Great Bloody Marys! Great bartenders! The mural and community support such an asset to us. And thanks for supporting local musicians!

You could play pool on the 2 tables while listening to the juke box and also enjoy the deck out back for your smoking needs.

What an amazing restaurant and bar tucked away along the end of the Avenue of the Giants! Stopped…read morehere on a whim after a long day and was throughly surprised (even though the photos already made it look delicious)! We had the French onion soup, Brussel sprouts, and the Chicken Ceasar Schnitzel and devoured it all. Wrapped up our dinner with a few rounds of pinball, which was a blast. Staff were very friendly as well! All and all, a diamond in the rough and a place I will plan on visiting the next time I pass through here.

This might be one of America's last Disco Roadhouses. I had a complete 'what in the David Lynch?'…read moremoments as we entered from the quiet cricket nature outside to the huge dance floor with disco music blasting and red lights glowing. There is a great stage to the right with a see thru back room that had a pool table and a few arcade games. To the left is the bar and large indoor 70s style fireplace. We were camping 20 mins up the highway and I felt completely unprepared for this scene. Next time I will be ready with more glitter and cowboy boots. We were lead to the back room, which somehow looked like a 20s speakeasy, with its cool dark wallpaper, dark academia bookshelves, and gold glittered tables, which overlooked the redwood trees. It was rustic and chic and I questioned if I was dreaming at how cool this place was. I know it's weird but I even loved their tea tree smelling hand soap in the bathroom. The service was excellent and food was delicious. They only have a few menu items and are mostly vegetarian (LOVE!) but they source their ingredients from local farmers and you can taste it. The waiter/owner explained that they have rotating chefs so this night they had Armenian influenced dishes. Yes, you heard right, Armenian food, 'my God,' I thought, 'could this random place in the redwoods get any better!' Between everyone at the table we tried most of the dishes, the shrimp cocktail, the fried cheese roll, roasted purple cauliflower, and fattosh salad, everything was excellent and comparable to the foodie scene you would find in the bay area. After dinner we headed to the bar for a few drinks and talked with the lil Kim shirt wearing, badass bartender. The place was a little quiet that night, but she explained they have had some pretty popular events this summer and do line dancing once a month as well. The halls are decorated in bands that have once played here and biker rallies with big names like Alvin Bishop and George Thorogood. Absolutely shocked by this hidden gem in the redwoods. Who knew Phillipsville was the place to be, I wish I lived closer so I can visit every weekend. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would and am looking forward to my next visit. I definitely think that it is worth the drive from the bay just to hang out at this place. Go now while you can so you can say you knew it when.

Wish this was near my home. Tuna logger bowl was a welcome item in a rural location. Good quality considering this is a brewery! Side of Mac and cheese was okay. They try to help it by adding bacon and green onions but it still tastes very similar to velveeta. Fries are super great! There are games to play like cornhole, Ping pong, table soccer. A fire pit. And there was a Friday night band for free, outdoors, so your ears don't blow off. Great. Actually quite good reggae and some energetic rock-ish songs too! Definitely understaffed, but all the staff are really moving and making an effort to provide the best service with a smile and accommodate. Go early before things pick up (before 5:30 or so), stay for the drinks, and maybe music.

The beertender suggested the fishes, so I had grilled fish tacos and he had ceviche. Both were spot on and very fresh. They were setting up for Lost Coast Line Dancing from 6-8 every Thursday, so I got a few shots of the line dance teachers warming up. They looked like they were really enjoying themselves. Wished we could have stayed longer.
