants, cafes and bars so coming to Jervis Bay it can be hard to find something that compares to Sydney standards. The concept is novel - cook your meat on a hot stone! Raw meat is served on a fire hot stone (don't touch!) and it's up to you to cook it as much (or as little) as you like. Because you cook your own meal, there is hardly any waiting time for the food. A bit concerned about the safety / food poisoning associated with not cooking the food for long enough and using the same utensils on raw and cooked meat. Decor reminded me of a Sizzler out of the 90s. Our group had the set menu, which came with an entree, main and dessert. - The garlic butter prawns (entree) were drenched in butter - a heart attack waiting to happen. - The crumbed chicken was fried and was not something I would order ordinarily, but for the set menu. - The steak (main) was high quality and a good cut. It was tender and smelt great after being cooked on the hot stone. - The serve of seafood (another choice of mains) was stingy - one measly prawn, one mussel, one scallop and one small fillet of fish. - The slice of cheesecake tasted like frozen cheesecake that had been thawed and then baked.

Not too many nice places to dine around jervis bay but this central located restaurant is brilliant. Cosy environment with friendly staff, the restaurant is definitely not a bad choice When trying something different. Food is simply delightful with generous size. We chose 3 course meal for $32 pp, great value!

    Our dinners.

Avoid. My steak was undercooked , and the weird plate it was served on - was too hot to touch.

This is the restaurant inside Paperbark Camp, it is open to everyone but am guessing most people…read moreare guests of the camp. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast and dinner both times. The dinner is amazing, it is set menu but it didn't matter what was on the menu as every dish was delicious. Breakfast was solid enough, a cooked option as well as a small buffet selection. The balcony seats are great, looking out into the trees and watching the mosquitos dance along the edge (they provide repellant and it didn't have an effect on dinner at all). Service was a bit too laid back but nothing that caused issues.

Only open to the hotel guests…read more Breakfast is a joke: yeah, it's good, but it's not great as anything you could make at home unless you obviously can't cook to save your life. It's not bad. But they have assortment of breads, fruits, juices, some teas, coffee. And then you can get a basic or a special of the day. I tried the special each morning. It was interesting and good, but not as good as something my Uncle could easily whip up for me. One morning, the fish in the special was just too much.. My only only complaint was that on my last morning, the young blond chick helped out someone else when I arrived a long time ago and she knew and she had nothing to do. Of course she helps out the white guy, but not the Asian mixed white girl.. maybe it wasn't a race thing, but if someone got there first: wouldn't you help that person unless they didn't need anything.. Aside from that: no other complaints. Dinner: Monday and Thursday (same menu), Tuesday and Friday (same menu), Wednesday and Saturday (same menu), Sunday: Paella night. 70 bucks for 3 courses, 55 for vegetarians, and and Sunday is 65 (all per person). What I actually ate.. Night one: Entree: Confit duck, baby leeks, parmesan, puffed quinoa, lemon myrtle vinaigrette Main: Local fish, mango & papaya salad, blackened onions, dashi Dessert: Smashed tropical pavlova Night two: Local fish, mango & papaya salad, blackened onions, dashi Entree: Kangaroo carpaccio, roasted tomatoes & goat's cheese ^too raw and gamey for me, a bit tough. Beautifully done, but not for me Main: Moroccan chicken supreme, red quinoa, olives & caper berry salsa ^they called it the moroccan sasquatch.. it's just a small chicken, but we all thought it was some exotic bird before finding out. It was my favorite part. Super delicious. Dessert: Chocolate mousse, wattleseed & chocolate crumble, berry jelly & cherry swirl ice cream ^too cherry for me, kind of gross. Each night we had a tiny tiny (think shot cup) for soup. One night was mushroom and another night was pea soup. Both were really divine. Dinner overall is good, some things aren't my favorite.. I wish I could've gotten a Thursday or Monday dinner just to sample that out though.

World famous fish N Chips? The owner must be pretty bold to put up a name like that :)…read more I had the barramundi and chip. Not the best I had - not enough salt on the chips and the fish was really oily. The underside of the fish was soggy because the batter was soaking in oil. bleh. However, it is probably the better choice amongst the food options in Huskisson. We waited about 20 mins for our food on a winter weekend......so I cannot imagine what it would be like in the summer.

What's a beachy town without a token fish and chip shop ... and a world famous one at that? HA…read moredon't know how world famous it is, but what I can tell you is BEST CHIPS in all of Jervis Bay. Moey-ed on in on a Saturday arvo and this place was full to the bream .. couldn't believe we had the opperchtunaty to try Hussky's world famous fish - ok enough of that !! So they have a load of fish on display, ranging from whole marlins to salmon all the way through to the standard white flesh fillets of dory, barramundi, perch, ling, snapper and the ever tasty trout. In addition to fish, they have the standard prawns, calamari and squid. I couldn't go past the special of the day - grilled dory with chips for $12.50 and for $5 extra, a large container of salad. Make sure to tell the crew if you want dressing in the salad (they won't ask), or if you want sauce (get the chilli mayo for your chip dipping pleasure). Speaking of, if you don't go ahead and ask for chicken salt on your chips (cause yet again, they wont ask) - I'm sorry but are you on drugs? As far as I'm concerned, chips with normal salt just don't cut it !!
