The owner, Manuel, was also very friendly and hands on. He actually came to my house up in Timnath (an hour drive away from the shop) to do the measurements himself. Wow! What can I say 8A Colorado Stone has done it again, this time for my parents house…read more My parents own a old Victorian house in the heart of Denver. It's been almost fourty years since they remodeled the kitchen. We installed New cabinets and countertop with matching splash backs. The thing about these old homes is the fact that nothing is level and nothing is square. Nothing is plumb. So it was a huge challenge to get the cabinets in correctly and now it's going to be the issue for Manuel and his crew at 8A Colorado Stone. My Mom ordered the stone slabs she wanted and the slab came in within a week. Manuel the owner came to take measurements and built a template and four days later they were here to install. They arrived one day earlier than expected which is awesome. They crew started to install the countertops and sink. They did an amazing job. They never complained about the house not being level or square. Instead they worked for hours making sure everything is perfect. From the time from ordering the slab to install was about a week and a half. Not the 8-10 weeks like all the other places. It looks beautiful. Below are some pictures of the work they did. Now we still have to build matching trim for the window in the kitchen so never mind that. You can trust Manuel and is crew at 8A Colorado Stone. Beyond the final pieces being beautiful and completed in a timely basis, Brian was super easy to work with. Brian went the extra mile to source an excellent burner and cool lava rocks for the firepit too (visiting a supplier in Denver, picking it up, going back to pick up lava rocks, etc.) Brian was also knowledgable on what types of brackets were required for the heavy duty countertop to hang floating off the deck, and made some design recommendations (thicker front edge) that really made the difference in the finished look. I also saw several of Brian's concrete sinks in his studio - stunning - pictures while great can't do them justice. I highly recommend Greyscape Studio for any of your concrete needs.

We wanted to make our basement more cozy and requested some quotes from contractors. After realizes most items I wanted were wood pieces I decided to contact Adams cabinetry. Steve came out, gave me his opinions on things and went home and hand sketched my vision on paper. Not only that but his quote was fantastic. These are custom hardwood pieces for a great deal. It includes installation, constant check ins from Steve, and the fun part of picking a stain and finishes. I can not say enough good things about this company. I had about 9 different brick estimates ranging from the guy who said, "uh...sure...I think I can do this," to the couple who just turned tail and ran away, to companies with price tags that were essentially the cost to build a new home. I did a lot of research and saw pics online of the work put out by Brick Specialists. What I got was even better. Honestly, everyone at Brick Specialists should be wearing capes when they show up at your house. They are heroes. I cannot give enough kudos. First of all, James is the ULTIMATE professional. He is soft-spoken, kind, accommodating and really knows his stuff. The price point was great (not the cheapest, but in this case it's worth it to pay a little more). Beyond that, the work was impeccable. The guys working on the house were so talented, matching mortar, brick type and color with some really antiquated original brick, and fast. Other contractors on site were astonished at the talent of these guys. People walking down the street would stop to comment or give hugs (yes, this happened more than once). I originally hired Josh years ago for a very small job which he humbly accepted in between his other large jobs (in hindsight he was far overqualified). I knew he would be our person for any future projects. When it came time for cabinetry for our basement finish, I knew Josh was who we would use. To cover my bases, I explored a couple other quotes. Here's the nutshell on that. While Josh's pricing was at first glance (slightly) on the higher side than other quotes, the value easily exceeded the other quotes we got. One was slightly less but the cabinets would have to be painted after install (they didn't provide painting) whereas Josh follows best practices and all cabinets were expertly painted prior to install. Josh is also able to do just about anything you can dream of. We did a custom wardrobe-style storage closet with paneling to match an adjacent wall and the work he did seamlessly integrates with the work of our basement carpenter. Moreover, when some things went south with our project and we had to have the floors redone, Josh really saved us. We no longer trusted our original carpenter and Josh helped fix trim work that had been damaged in the floor debacle process. As you can see, I really can't say enough good things about Josh and his skills. The bonus to all of this is he is a kind, genuine person who is genuinely wonderful to be around. Don't be surprised if it feels as comfortable having him in your home as it does a long-time friend. Show Josh respect and kindness and he will return it tenfold and more.
