They screwed me and cost me money on the home price as well as repair and refuse to make me whole! Mark Bendit, shame on you! Please check the agreement before you sign. It says you waive your right to be compensated above the inspection fee if they are negligent!! Do not sign! Do not use their services!!! UPDATE!! Based on owners response: The owner didn't refer me to his insurance as he claims. He referred me to his lawyer, who stated they were not obligated to pay me for their negligence. They will only return my inspection fee if I sign a release form. Mark, please don't make me post the release form next. Having your insurance fix the damage would have been the honorable thing to do.

Finding a vendor that can 'do-it-all' was a head-pulling process until I found Mikhail (he goes by 'Michael') who said yes to all three. He showed up on time, immediately ran a ground scan performing the oil tank sweep, thoroughly went through the house for the inspection, and left a radon test kit in the basement to collect an air sample, all for about two hours. Very next day, I received three reports at 9pm: 1. Inspection 2. Termites 3. Oil Tank Sweep Currently awaiting a radon test result. Since collecting a sample takes two days and the sample has to be shipped to a lab, several more days are needed. He's done a great job and I highly recommend hiring him for your due diligence. I spent THREE MONTHS! calling, texting, emailing - when I threatened legal action I was told I would be reimbursed for the full amount of my payment - then promptly ghosted again. In the same email, they stated they would not contest if I chose to dispute through my bank. I was informed by my bank two months later that they had, in fact, denied my claim based on the merchants information. The amount of time and energy I have invested into this is so deeply unacceptable. This company should never be used, and should not be allowed to process payments or transactions of any kind. A gross mishandling of money, time, trust, and customer service. I would give 0 stars if Yelp allowed, truly horrific experience.

However, I am now left very frustrated as I have asked three times to be provided with the report of their findings, which is necessary in order for me to get my landlord to provide extermination, and despite being promised to get a report by noon today, they have sent nothing. They told me several times that "time is of the essence" and I need to get on this immediately so that I don't have a larger issue, so their then delay is very frustrating. It does feel a bit like they're only interested in talking to you when they think they can refer you to an exterminator, which I'm almost certain they make commission on. As an update, I just went on to the NESDCA website (that NYC Bed Bug Inspections claims to be certified by and shows the logo of among their photos) and NYC Bed Bug Inspections does not appear on the NESDCA list of certified bed bug detection teams so I am lowering my review to one star as this seems outright deceptive. Additional update, I did eventually get a response any my report after threatening to dispute the charge and report the company. So overall, I don't think they're a scam but I'm sure there are better run and certified companies out there so I'd go with those.

Bob made sure he talked us through his recommendations of what could be an issue, how to proactively address it when we move in, and helped break things down in layman's terms for us. He didn't leave any stone unturned. Even when the seller and their agent were rude and trying to rush Bob through the process, he let them know, he was going to take as long as necessary to do a thorough inspection. Just to name a few things he did that stood out to me: checking every electrical socket, noticing that since they were older- they didn't have a GFCI protector for us, air filters, screen doors, electric panel, doors and cabinets opening and closing properly! He even realized on the electrical panel that there was a garbage disposal for the sink that the seller decided to deactivate and no longer use. So now we know we have the option to install that if we would like! If you are looking for someone to rush through the inspection, go elsewhere. He will take the time necessary to do a thorough job. I highly recommended Bob and his team and will use him again in the future.
