This company was hired to complete a pest inspection prior to my escrow closing. I called immediately when the inspection was scheduled to provide payment over the phone. I spoke with a woman at the front desk and gave my card information at that time. After the inspection was completed, I received the report via email. I replied to confirm with Kevin that my payment information had been received. He responded confirming that it had and stated he would charge my card once he returned from working out of town. I continued to check my account, but the charge never appeared, and over time it unfortunately slipped my mind. Fast forward seven months later--one week before Christmas--I was contacted requesting payment. I replied to the entire email chain showing my prior attempts to pay and explained that, due to the timing and lack of notice, I would need to make payment when I was able, as this expense had not been budgeted for. I also spoke with Kevin by phone, and while he seemed understanding, there was no acknowledgment that this delay was due to the company's failure to process payment when originally authorized. Last night, I noticed my card had been charged, leading me to believe my card information from seven months ago was used without prior notice or authorization at that time. This is not about avoiding payment--I made every effort to pay promptly and responsibly from the beginning. This situation is disappointing, especially as many of us are making a conscious effort to support small businesses in our community. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would recommend using a different company for pest inspection services. read more

Well I wish I could give a negative rating but that's not possible. I see through Reading the reviews that this company has been doing the same shady stuff for 10 plus years. I'm the buyer who was looking to purchase a house and the seller had already had a pest report done by stoneridge. I went over the past report and under the guidance and oversight of a licensed contractor performed a lot of the major repairs on the pest report. I decided to call them out for a reinspection and Kevin was super rude on the phone after he had done the inspection. And upon receiving the new report he pointed out new items that weren't on the initial inspection. He listed items again that had already been appropriately repaired and inspected by a state structural inspector. And did not provide photos for about half of the items that he called out. This company is about as shady as it gets. I would not recommend using them. You could spend a year calling them out and chasing all of the issues that don't exist or have already been repaired. read more

We were selling our house that is in great condition. He did a home inspection for the buyers that made it look like it was falling apart. We had to hire individual contractors (plumber, roofer, etc) to debunk his report. His report was missing any pictures for the remarks in the attic and under the house. When the new contractor went into those areas, he stated everything was perfect. We lost one deal due to his report. I would not recommend using this company for any home inspections. These guys did my home inspection, and when ants invaded, they came to the rescue. We signed up for their service and have been very happy with it. On the rare occasion that we see additional buggers, we give them a call and they come over and do a little extra spray. I recommend them to my friends, and now I'm recommending them to you. He came to my house with late notice on a Saturday afternoon and was willing to come back later in the day due to a birthday party. I think this is very rare for a business to do these days. Pest inspection report provided by seller when purchasing a home in Chico. They missed glaring issues including an active termite infestation due to soil piled up against the outside of the structure which should be reported in any good inspection report. Seems realtors may use this company when they know there are issues and do not want those issues to prevent the sale. Wish I had read the reviews of the company and had my own pest inspection done. read more

This is a review of the Termite side of the company. They also have a home inspector Bob Fritz who does very good work. First off I hired Kevin to inspect a home I was purchasing. I knew from the second he got out of his truck I had made a mistake. There are much better companys out there and he missed items which the home inspector found. Kevin's report was not accurate and he was upset that I wanted him to return to the residence to note the items. I never received the updated report. The reports also lack any photographs. Folks these type of mistakes cost the consumer money so please don't make the same mistake I did and hire a different company to inspect your property. Turns out he had inspected this same property 14 months earlier and he told me he did not remember being at the residence..Sorry Kevin wrong answer not many of us will believe you on that one! You sure were able to find that report for the listing agent in a hurry. read more

Received inspection report for a home inspection and had bogus findings on the house. Wrote up several outlets wired wrong but were signed off by the county as correct. Stated the toilets were loose but i (220 lbs) couldn't move it at all. Stated the new dish washer doesn't have a loop to prevent back flow of but they come factory installed on the dishwasher with a big sign saying leave in place. If he was a qualified inspector he would have known that fact. Claimed personal items in the way to inspect the attic. IT WAS ONE SMALL BOX and my wife was home to move if he asked. It was over 100 degrees that day, my guess would be, he didn't want to crawl up there. He claimed wrinkles and flashing damage on the roof that was debunked by the roofing inspector later. I was looking at buying a bank owned rental property. The bank provided a pest report done by some other company indicating major work was needed to be done. I decided to get a second opinion, so Kevin came out and crawled in through a really tiny access area into the really low crawl space to check it out. He told me that actually, he could see where the repairs had been done, and everything was actually fine. These other guys were basically trying to claim all this work needed to be done so they could rip off the bank. Since then, I have also had them do my monthly service at my home, and I have been very pleased with the good service at a very reasonable price. Plus, whenever I have a problem with bugs at my rental (like every spring), I send them over for a one time treatment which takes care of the problems. Honest and reliable service... what more could you want? read more

Avoid this company at all costs or you will pay and pay! They will come to your house once, like they did here 4 years ago. Then think they can just automatically do a regular spraying without notification or consent of the owner. I even told them never to come back. Then they send you a bill anyway. If you have pets, they disregard them and spray your yard regardless. Do not patronize this outfit. read more

If I could give a half star I would.My review sounds a lot like the other one star reviews and it is the same person,Kevin.I was not at home for the initial inspection but when I saw the report I could smell a rat. When I went around the house to see the problem areas using the inspection map, I quickly realized I did not need the map.Kevin had left gouge marks in my siding and indentations in the healthy wood. Rather than hire Kevin for over 6,000 dollars, I did some of the work and hired a general contractor to do some of the work.When he returned for a re-inspection I had the contractor with me.I asked Kevin why the gouge marks all over when he provided a map showing the problem areas and a written description of each issue?He said they all do that.When I got the re-inspection report he retaliated by adding new issues!The contractor I hired could not believe it.So I have filed a complaint with The Structural Pest Control Board.I suggest anyone who has had complaints in the last two years to do the same. read more

This review is about the Stone Ridge Home Inspection arm of Stone Ridge Termite. I would not reccommend the home inspection service. The inspector missed an obvious material defect which was costly to repair. The company ignored all attempts to contact them to discuss the inadequacies of their report. There is a better, more thorough home inspector in Chico. read more

These guys give a one,two punch of bull shit. Granted I was after an older mobile home for recreation, Looking at the report for the mobile it was written in a way that didn't tell anymore than I had discovered in a walk through.When asked about subfloor and pipes for bath looking from underneath he said you can tell from the top,asked about sewer pipes,nope not leaking.THIS WAS A 1979 MOBILE INSTALLED IN1979....couldn't inspect the garage because of stuff stored,his partner did for the pest inspection.......another great comment was MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN READ THESE REPORTS.The ROOF WAS NOT MOUNTED.....neither roofs were got on to inspect. I really don't think Chuck or Kevin got under the home,they just walked around and wrote a report that really has no info in it, repeating having licensed contractor inspect just hire licensed contractors for the whole thing.Almost $500.00 I certainly do not think I got my moneys worth. read more
