Awesome grand opening for the Smyrna location! The community has been anxiously awaiting the opening for over two years. There were delays that pushed back the original 2025 opening to 2026. The location is on a patch of green that's across from the Smyrna Community Center and Village Green. It's off Atlanta Road and the perfect place to walk up, grab a brew on tap and watch a game, chat with friends and it's dog friendly. The Stillfire store is full of merchandise - tees, hats, stickers and more for the diehard fans. There's a walk e dedicated to the founding members who contributed to crowdfunding. Lots of restrooms - inside on both levels and the outdoor bar. Seating is plentiful and there's a 2nd floor which I didn't even get to. Food will be provided by local food trucks - tacos, cheesesteaks, pizza and others to come. This was such a cool experience and Smyrna will attract more to this area with the opening of the brewery. Welcome to Smyrna Stillfire!

The beer, environment, and service is great! Beto's is really good, even though they only have the food truck currently.

This place really surprised me!…read more So much good beer and the beer was TOP NOTCH. The flight in a cupcake/muffin pan was a little different but nevertheless the beer is great. We went 2 times in one day. Plenty of seating for families and/or couples. They have heated lamps near and really good options here. I'd 100% recommend this place.

The interior was fairly large, but a good half was separated by the large storage tankers and equipment. There were plenty of picnic style tables on either side of the bar though so seats were aplenty. There were also some high table top style seats and a few comfy seats near the goat paintings. Yes, there are goat paintings. Additionally there were two old school game consoles, but only was working. But it was a two for one game: Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. This was free to play! And of course there were two T.V.'s with some sort of game playing in the background. Now for the alcohol itself... I tried a beer that had Naughty in its name which was fruity and had a low IBU (International Bitter Units). The strawberry margarita was super strong. But then again, I was sipping from the very bottom. I also sampled the hubs' stout and a watermelon lime beer to which both were pretty tasty. The vibe here was chill as it should be. One guy was super friendly throughout the whole evening engaging us in conversation and willing to help me find the perfect beer pairing according to my taste buds with a few sampling.

I quickly reviewed the menu and ordered an American IPA that I had never tried before called Perfect Match. I really enjoyed it because it had great flavor, but was not too hoppy. I noticed the place was very pet friendly and a couple dogs came over to visit with us. We did not stay long, but it was a very good experience and we will definitely have to come back to try some other offerings.

We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and had issue finding parking in their main lot. There is an overflow lot behind the building and there is signage to direct there if needed. When we arrived, we smelled something delicious coming from the on-site food truck, heard some great live music coming from inside and there were a ton of folks inside and outside just having a good ol time. Once we walked inside, there was plenty of beer on tap but I appreciated that there were frozen drinks available and with their partnership with Urban Tree, I was excited to see some of my old favorite ciders. The guy that helped me was super sweet and helpful. He made some great suggestions and I had a vodka blueberry lemonade, came back later for a water-marita which was my favorite. We order some loaded fries from their onsite food truck and the fries were amazinggggg! Huge portion, hot, and just the right amount of food. They have plenty of other stuff on the menu but the fries were good enough for the both of us. I totally forgot what drink my husband got but I do remember he enjoyed them. We had a great time just people watching, listening to music and chatting with folks. This is a good place to just come and hang for awhile for sure and we'll be back sooooooon.

Like your favorite piece of music or your most prized work of literature, the Bold Monk exists to bring comfort in your time of leisure. It's a beautifully decorated massive venue, with two full floors of service and also features a beer garden. Bold Monk is a place to simply be...to be satisfied, to be joyous, to be connected, to be well. To be yourself! We ordered some beers (note: they also offer a full bar and many cocktail options) and two appetizers (salmon dip & the bitterballen). My absolute favorite was salmon dip. My only complaint is that they didn't provide enough toast. The salmon tasted fresh, loved the texture and seasoning and it was light while also filling. Overall it was a positive experience. The price point was fare considering the offerings and quality and the service was great!

This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

Service was quick and friendly, and we were seated at an outdoor table that had a great view of the area. But the food! I got the brisket "burger", which is actually a chopped brisket sandwich, and it was really, really good. The fried brussels sprouts are amazing, with an Asian chili kind of sauce. BF ordered the smoked chicken plate and I was like, yeah that sounds kinda boring but what came to the table was actually so good I wished I'd ordered that too. He liked his Brunswick stew but would skip the jalapeno cornbread next time because it was just ok. We didn't have the kids with us, so I had a spicy marg that had big slices of jalapenos in it, and it was pretty good for the price. I'd definitely come back here if in the area.
