Stilwell Station is great. Very nice people and a good spot. Some of the soda is very overpriced but other then that it's great.

It's a very cute smallish spot in a city with a surprising number of decent restaurants - but every city could use one more, right? They have a few tables in the dining room with a fast-food style ordering counter, plus three more tables in a patio area that blends seamlessly into the parking lot. Unfortunately, the promise of this new establishment didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the 1/2 lb Big Daddy Burger for lunch. The burger was shaped more or less like a meatball so while there was plenty of beef, it didn't come close to covering the bun so the proportions didn't seem to fit each other. They use homemade pickles which some people would probably really like, but I'm more of an old fashion Vlasic hamburger pickle kind of guy. On the plus side, you could definitely taste a distinct charcoal flavor in the meat, similar to what a burger at an Independence Day picnic should taste like. My curly fries were fine, but nothing more than what you would purchase in the frozen food section of the grocery store. My wife ordered the wings which are roasted, fried, and then thrown on the grill. It sounds like they went to extra trouble to make the wings, but they were on the small side (as many wings are these days - except for the giant wings at The Peanut locations in the KC area) and the taste wasn't noticeably different from the typical appetizer wings at your nearest sports bar. I've heard that pizza is really their thing and that is what we had hoped to order, if their pizza oven had not been on the fritz. They've only been open a short time, maybe a month or so, and this is the second time I'm aware of that their pizza oven has been non-functional. We plan to give them another chance on a future visit when they get their pizza oven up and running again. But until then, while the food was definitely OK, it's not a place I plan to rush back to.

I got a medium traditional crust as a create your own with those cute little Cupped Pepperonis, Red Onion, and mushrooms. This tasted like it was all fresh ingredients and I could tell it was freshly baked and not sitting around. I really loved that the little pepperonis were crispy and It had toppings all the way to the crust which I prefer as opposed to a thick, giant plain dough ring. I did add my own fresh parmesan, some roasted chili peppers and Sriracha!

The salad was served three minutes after I ordered at the counter, while the slice was served seven minutes later. The house salad had a good variety of fresh veggies, croutons and pepperoni slices with choice of dressing in a nicely sized 7" x 7" container. The slice measured 7" x 5" with a slightly crunchy crust, delicious toppings and plenty of very flavorful sauce. The service at the counter from the manager was first rate - friendly, helpful and cheerful. I noticed a nice, clean dining area with plenty of natural light, four TVs, background music, a Coke dispenser and six beers on tap. The menu included appetizers, pizzas (with four crusts and 32 toppings available), wings, sandwiches, salads and desserts. They also offered daily specials. I wish the pizza slices were bigger than 7" x 5". Overall, very nice.

If you grew up loving Waldo Pizza, this is the review you have been waiting for…read more Waldo Pizza Express in Overland Park has captured exactly what made the original so special. The pizzas are topped with precision -- the right ingredients in the right proportions -- and baked to absolute perfection. For those who prefer to finish at home, the take and bake option is outstanding. Even better, Constantino's carries their pre-wrapped take and bake pizzas ready to grab without any wait. The selection includes cheese, pepperoni, sausage, the beloved Waldo combo, and a chef's choice specialty pizza as well. And for ranch lovers -- they now carry bottled Waldo-branded ranch sauce, which is a wonderful addition. I say all of this as someone who had grown genuinely discouraged by the original Waldo location. The pizzas there became consistently overcooked, and the buffet -- once a highlight -- now serves cold pizza while staff behind the counter enjoy the hot pies fresh out of the oven. That experience was a repeated disappointment and is no longer worth the trip. Waldo Pizza Express in Overland Park has restored my faith entirely. Whether you want a perfectly baked pizza ready to enjoy or a take and bake to finish on your own terms, this location delivers. If you know, you know. I am so grateful to have my Waldo Pizza back -- and I will not be returning to the original location anytime soon.

The service was fantastic. I didn't catch her name but our waitress was kind, and knowledgeable. She explained that everything is made in house, and I love that. There wasn't anything wrong with my pizza, it just was unbalanced. Hence why I'd like to come back and try a couple different options. It was loud as all get out in there, which is to be expected on a Saturday night. Not bothersome, but if you want conversation this is not the place! I'll be back, to give it another go. :)

I happened to be grabbing some supplies at the Ace Hardware nearby and saw Pappos was there and open for business. A large party had just exited and so I grabbed my umbrella after I parked my car and walked in the thunderstorm into the restaurant. At first, I thought it was pretty loud because of the concrete floor and the wooden tables, but as soon as the parents with the screaming baby left, it got much quieter. I was greeted at the bar by the general manager, Alex, who was covering one of her bartenders shifts tonight. She introduced herself immediately and asked my name. She was very kind and welcoming. I commented on the very impressive selection of beers they have. 32 taps on the wall and she is responsible for the selection. I can tell you, Alex has excellent taste! The beer list is voluminous and impressive. I don't drink much beer any more, but I had two delicious ones. The house blonde ale is lovely. I didn't have much room for a salad after a beer so I just went straight to an 8 inch pizza. My wife is currently out of the country and I didn't want to have any leftovers and that was all I could eat. I nearly couldn't finish that. I ordered a meat lovers pizza, and Alex was kind enough to swap out the bacon for mushrooms for me because I don't enjoy bacon on pizzas, or much at all unless it's cooked medium. Crispy bacon grosses me out. I think I'm a weirdo. At least that's what my wife says about my bacon aversion. I got the hand tossed crust, and the pizza itself was very good! Probably top 5 in KC that I've had. Impressive for a chain, though I do not think there are any other locations in the metro. If you like pizza, you definitely need to give this place a shot. There were definitely some regular customers in there having a great time and we were all watching this sport called paddle ball on TV. Fascinating! Anyway, I will be headed back to Pappos for more pizza for sure and also at lunchtime for one of their tasty sandwiches. Five stars all the way!
