I went back and forth with the thought of getting newborn photos done of our little girl. On a…read morewhim, I found Debra. We chatted and I immediately knew that it had to be done. With a newborn and a husband back at work, Debra worked with our schedule to get us into her amazing studio. I think "amazing studio" is an understatement. She has transformed her home into a place where magic happens. As an art major myself, the numerous backdrops, floors, lighting options, and props galore made me want to spend the day there just looking at everything! Speaking of, we actually DID spend the day there. Our little girl might not have been the most cooperative but Debra has been called the "baby whisperer" for good reason! It took my husband and I by surprise to see Debra work her baby magic since we have been dealing with an ongoing fussy period for weeks now. And, while it took a good handful of hours to get the perfect pics, it was worth every second. I couldn't help feeling giddy as we watched Debra gently position her in adorable baskets under huge studio lights, wrapped into the most angelic moments. Debra calmed all anxieties that I had going into a newborn photo shoot, and honestly, fears that most new parents would have. I wish I had found Debra earlier and made my decision to get these done when our little girl was just days old but am so glad that she worked with us even though Esther was starting not to be itty bitty anymore! I went on craigslist and found Gremillion. Their rates were very reasonable and I really liked what I saw on their website of their work. I booked them to do our engagements, as well as our wedding. Both went great! Uyen is as sweet as can be, and she will get any shot you want. She also came prepared with props....I love props, lol. After our wedding day, all my friends and family went on and on about how great Uyen was. I am very pleased with the end product and feel that Uyen really got to know us. Her photos are awesome, her prices are affordable (so much so that I can hire her more than once a year if I want to!), she gives you the digital images on a disc and her turn around time is ah-mazing!! I had her to come to our house and that's when I found out all the really important stuff about a good photographer. She's really great with kids, she is completely professional, and what is really important when having photos taken of yourself, your family, your whatever is DIRECTION. She gave us great direction so we knew where to look and what to do while she was clicking away. The other really important thing with photos of kids - she was incredible at getting my 8 month old baby to smile and look at the camera! Seriously, I still can't believe how many really great photos she took of us in a half an hour. And then how quickly she had them ready to show us! Sneak peeks were up the next day. We had disc of images in hand three days later! Three days! I love her, she's great. Working with KHP and her all-star team is not just a professional photography session but an experience that allows you to feel good about yourself and have that self shine in a way that feels completely authentic to you. I've had the pleasure of working with Olympia twice now -- once when I needed professionally styled headshots quite quickly for an upcoming feature/publication and once for a lifestyle shoot. To say that their product is top notch is an understatement -- no detail goes unthought of...from styling, hair and makeup, lighting, vision...and it all comes together with this fun, carefree, beautiful experience, working in their studio (and having fun as well) that makes this team worth every penny. They make it feel effortless. They also manage to compress entire sessions and selection process into short time span (though you wont feel rushed) ...genuinely, the work they do in terms of studio time would take most an entire day. While I'm sometimes guilty of gatekeeping treasured finds in austin, it just wouldnt be fair to not shout out praises for Olympia and Korey Howell Photography. A few months back, I logged into a Zoom call and noticed that my awesome headshots from that session didn't really look like me at all anymore. In this post-Covid lockdown world, as we might be tip-toeing slowly and carefully back to the world of in-person meetings and conferences, using an old headshot felt like a little bit of "bait and switch!" Let's face it, hair is longer, skin is still fabulous, but...I'm OLDER. Still awesome, still sassy, but I needed an update. This time I worked with the fabulous Olympia Roll (and again, why on earth would you make this investment without the professional makeup add-on specifically for the photographer?) who "got me" from the first minute. One thing I especially love is the super light touch on touchups and post-processing. These pictures look like me, not an air-brushed, over-filtered, a little too pose-y overly contrived version of me. Now I need to either write a book or run for office (or both! ha!) because she gave me photos that make me look and feel like a BOSS. Thank you!

I recently had my senior photos taken by Kendra and she did an unbelievable job! I'm a rather shy…read moreperson and usually stray away from being in front of the camera, but she made me feel calm and comfortable with my surroundings. She took her time to get the perfect shots and she was always open to any suggestions/ ideas that I had in mind. She never asked me to do a pose if she didn't do it herself first! I could tell that Kendra genuinely loves what she does. I had an hour and a half of shooting time scheduled with her and we ended up spending a solid three hours together. Only around 45 images were stated to be included in the digital cloud but there was well over that amount--they also are watermark free! I had a blast shooting with Kendra and my family and I will definitely use her again in the future.
