We were traveling through Alabama when our Chevrolet's transmission began to run hot. We stopped at this dealership/service department. They told us we needed a new transmission and it would cost us $6,900!! After questioning them, they then said they could change the transmission fluid, filter, and temp valve for $800 and it would take 4-hours. We questioned them even more. All they had done was take the dip stick out and checked it. Needless to say we left after having to pay them $200 FOR NOTHING!! After leaving and stopping at a transmission shop, we got the transmission fluid, filter, and temp valve changed for $360 and it only took ONE (1)-HOUR!!! I guess screwing people is what they do best!! If you are okay with this, then by all means, do your thing, but screwing people over or trying to screw the ripple over is not okay, I don't care what kind of business you run. read more

If you're getting a used car, you will probably want to avoid this dealership. Dont trust their car inspection. They have the same trick language that those gas station car lots have. Only difference is they're not smoking in your face and chewing tobacco.... but their words match. Went to trade in our paid of 2020 Nissan kick, was willing to pay out of pocket 10k. They offered me under 4K under value for my trade in and wanted to argue how they got that amount, they base their prices out of Tampa Florida, no where close to Clanton Alabama. Went to McKinnons next door and they offered 5K more than Stokes did. Disappointed. read more

Deception My friend just bought a brand new car from Stokes in Clanton AL. He had the car for 2 months and noticed the car had existing damage and may have been wrecked. He takes the car back, they keep it a month, and they call and explain they have re-painted part of this brand new car. My friend does not want to pay full price for a damaged car, at this point, after a repaint the value has dropped even more. He calls the OWNER, the owner will not take the car back. To add insult to injury, the owner offered to allow a trade in @ $5000.00 less the price he has already paid, if my friend will purchase a more expensive car that cost $7000.00 more than the original price he paid. I realize that I do not have the best credit, but I had been making payments with GM for 3 years and thought I would be able to get credit. I was at the dealership for 5 hours. I was first looking at a Buick then saw a Jeep that I REALLY wanted. Chase came back and told me that I couldn't get it thru GM so they would try the buick. Then he came back and told me I could only get a Chevy Trax. Didn't get to test drive. I am now financed thru a loan shark and I don't have cruise control. I would never have bought a car with no cruise control. I am extremely unhappy. I wish I had my Chevy Equinox back. I was pressured. read more

In November 2017 I carried my 2500 Diesel in to have oil changed and fuel filters replaced. I knew the cost would be high and thay did call and ask if I wanted a fuel conditioner added to improve engine performance. I thought I could trust them and did not closely examine my receipt. WRONG! I was just looking at a recall notice and got to looking at my receipt in Feb 16, 2018. They did not change the fuel filters at all but added over $60 in aditives and other cost for a grand total of $182. All I really got was an oil change. Time to look for an honest shop. BTW, I assume most are active members of a church. So much for acting like what the claim to be. I now know the bottom line profit is all that counts for them. read more
