I had an amazing experience at Stokes Mazda in North Charleston from start to finish! From my very first phone call, the customer service was excellent. Dexter answered the phone and went out of his way to check the availability of the vehicle I was interested in. He made sure everything was ready before I even arrived. When I got there, the Jeep was already pulled up front and ready for me to look at, which made the process feel easy and hassle-free. Chad Bowers, my salesman, was fantastic. He made the entire experience simple, comfortable, and actually enjoyable. He was helpful without making me feel pressured, and I really appreciated how easy he made everything. Charlotte in finance was also wonderful. She was extremely friendly and worked hard to get me a warranty while actually getting my payment lower, which I really appreciated. Overall, the entire team at Stokes Mazda went above and beyond to make my experience a great one. I highly recommend Dexter, Chad, Charlotte, and the whole Stokes Mazda team if you're looking for a vehicle and want a great buying experience! read more

Back in December of 2023 my car was getting old and expensive to take care of and once the headlight went out and I had to rent a car, as car fate would have it, my rental was a Maxda CX-5. I really enjoyed driving it, so that's what led me to Stokes Mazda. They had a brand new beautiful red CX-5. They also had a no interest deal that I couldn't pass up! I did get an extended warranty and the oil change package. After driving it a while I did realize I was missing defrost capable side mirrors. And to use GPS you have to connect your phone and use your data. Besides that, I love my new car. The team at the dealership is always super helpful and polite. read more

My wife and I visited Stokes Mazda to look at the new CX90 Plug In Hybrid with 7 seats. After connecting several times with Dexter who manages the online communication, we were connected to Mike the sales manager who then directed us to Matt Parkhurst of the sales team. We took the car for the test drive and loved the vehicle. While we didn't actually purchase a vehicle from them, we did love their dealership, the friendliness of all staff, the cleanliness of the dealership and their overall professionalism. I would have definitely have purchased from them it they weren't almost 2 hours from my house. Unfortunately there are no local Mazda dealers in the Hilton Head area. If you live in the greater Charleston area, I highly recommend Matt and the team at Stokes. They will do what it takes to get you into a great car. read more

Trustworthy! How don't know how to express this any more clear. Chad Bowers and Mike Gregory, two men that have earned my trust not only as personal friends through the local church, but now as the only people I will go to for vehicle purchases. Purchasing a vehicle is a big decision, and I have questioned if I have made the right financial decision every time I've done it. This is the first time I left the dealership completely at peace with the decsion made, not only on the first night, but even now, two weeks after purchase. read more

As a buyer from out of state (1700 miles away) I must say there were a lot of hoops to jump through but Jesus was able to help me so much when it came to finding my perfect car and make the whole process extremely smooth. I cannot say enough wonderful things about how Jesus was helpful and the perfect salesman for the job. Pros: 1. All issues were resolved in a timely manner 2. Communication was excellent between the salesman (Jesus) and I so there were no surprises 3. Very friendly staff. Was asked multiple times if I was being helped or not and didn't feel ignored in the slightest 4. Very nice new remodel of the dealership 5. Jesus, the parts employee the day I was there, and the Tech that worked on my car all helped to resolve a key fob issue as well as a dead car battery immediately without charge 6. Jesus picked me and my partner and our friends up from the airport super early in the morning 7. The car made it all the way home (1980 total miles) without a single issue 8. Full tank of gas Cons: 1. There were a few mistakes on the paperwork from the finance office and documents had to be redrafted a couple times but they were able to correct them just in time. 2. I was a bit disappointed with how lazy the detail was on the car. I found multiple sticky spills on various plastics of the interior of the car that only needed a simple wipe down and the wash left water marks by the time I got to the car as well as finding the old owner's finance papers in the glove box. I even found a bunch of big Cheetos crumbs from the last owner inside the center console. 3. One of my key fobs was missing the auxiliary key inside read more

