10x16 Shed Mounted and installed anchor to concrete
Derrick B.

Great business me and my wife went to give them a try found a young lady who was very helpful Lexie helped us a great deal and she gave us a date and followed up with making sure delivery was on time.. great business and employees are wonderful after my past experiences of dealing with other places I will recommend this place over any other shed company..

Soil washing into the foundation

The incompetence of this company is astounding... I had rescheduled my shed delivery several times due to rain. My yard is very hilly and retains water so I told them not to deliver after it rains. After a night of thunderstorms they showed up unexpectedly at my door at 6:30am, ringing the doorbell and waking our entire house. After convincing me that they deliver in much worse conditions and assuring me they wouldnt damage the yard, the driver slid down the hill spinning his wheels and tore up the yard as well as scraping the shed across a tree. He got stuck on the hill and left it until someone else came to try again a few days later. The dispatcher told me they had some mules with track wheels that they would send out and instead the guy showed up with the same kind as before. He eventually got the shed in place but not without incidence. His mule broke down and the shed came crashing down. He also did significant damage to the yard, which I was quoted at $850 to repair. The shed was all scratched up, with several gouges in the surface, the metal roof was bent, and my foundation was never built properly to keep soil from running in when it rained (I corrected this myself). Also they never included the ramp or the electrical package that I asked for. They came out a week later to do the repairs and install the ramp and electric. Most of the issues were corrected, the $850 from yard damage was deducted from my invoice, and I was generally satisfied with the outcome at this point, except they forgot the mounting bracket for the ramp. Which I didnt think was a big deal.. They finally came out this morning for that and when the ramp was still off level they began shoveling some dirt away from the high side but decided that was too much effort and instead stacked 3 small stones under the low side to balance the ramp. The ramp is touching the ground on one side and lifted 3 inches off the ground on the other. After countless issues they had just one last, simple thing to get right and this is how they solve the problem... this has been one headache after another and while they keep coming back out to correct the issues, these problems were all easily preventable. While the structure itself seems well constructed, their lack of coordination and execution is incomprehensible and not worth the aggravation. I will never use this company again and would never recommend them.

So all the water runs threw the balcony down to the lower leave and then down into my basement, threw the cellar door. They did not offer us and option to close it the gaps. And now they want more money ---a lot more--to make repairs. And to top if off, they left wood and nails under the porch they did not think we would find. Yet they had a dumpster at my home for a week. Please do not use this company. They will mess things up and just ask for a 5 star review.

We hired E&E for our exterior renovation project. This was by far our largest project we have ever…read moredone. The project consisted of replacing the roof, windows, siding, front door and building a portico. Our home was built in 1966 - so the windows and siding were original. The old windows were single pane and the siding was aluminum. In addition - part of the front of the home was brick. We absolutely couldn't be happier with how the renovation turned out. From start to finish the team at E&E was fantastic. Wallie worked with us through the estimate process. Alan was our project manager. Jason and his crew replaced the roof. Johnny, Merv and Sammy replaced our windows, siding and front door. And last but certainly not least - Jordan and his team did the masonry work. There were a number of decisions/changes that needed to be made on the fly and never once did I feel like it was an issue. Alan was always reachable via phone, text and email. Johnny was onsite for the majority of the renovation - so I could always approach him as well with any questions or concerns. I'm very particular about how I want certain things and I can attest that the craftmanship is top notch. The crew is very personable, they show up on time and they keep their work site clean. We have a couple of interior projects that we are thinking about doing in the future and we won't hesitate to reach out to E&E! Thanks again guys for everything!

I checked the house the night before and my seven foot island had no top. That was stressful but taken care of. My main complaint is that a couple of cabinets had discoloration and they agreed it needed fixed. So I was sent a small paint sample. Not someone to take care of it. The final thing, one of my cabinets was cracked. A replacement was sent. And the replacement is still in a box. I'm expected to install this. Granted they don't do installations- my contractor installed the kitchen. I was to pay him or a handyman to install this, rather than W&J find someone. It's not cheap to put in a custom kitchen. I expected better.

They are well-connected within the Lancaster business community, and Amish carpentry community, and they work with some amazing people. Our Amish contractor is who led us to them, and we are so grateful to have gotten to know Dave Walter, as well as to have worked with his architect, Paul, and Paul's assistant Alison. Alison went over a zillion drafts with me to make our plans absolutely custom and perfect. She listened to what we wanted, and allowed us to be our strong-headed selves with our design ideas, as opposed to trying to push things we didn't want. (A prior architect we'd gotten a quote from--not from W&J--was super pushy, with ideas that had nothing to do with what we wanted.) Alison was respectful of our wishes, but did tactfully occasionally make suggestions, which we are grateful for, because they really helped. Awesome experience with them! Dave Walter is a great person to work with as well. We completed a good amount of work with them, which we love, but have had a lull in our renovation plans. However, when we start up again, we will be right back on track with Dave and co. I will add that we have worked with 2 other building supply companies closer to us, and neither of the other places had anywhere near the heart that this place does, nor were they willing to go the extra mile to the extent that W&J is. I think being in LanCo ("out in the country") does set a different pace for life, and helps people be more decent toward one another. I realize how quickly Lancaster is being built up, but I think it still has a noticeably less-citified energy than the counties of the Philly 'burbs (MontCo/ChesCo/Delco/BucksCo). Experiences getting building supplies from Delaware County Supply were largely positive, however, they specialize in certain things (for example, crazy selection of wood trims, and exotic wood species) that seem to be the main focus, while W&J can pull tricks out of their hat for custom painting on siding, or directing you to metal roofers with awesome color options, that others cannot. It makes sense that a lot of the manufacturers for metal roofing (popular for barns and silos) are out in LanCo, and it makes sense that they would have formed their best relationships with a LanCo supplier, to whom they offer their best deals. We also had an experience with J&L Building Supplies in Frazer (Malvern), which was pretty awful. While Delco Supply was a decent enough crowd, everyone we dealt with at J&L was miserable. We were actually warned by contractors that J&L is notorious for treating homeowners badly, in favor of contractors. This was absolutely the case at J&L, and is sometimes the case at Delco Supply, but it is never the case at Walter & Jackson. A very simple order, placed at J&L, took three weeks to get quoted, and then after calling three times over two more weeks to make payment, it further got delayed, and then cancelled on us, for no reason (but probably because we dared to ask why it was taking so long). Luckily, when we made the same order with W&J, it was significantly cheaper, and there were no delays or hassles from W&J. What's more? Instead of acting like he was doing us a favor to condescend to help us (like at J&L), Dave Walter was sincerely gracious and appreciative of our business. Very positive experience with genuine caring people at W&J.
