In my feeble attempt to wash away the remnants of 2020, my washer broke. Great way to start 2021, right? I started doing my research and quickly feel into an Information Overload pit. I was so confused about which washer to buy, I actually had a mini-breakdown over all the information. Impeller or agitator? Front load or top load? Were the government regulations over water levels still in place? It was overwhelming. Every store where I stopped to shop wanted to oversell everything- warranties, delivery, all that stuff. Every place wanted to charge an outrageous fee to deliver, install and take away my old machine locally. I drove to Stoneback and a very nice man named Andy helped me so much. He answered all my questions and he did not try to oversell me. He showed me just what I needed and nothing more. Better still- no charge for delivery, installation or take away. And he did not try to pressure me into a warranty. I had to ask him about the warranty. WOW. The other man who helped me was Jimmy. He was so nice and he even scheduled delivery for the same day as my purchase. He said the drivers should be at my place between 4-5 pm. They showed up at 4:05 pm and were as nice and professional as can be. They were very courteous young man. They did not waste time on their cell phones when we had to wait for a third party. I was impressed with their thoroughness, advice and help. Could not be happier with the sales and installation of my new Whirlpool. I will never mess with Big Box stores again. I am so sad to write this review. I have been a fan of Stoneback since my dad started doing business with them in the 1970's. Sadly, they have changed along with the quality of the products they sell. We bought a very expensive ($1000) GE Cafe series dishwasher from them. After only two years , and of course it was out of warranty, the touchscreen stopped working. When I called Stoneback, they said, "We don't service that unit because we have not bought the device needed to read the codes and diagnose it". Called a place in Kansas City, and the repair is going to be $500 or more. Stoneback is full of nice people, but it is clear continued support of the products they sell is a low priority. read more

Jim came to my house to repair my washer. When he told me it was shot he didn't charge me for coming out. He sent me pics of ones with the same features and gave me a great deal on a used one. He delivered it the next day after business hours. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend these guys!!! read more

I had called the service dept to schedule a service. I described my issue, gave the model number and told him the very specific pieces needed to fix the issue and he said they would order them. I waited nearly 3 weeks for the repair tech to show up WITHOUT the parts needed. 5 minutes later he told me they could order them and I could it the repair myself. Not the greatest experience, now my washer has been broken for over a month and I am no close to fixing it then I was before. Won't be calling again, and I still have to pay the service fee. read more

In mid September, my three-year-old dishwasher suddenly stopped draining. I bailed it out (literally with a turkey baster), cleaned the filter, and tried again. No dice. So I called one of the two local plumbing companies I use to come see if it was a plumbing issue; it wasn't, but the plumber said he uses Stoneback, so I called them next, leaving a message. A couple of days later, a man named Jim called and I stopped by the store to make an appointment for a tech named Rick to come out a few days later. Rick showed up on time and after poking around for a few minutes, told me I needed a new pump, and he'd need to look it up back at the store. After a couple of days of not hearing, I texted, was told the part had not been ordered, and was quoted a total price of about $230. Jim called about a week later and said the part was in, so we made an appointment for Rick to come back out. The day he was supposed to come back, he texted that the part actually wasn't in. I didn't hear anything, so I texted again, asking about the part. That was on 10 October. Radio silence. I still have not heard back. A week later, I called Jim, left a message, did not hear back. My husband called a couple of days later and Jim told him he'd gotten an empty box and it would be a few more days still. Fed up, I called AGAIN on 23 October, my son's birthday, and left yet another message. Jim called back a few hours later, told me my dishwasher was manufactured in 2001 (the damn thing is three years old), the pump wasn't available, he couldn't help me, I needed a new appliance. I called Steve's Appliance Repair. They came out yesterday (we had some severe family illnesses). Within an hour of Cody's arrival, my dishwasher was running perfectly. The culprit? The weird ass seeds that were blocking the pump. I never needed a new pump and even if I did, SAR had already located one in Des Moines (SAR uses eight distributors, while Stoneback only uses one). TL;DR My family of four was without a dishwasher for over a month because Stoneback wanted to me to believe I needed a new dishwasher. read more

Being old and hard of hearing I found this firm's representative "Richard" to be quite rude. While on the phone I asked him to slow down his speaking so that i could understand. He then hung up on me. As a result I chose a different professional service vendor. I cannot speak about the work quality as I did not employ the firm. read more

My property management company uses this company to service my dishwasher and while my previous experience with them was simply "ok" this last time was pretty disappointing. Rick arrived and took a look at my leaking dishwasher, turned it on to see where the water leaked, and then said it needed to be replaced. After he left, the dishwasher started leaking very badly. I texted him (about 45 minutes after he left) to let him know it was leaking super bad. He said that my property management company should take care of it and get a plumber out there. Isn't Stonebeck's job to repair appliances!?! Or at least stop them from leaking? It was very upsetting have to constantly clean the leaking water (had to use like 15 towels). My property mgmt co came over and took care of it thankfully, swapping out a hose as a quick fix to stop the leak and then ordered a replacement. Very disappointing. I hope they didn't charge my owner for that visit! read more

I found everyone working here to be very kind and incredibly helpful. They helped me replace my old rusty dishwasher racks at an affordable price. Much better than any online parts store would have cost!!! Saved me a bunch, thank you! They were wearing masks and courteous as well. read more

I cannot recommend locally owend and opperated, Stoneback Appliance highly enough! I've been a loyal customer since they quickly found and delivered an affordable used washer/dryer set to me, when I was 9 months pregnant, on a tight budget, and determined to be able to do laundry at home before my first son was born, in 2010. We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher from them a couple of years ago. Great service, no problems. Now I am in the market for a stove - and suddenly, right before Thanksgiving, because my old stove died unexpectedly. I've ordered a new one from Stoneback. Stoneback gave me a great price and I note that it is $250 less than that same stove at Home Depot which is having a big sale but not on that model. Even though it's short notice and it's their busiest time of the year, Stoneback is moving heaven and earth to make sure I have a stove for Thanksgiving Day. I wouldn't even dream of getting service like this from one of the big box stores. I won't buy appliances anywhere else than Stoneback. They have earned my loyalty. read more