Well bought it during the day so didn't realize the lights inside car didn't work. Had them fix it. Lights went out again so electric apparently. Only gave me one key fob which now isn't working and going to cost over 600$. Biggest part. Seat belts don't work. Well, it is a rare time in days like this when you can actually walk into a dealership for the first time and be treated with mutual respect and have your concerns listened to and understood. Chuck and Dan were an absolute blast, we came in late last night to look at getting a slightly larger vehicle for my wife, and everyone here gave us 5 star service and were amazing with our 7 year old who was with us. Now, let me say, I am no stranger to the automotive world, and have been in this industry 20 years now. My first car was a Mazda Mx-6, then a 2003 Mazdaspeed protege, then a 2004 mazda6. We have always wanted to come back to Mazda but the Mazda locations in Colorado were not the best to work with. What a difference here! We cannot thank you all enough for your help, and the way you took care of us, we did have our financing already which they completely understood and this was by far the smoothest transaction and interaction we have had with a dealer in a VERRRRRYYY long time. I would encourage anyone looking to purchase a new Mazda to come and experience Stokes Mazda and their professional and courteous team. read more

Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service On August 10th, I had an appointment at Mazda Service to fix my rear tire. I had a pin in the tire and needed to add air every 2-3 days, so I scheduled a service visit to address the issue. I handed over my keys and waited in the lounge area. After about 25 minutes, I received a video from the mechanic explaining the problem: the tire had a pin causing the issue. He explained that he would patch the tire and have it ready soon. While I was watching the video, a representative from the front desk approached me and said the tire had a needle puncture in a spot they claimed was "unrepairable." He insisted I needed to replace the entire tire for $365. I told him that my car was practically new (only 5,000 miles on it) and that the tires were in excellent condition. I was confident the puncture could be fixed. He clearly didn't like my response and began raising his voice, speaking rudely, and pressuring me to agree to the replacement. At that point, I decided to refuse the service and asked for my car back. The situation only escalated. He repeatedly questioned my decision, and when I insisted, the mechanic was told to bring my car outside. However, instead of handing me my keys, the mechanic walked back inside and gave them to the front desk representative, who continued to behave unprofessionally. I had to go back inside and ask for my keys again. He hesitated and only returned them by placing them on the desk without a word of apology. This experience was beyond frustrating. The staff's behavior was disrespectful and completely unprofessional. It's clear they were more interested in upselling a tire replacement than providing honest service. A few days later, I took my car to Gerald's Tires in Summerville. They patched the tire for just $25, and I've been driving on it for nearly four months without any issues. This confirmed that the repair was simple and that Mazda Service's claim of the damage being "unfixable" was either inaccurate or dishonest. I won't be returning to Mazda Service. If you're looking for a place that values honesty and treats customers with respect, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

We have only had GOOD experiences with this place since the first time we stepped through the doors a few years ago. Adrian was great to work with. He was personable and not your stereotypical "schmoozy" salesman. As long as he works at Stokes, he has our business. We have referred numerous people to him bc we have no doubt that he will treat them well. We have had numerous visits with the Service Department, and can honestly say there has not been one bad experience. Whitt is always friendly and courteous of our time. I recently had an unexpected situation with my car and I had to take it in without any appointment. Jennifer answered my call and told me to bring the car in anyway. This just added to the positive experiences we have had with Stokes Mazda. Even though I am sitting in a waiting room and I have an issue with my vehicle, am not even upset. read more

Another satisfying purchase from Stokes Mazda. This is the 4 Mazda that we have bought from Stokes Mazda over the past few decades. 2 Miata's, a "3" and now the CX-90. Our sales man, Adrian Wilson was very helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend him as your potential sales associate when you visit this dealership. Not one time did we fill pressured into making any kind of quick decision during our visit. We looked at and test drove a few different cars. We left the dealership but returned later the same day and purchased the CX-90. We were treated with respect by the entire team at Stokes Mazda. We highly recommend Mazda as a car worth investigation. This brand of automobile is top rated for quality and in the top 10 for reliability. read more

They treated me well, gave me a fair trade, and most importantly got me into my car of choice, a Mazda CX-30. very friendly place. Just make sure you check everything that you expected to be serviced before you leave.

