I am currently in my 4th lease at Shorewood Apartments and I couldn't be happier. I lived down the…read morestreet at Windsor and Brentwood and have looked into other complexes in the North Providence area. Shorewood made me a little embarrassed I had been spending so much money. At Windsor I had lived in a one bedroom and a two bedroom apartment. The two bedroom was the same sq footage (660) and the one bedroom except for the extra bedroom. At Shorewood I moved into a two story apartment! two bedroom 1.5 bathroom (this is two floors too!) twice the space. I went from 660 sq ft to just under 1100 sq ft. for $120 more. For that $120 Shorewood includes Heat AND Hot Water in their pricing which most complexes in this area do not. What was also appealing to me is Shorewood has a pool which does not incur a $500 per year amenity fee. Yes they have a hot tub and gym at Windsor but the gym is so small that only one person can work out comfortably at a time, hot tub is like warm at best. The maintenance and leasing staff at Shorewood is better too. Having recently changed hands twice, we finally have a leasing agent that promptly returns phone calls, maintenance staff the works around the clock to keep the grounds beautiful and tenants happy. I left Windsor at Brentwood due to pricing and because I had a family of squirrels living in my ceiling. I called up the chain of command telling everyone for 5 Months. No one ever followed up and when my lease was up I just left. At Shorewood, you can put in a work order or request without someone following up or fixing it within 12 hours or so. There was a rodent infestation last fall but the property owners spared no expense handling the situation and I haven't seen a rat since a little after thanksgiving. This of course can all be avoided by tenants picking up after their dogs and not leaving trash on front of the dumpsters. There are plenty of dumpsters around the property, None of them should ever be overflowing. It is not the Shorewood staffs job to go around making sure tenants know how to the trash away. It's actually embarrassing to have such sloppy and careless neighbors. Until tenants respect the property, Shorewood will not get the credit it deserves. Definitely the best return for your money in the North Providence area.

I highly recommend living here for a time.

The apartments are…read morebeautiful with huge windows, lots of natural light, good quality appliances (including in-unit washers and dryers), and plenty of cupboard space. All the neighbors I've met have been friendly, and lots of people have pets, so you're always running into cute dogs in the hallway--who wouldn't love that? The ladies in the leasing office are wonderful, and they've been incredibly helpful any time I had questions, needed to reserve the freight elevator, was late picking up a package, etc. I love the location as well. It's right on the bike/walking path and the neighborhood is quiet, but you're less than 10 minutes away from Route 2 in Warwick, which has any and every store you could ever need, and Route 95, which will get you to the city in like 15 minutes. When I was moving in, I was a bit concerned about being able to hear my neighbors--a common complaint about mill apartments--but I truly never hear the people on either side of me. Once in a while I'll hear the person upstairs walking around, but that will happen in any apartment. You can tell they made an effort to put in good insulation, and I appreciate it. The only thing I would note is that there's a very limited number of overnight visitor's parking spots, especially considering the number of apartments. However, my visitors have never had an issues parking, so I guess it works. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment community. As someone who's lived in numerous apartments over the past several years, this has been one of my best experiences.

Very quiet for an apartment community. High ceilings, reclaimed hardwood floors, upgraded fixtures, huge windows that run the height of the wall, secured entryways -- luxury look and feel to this place! Also, lots of amenities: indoor half-court basketball, billiards/rec room, fitness center, small library, community lounges with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi in some common areas, etc. And the front office and maintenance staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. The couple of times I've needed something done it's taken care of the next day by the time I return home from work. I rent a "tandem" parking space long enough to fit two cars for $50/mo just for convenience and predictability, but when I get home (often pretty late or early morning) there are always still several unreserved spaces on the bottom level that are still open (in other words, while you may not park right next to the building, there will always be open spaces that aren't more than a 15-second walk to the building). All in all a great place to live!

I am sorry I never hear it! If something goes wrong in your apartment and you report it to the office maintenance comes and fixes the problem. If you are respectful to the staff you will get respect back. I have witnessed many people fly off the handle for no reason. Some times we damand to much when we are not intitled to it. remeber kindness. You get more bee's with honey not vinegar. You have a gym some dont bother to take care of it they just come use it and dont bother to treat the room with respect. There for use it like yyou paid for it! There is a pool. Yes a pool right you dont have to drive to the beach! There is plenty of shopping and resturants in the area. like two minutes away. most of the people are very friendly you get a couple of discruntle people like every place you go. Not everyone is all happy with rainbows over there heads. Like every other place you sign a lease some people sign and dont read the fine print. Then when they move out they are up in arms about what they have to pay for.REMENBER read befor you sign. The cost of rent is in BLACK AND WHITE when you agree to pay the rent then cry after its, your own fault you know what your paying for rent before you sign that lease. Great schools as well, Private and Public. So you have the convienve of the pool, the gym and they have a trash pick up at your door every night at 6pm (you must not leave yourtrash out befor 5 pm unless you want crittters right) It is a complimentry service Sunday - Thursday Friday and Saturdays no pick up. You can also have pets just ask what the procedure is for dogs and cats! they have dog trash bins and baggies all over the complex. You have the convience of Stop and Shop Plaza WITH MANY SHOPS AROUND IT. Also about 10 minutes away off 295 you have Smithfield Crossings with Daves marlet and Khols Target ect. More place to eat and shop. Then about 20 minutes away any direction there are malls and movie theaters! Cinemea world in Lincon has a movie theater and an Arcade is comming in a few weeks! There is also a huge playground and track about two minutes away there are many family events that g on for family fun or just a couple walk hand and hand. PEERLESS Firstly,…read morelet me say that I've only lived here about a week. So far, I've had more pros than cons. Pros: Staff is very friendly, and always willing to help with whatever issues I may have. Security is good, and you never worry while coming home late. It's simply a beautiful building with a very interesting past. It used to be a club that would play some real headliners. My apartment is spacious and bright, with original floors and all. Cons: It's very noisy on weekends (but of course it would be as any place would that's surrounded by bars) The windows (this is a personal issue, and not something that is really a complaint) I'm short. Opening those windows were a real struggle and now I can't close them because I can't reach. This mean's I'll have to call maintenance for a ladder each time I want them opened or closed. The food dispenser was clogged and the washer was filthy, again a personal problem because they offered to clean and fix everything before I moved in but I chose to move in sooner rather than later, not giving them time to fix the issue. The only real issue I have is that there are fruit flies in my apartment and they are PERSISTENT. Having worked in the bar industry for five years, you'd think I would be able to get rid of them but they just keep breeding. I don't know if this is a maintenance issue that I can call them on, or if I have to call some form of pest control. The only reason it bothers me so much is because my kitchen is always clean, and yet they are just here. I hate that they keep getting into my cat's food when I leave it out for her. ALL IN ALL, I would def recommend the peerless building for anyone wanting to be downtown.
