Several times now the people at Rider's have helped me with programing my transmitter and airplane. I couldn't have done this on my own. This week they sent my broken Saito engine back to Horizon Hobby for repair. They did all the paperwork and packaging and covered the shipping cost. Two weeks later they called me to say that they have a brand new engine for me to pick up. No questions asked, no charge, not even for shipping. I can only imagine the heartburn I would have had to deal with if I had bought this engine online. We need to support our local hobby shop because their support is vital to us and our hobbies.

Coming from Milford, you basically follow Milford Road until you get to Fenton Road, and it's there on the corner by the tracks. Even though there isn't a Second Shot sign that I noticed from the road, the Traxxas banner was easy to see at night. Admittedly, Second Shot hasn't been open in this location for more than a few weeks, so their inventory isn't gigantic. However, all the major brands were represented: tons of Traxxas, lots of Losi, a bit of Team Associated, and so on. Many new parts, lots of RTR setups, and I've gotta say, the prices were excellent. If anything in the store was priced higher than Tower / A Main / Amazon, I didn't see it -- and I was looking. I really wished I had come in sooner, actually. I had a chance to chat with the guy who runs the place, and he's easily the least pretentious RC guy I've spoken with. He definitely knows his stuff, but there was never an "I do this at 'the track' so you should..." moment. And there was a definite "If I don't have it, I can get it" ambiance. Keep in mind though, that RTR seems to be Second Shot's bread and butter. Walking out of there with a Team Associated kit is probably not going to happen if you didn't have it ordered. On the other hand, if RTR is your thing and you need repairs that you don't want to do yourself, Second Shot is probably the only place in the region I've been to that offers that sort of service. As for the used / consignment aspect, it's there, There were a few rolling bodies and fully-built SC trucks and a pretty awesome early 80's Tamiya nitro chassis. On the parts side, it's not like they're selling burned out servos or anything like that. From what I could tell, there were a couple of new-in-box nitro engines on consignment, and pretty much everything else was new. The guy there said lots more inventory was coming, and with such a convenient location, something tells me that I'm gonna have to lock up my credit cards if I don't want to go broke.

They have everything from cars, model planes, warhammer and GUNPLA. I have never seen the neku bosou series and I'm so happy that I found them here. The store is owned by a super nice couple and I am all about supporting small businesses. The prices are also very competitive! Every thing that is marked regular price is 20% off and they have a monthly competition where they gift a buyer $50 if you bought at least $20 worth of stuff. At the time of this review, it was my second visit in 20 days and I still came out with a huge haul (see pic). They are super active on their Facebook page always taking pictures of their latest arrivals. They also hold things for you at your request so that's how I came out with my next series of cats!