The service department deserves 6 stars for the excellent service they provide, this was the definition of above and beyond. Tim was exceptional and he worked through my tire issue saving me $150 just because he looked at a past repair and was able to utilize a warranty. Tim is knowledge about what he does and in today's world that's very hard to find. He provided updates and kept me in the loop. Knit did the check out process and he was so pleasant and polite. I brought in my car yesterday for a regular checkup (by appointment) and arrived a couple minutes early. I was let in a couple minutes early and they took my car immediately. I had requested a loaner vehicle, and they had one ready, but the traffic on Ashley Phosphate was not conducive to driving, and with my service taking an hour or less, I chose to wait it out in the comfortable leather chairs. The TV was on, showing the local news, but it kept turning off every few minutes. I think a salesperson was bored in an office nearby, and had access to a remote and was messing with me. When went for a test drive and subsequently ordered the CX-5, I was quoted a price and negotiated it down. When I went to purchase, everything was different . The vin # was different, the price was different and the negotiated amount was not reflected. I was not allowed to see the sticker. "It's in the trunk." When I got home and started to look at the numbers, I realized the problem. I contacted Stokes. They saidI was wrong. I contacted Mazda corporate and they said it was a dealership issue. I contacted SC Consumer Affairs. They tried but did NOT receive any response. So here I am. I have 1 star only because I enjoy the the car. The experience with Stokes soured the experience. I still feel that I ripped off. How many other times have they done this ? To senior citizens? To a woman? read more

My wife had decided that she wanted to lease a new vehicle so we went to Stokes Mazda since I was there in October 2021 and leased a new CX-5 and had a good experience. We met with Chad a sales consultant and he was very helpful and respectful. He assisted my wife in choosing the vehicle to her satisfaction which was a CX-5 2.5 Premium Plus. Then she met sales manager # 1 named Mike E. My wife was trading in a 2007 BMW 335i with 58,000 that was in very good condition. Mike said the best he could do was give us 4,800 in a trade in. We felt that was a little low and began what I thought was negotiations. After a little back and forth. We settled on a price. We felt it was a little high but that's life. We made arrangements to pick the Mazda this past Thursday. When we arrived at the dealership my wife inquired about the navigation system and was informed that she had to pay over $ 400.00 to get the navigation system put in. At that point we became incensed. We couldn't believe that after leasing a $ 40,000 vehicle navigation was not in it, or the dealership wouldn't include it in the price. I spoke with sales manager # 2 Mike E. and he informed me that their margin of profit was so small he couldn't just give us the navigation. He also said the best he can expect to do on out trade in was $ 5,800. We believe he wasn't being very truthful and started to doubt the whole negotiation process. Our only options were to walk away or get the car and pay for navigation. Mike E. said navigation could be done with my wife's cell phone which they could not accomplish. We ended up paying what they wanted. I even spoke to the General Manager Travis and was brushed aside. We are in our 60's and life is to short. I decided to go on there website to see if our trade in was on the market. To my surprise there is the 2007 BMW 335i for sale for $ 13,080. I think that's a bit higher than $ 5,800. The kicker to all this is that my 2021 CX-5 Grand Touring lease is up in October and vehicle has 13,000 miles on it and I plan on leasing another. Stoke's Mazda has no chance of us doing business with them again. Customer Service is key and they don't have it. I gave them one star for the sale rep Chad and Finance manager Dan. I would recommend stay clear of Stoke's Mazda. read more

I've brought my car here for service throughout its life. I can say the service and parts people have always been friendly and helpful and I've never experienced any errors in my service or failures in Mazda parts. Mazda is an independent car company which is a huge plus for me and the main reason I'm on my 3rd Mazda car. The only reason Stokes gets 4 stars from me is the sales staff. They have on several occasions been less than friendly especially when they find out I'm only here for a service visit. Why not answer my questions and go out of your way? I'm a 73 year old retired pastor whose owned many different makes of cars over the years, but never a Mazda. I was also in auto sales and management at two different dealerships back in Maine many years ago. Decided I wanted an AWD vehicle for when we travel back north to visit family. My wife and I like small to mid-size SUVs so I checked out the Mazda CX-5. Met Greg W. when I first went to the dealership. He was courteous, professional, and did everything right. When I was going there (Aug. 2023) the dealership was being run out of some trailers while their new showroom was being built. Even though that was a little inconvenient, their willingness to meet my needs and the great attitude they all had made everything easy. (Their new facility is now finished and is beautiful!) I decided to save some $$ (being retired now) and went with a new CX-30. It's a little smaller, mostly in the rear cargo area, but it fits me very well! I'm 6'2" tall. It's fun to drive, handles like a sports car but is truly an SUV. Has a great 2.5 liter engine with plenty of pep, and all the latest safety features. In the 20+ years we have lived in this area, buying a few new and used vehicles from different dealerships, my experience with Stokes Mazda in North Charleston has been the most pleasant I have had. I highly recommend you check them out. Bernie L. - Summerville, SC read more

