I came in as a brown belt specifically to train under Coach J Janero. His lineage through Rickson Gracie and the Ribeiro brothers resonated deeply with me since I started my journey under Kron Gracie. Making a move at that level is not easy. You do not change academies unless you are looking for something real. What I found at Evolve was next level coaching. Coach J genuinely cares about his students. He does not run a one size fits all system. He studies you. He understands how you move, where your gaps are, and how to refine your game. That level of individualized attention is rare. You feel seen, not processed. Training with J and Jane, who is also an incredible black belt and coach, has completely transformed my Jiu Jitsu. Their focus on efficiency, precision, and longevity is huge for me. I am in my 40s and I want to train into my 50s and 60s. They teach you how to push hard while staying smart. The culture is serious, technical, and supportive. If you care about growth and long term development, this is the place.

I connected with Sir Joseph via email beforehand, he's very responsive which I was really grateful for. He patiently answered all of my questions. I really appreciated that they have an organized curriculum. They also teach/give access to learning more about the Filipino culture outside of the Martial Arts. I took the 6:45 pm adult class 1-2 per week for a few months. They do offer other classes though like Dirty Boxing and youth classes if you're interested in that. As a pinay I hold so much value to this art. It's beautiful and takes a lot of skill. So give it a try and give yourself some grace if it doesn't come naturally at first. If you could bring a friend with you, that would be super helpful, because a lot of the material requires combat with another person. They provide quality yoga mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters so you can focus on your flow if you're new and don't have equipment. I've been attending classes here for a few months now and have found an instructor for every mood. Stephenie's evening classes are perfect when I want a slow, meditative flow. She gently guides us through poses and holds each one long enough for my body to fully sink in. I always leave her class feeling loose and limber. Joann's morning Hatha class is great for de-stressing. The sequences are simple but rejuvenating. We move through meditations and breathing exercises at a leisurely pace. When I want more of a challenge, I go to Josh or Tiffany's Vinyasa classes. They seamlessly flow us through faster-paced flows focused on breath and building up to more advanced arm balances or backbends. Both are so encouraging and help modify poses for all skill levels. I come out of their classes energized and empowered. Overall it's a gem for anyone looking to establish or deepen their yoga practice. I feel lucky to have discovered this oasis in my neighborhood!

Legit gym with proven results but unforgivable unprofessionalism and predatory billing turned my…read moreexperience into a nightmare. Proceed with caution. I'll start with the truth: Zhong Luo's Dragon House MMA is a legitimate operation. Luo has undeniable credentials in traditional Chinese kung fu, runs a full-scale MMA program, and promotes his own successful fight events (Zhong Luo Cage Fighting Series) that draw serious talent. The gym produces competitive fighters, hosts high-level amateur and pro bouts, and clearly knows how to develop athletes who go on to bigger stages. No question. On paper, this place has credibility and results. But legitimacy doesn't excuse treating a sincere student like absolute shit. And that's exactly what happened to me in 2019. As someone with a profound admiration for Chinese culture and its martial traditions, I train religiously, pushing my physique to exceptional levels of strength. Raw power, disciplined conditioning, unyielding drive. I sought out Dragon House specifically for its authentic Kung Fu roots blended with modern MMA. Under proper guidance, channeling that energy and refining my skills, I could have become a devastating force in that realm; the kind of dedicated fighter any coach would be proud to mold. Instead, I got blatant disrespect and neglect. Luo repeatedly no-showed for scheduled classes; not once, but multiple times. I'd arrive eager to train, only to wait in vain while unsupervised students sparred chaotically around me. Safety was a joke. On my first day alone, one person attempted to eye gouge me during sparring. There was no oversight and no correction, only serious health and safety risks because the so called "Sifu" failed to honor his commitments, and because of racism (the person I was paired with was a racist white man, a grown adult who tried to eye gouge me, a college student). Even if those no-shows were some colossal "misunderstanding" (which I highly doubt), Luo offered zero explanation and zero apology on both occasions. Not a word. Just silence and indifference toward a student who showed up with nothing but respect and hunger to learn. Then came the real kicker: this "legit" gym still billed me whereabouts $1,700 for a full fucking year of training that I never received. When I disputed and blocked the unauthorized charge through my bank (because paying for phantom services is insane) they sent it straight to collections. Harassing me over money for services that were never provided. Unbelievable predatory bullshit from a place that claims to uphold discipline and honor. I'm not denying the gym's successes or Luo's skills. Plenty of people thrive there. But my experience exposes the rotten underbelly: chronic flakiness at the top, zero accountability, and ruthless billing tactics that screw over anyone who falls through the cracks. This isn't bitterness; it's outrage at being dismissed and exploited despite my sincerity. Dragon House has potential and pedigree, which makes the unprofessionalism even more shameful. Strong warning: sign anything here at your own risk. Demand clear terms, track attendance meticulously, and be prepared for zero recourse if things go south. There are other legit gyms out there worth considering instead. As my dear friends in China would say, "可惜你".

He had been taking classes at another school but my sister pulled him out of that school and enrolled him in Delucca's and I'm glad that she did. He has been there 2 years now. The other school (no names mentioned) was too lenient and it seemed that they were letting everyone advance even though it was clear that they were not ready. I think they were more concerned with how many kids they can get to sign up. I often took my nephew to his classes and there were kids who would not pay attention and was always getting into trouble but yet they were getting promoted to the next level. We thought that was unfair, especially to the other kids who did work hard and pay attention. Since attending Delucca I have seen a difference in my nephew. He always looks forward to his classes and he likes to go more often now. It not only cost less then his previous school but he can attend a lot more classes during the week if he wanted to. He's stronger and has such confidence and is very focused. Delucca's is tougher than my nephew's previous school but that's good. That's what he wanted. He has definately learned a lot more from Mr. Delucca and his staff. Over there my nephew is not just a number. My nephew looks forward to continuing his training at Delucca, he's already working towards his next belt. Delucca's Tae Kwon DO is very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

All the other schools offered average 2 times a week classes on a set day/time schedule; not flexible at all. How I quickly excluded all the other schools from my shopping list and immediately decided with De Lucca's TKD school, because Sir Dominic (instructor & owner) gave me, my husband & daughter an instant family oriented feeling as we walked in for her trial class. The first minute my daughter walked out from her 1st class, she said, "mom, I want to come here every day!" Tuition is $139.00 / month. Payment is set up on auto-pay Month to Month, or can pay annually. No contract required. Free uniform on initial enrollment day. Offers 5-6 days a week classes for most levels, pretty much a drop-in system. Class schedules are catered to working parents. Parking access is convenient. There's a huge parking lot in front of the school. During weeks where my daughter has lots of homework, she attends class 2-3 times a week. On spring, summer & winter breaks, she attends up to 5 times a week. My daughter started attending this school May of 2014. Knowing how girly girl she is, plus English is not her primary language while still attending her last month of Preschool at that time, I did not think she would last more than 1 week here. I thought she'd quit after the 1st trial class. But Sir Dominic and Ma'am Christina make classes challenging, fun, strict, but not pressured. We love it here! Another priceless thing we received from this school is "respect and manners" taught every session. I used to remind my daughter to respond back to me saying Yes, Mom/No, Mom instead of Yeah, Mom or a simple No. Reminders are not needed at home now. Thanks to the best instructors here! The higher belt rank you get, the more strict & challenging the class gets. Instead of one duck squat lap as reminders when needed, my daughter at Blue Belt rank now requires 2-5 laps. Love it! We love this school and the instructors here so much, we feel like they are part of our family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this school whether for your kids or for adult training. Your decision will not be regretted, but will regret why you did not sign up earlier!