I'm happy with my new beautiful CX-5 but not with Stokes Mazda dealership. We were haggling over the price and they sent over a different salesman from our original to talk to me about buying a cheaper vehicle package even though I was set on specific vehicle and package. They were unwilling to go down on price to match another Mazda dealership in SC for the same car and wanted me to buy a cheaper car package. This guy said there was very little difference in the vehicle I wanted. He said there was only 1 different feature when in fact that was not true. As I added to his list he seemed uncomfortable and left the desk we were sitting at. I had already done the research on the available packages for the CX-5. I would hope he wasn't deliberately misleading me, but I think the people that sale them would know just as much if not more than I would. The salesman we worked with Ted, however, was a very nice gentleman. I have purchased 2 prior vehicles from Stokes, and my last purchase in 2014 I ran into some integrity issues with the sales manager at that time (I believe he is no longer there) . So we left and drove to Anderson, SC in the upstate to purchase (unfortunately for us this time Anderson Ford no longer sales Mazdas, but man what a great dealership!). I felt like I had a good conversation with the new Stokes crew minus the one gentleman mentioned before about the packages. In the end I got the price close to where I wanted even though still a little higher and decided to give my local dealership another go. I bought the vehicle from Stokes Mazda and low and behold they dooped me. The monetary value was less than $100, but my issue is completely the principle. I got home and the cargo mat that was in the vehicle was missing. I just assumed when the car was cleaned they forgot to put it back. Having children these mats are life savers so if you don't have one I strongly suggest getting one. So I called and the salesman Ted to ask if I could stop by and pick it up. He later called me back and told me that the Sales Manager told him that they had removed it because the other dealership I was dealing with first didn't include the mat so in order to lower our price they took it out, however, this was never conveyed to us. The mat was there during daylight hours, but when we stopped by to pick it up after dark it had apparently been removed. If they had told me I probably would have still purchased the car. Like I said it isn't the money it's the principal. The mat was there when I looked at it and agreed to purchase the car. I am a huge Mazda fan and really prefer to deal locally but honestly if you look Stokes Mazda is always the highest price of anyone in SC and apparently their integrity issues are still an issue. read more

I had an excellent experience here buying my new car. I found the car I wanted on their website, but it didn't have any photos yet. I called to ask about the color and the gentleman on the phone said he wasn't sure since they just got it in and it was at the detailer. I told him I was coming by later that afternoon to test drive the newer year anyway, so I could wait until then to find out about the color. We pull up and it's pouring rain. A salesperson quickly met us out by the car with an umbrella and we made some small talk. We get inside and are greeted by Chuck. First of all, Chuck is amazing. He made this whole thing go so smoothly. I never once felt pressured to buy after I test drove and he knew his stuff when it came to the details of the car. I went on the test drive, fell in love, and then proceeded to buy the car. Chuck let me know that it needed a few days with their crew to finish up the checks since it just got on the lot, but let me know I could have it later that week. He even offered to bring it to me and pick up my trade in. We scheduled a visit for Friday after work. I got antsy and decided that I would check to see if it was ready a day early - it was! We made our way back to the dealership where Chuck tells me he went ahead and had the one paint chip fixed (as well as some other small scratches inside the door from the seatbelt) AND the gentleman doing the financing got us a better rate than we were previously quoted. We bought the car, Chuck drove us to the gas station for a fill up, and then we were on our way. They have handled everything incredibly, even texting us to remind us about the insurance paperwork. They are definitely off the beaten path when it comes to car dealerships (down Ashley Phosphate vs. motor mile), but TRUST ME, they will do you right. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. It honestly was the best car-buying experience either of us have had to date! read more

They're in the business of selling cars without legally owning the title first, so I'd make sure to check to see if they actually have a title for whatever used car you're thinking about purchasing. Bought a used car from them 55 days ago and they still haven't managed to get me the title for it. Since the temporary tag expires in 45 days I can no longer legally drive the car I paid for in cash, which wouldn't be much of a problem if I could drive the rental car they gave me. Since I'm 20 years old I'm not allowed to drive a rental car from stokes, but fortunately a family member was kind enough to lend me theirs. I guess anyone else my age would just have to quit their jobs or something. If I don't get the title I paid for soon, I guess my parents will have to take legal action, another unnecessary expense...
