Farmers breakfast with a spicy bloody. Good morning Wisco!
    Candice M.

I sure do love small town U.S.A. warm welcome on a cold Saturday. Weekends are for bloody Mary's and we try a new one every Saturday. Here we are. This breakfast is off the chain good. The farmers breakfast has thick slice and smoked bacon, sausage and a slab of tasty ham. It was so good. Hubby got the biscuits and gravy and loved every bite. The bloodys. We get them spicy with Tito's and it was good. Overall the best part of this place is the friendly people. When you're new to a spot often people wonder where you've come from. This place, they made Sure to say come back again next week. Came for the bloody. Returning for the people and the smoked bacon. What a great find.

Visiting from Michigan and absolutely amazing! Husband and I tried the food the night before and the Services & Food was dynamic. We ordered Walleye and Haddock. The meals came with choice of soup/salad and choice of potatoes. So filling, delicious, and there were leftovers because the portions are incredible. Back again today for breakfast. Absolutely amazing! Portions were incredible again and the food was incredibly delicious. The Haddock and eggs with potatoes was the best that we've ever had. Craig our server and bar tender was spot on and very personable. Very kind and humorous. The rest of the staff to include Rick, Kathy, Alexis, Allie, Jenny, Loren, Rob and Jen are so hard working and dedicated to their customers, whom by the way they treat like family. We walked in as strangers and we left feeling like family. Thumbs up to everyone and can't wait to see you again.

Food is the best. Awesome bloody Marys. Home baked today and cookies are great with your breakfast.

    Looks interesting.

I specifically picked this place to stop for breakfast which was a 7 mile round trip off the highway on the way to where I was going because of the awesome ham and eggs breakfast picture that is on yelp. The place is old looking with a nice bar on one side and a dining area behind it. I was seated promptly and given a menu and water and opened them menu. To my surprise the breakfast menu is the last two pages with less than 20 options and ham and eggs is not on the menu but ham is a side option. Ok the sausage and eggs is on the menu so I ordered that and I was told that's the Wednesday to Saturday breakfast menu and I need to order off the Sunday menu on the right so I look the small menu over and nothing appeals to me. I say I don't want the special omelette, I don't want the 18 oz steak and eggs and I don't want the wali and eggs. I want sausage eggs and toast a traditional breakfast and she says that she can check with the kitchen because they are set up for the Sunday breakfast menu only, really because my kitchen is set up for what ever I decide I want to cook. I tell her don't bother because I'm not going to be forced to order a breakfast that I don't want just because I'm already seated so I got up and walked away saying I will have breakfast somewhere else. Really because everything is already on the Sunday breakfast menu in a different dish, give me the wali and eggs with toast, hold the wali and give me breakfast sausage in its place is what I should have ordered LOL LOL to screw with my server. The bottom line is what I was being told was super stupid and if they are so rigid with the menu that I can't get a breakfast that I want when the have all the ingredients already is just asinine.

The Bavarian Breakfast. Spectacular. Amazing. Perfect!

I have to be honest here, this place is amazing. On the way here, I thought I probably should have packed a snack. It is that far in the middle of nowhere. But after leaving, I would go back tenfold. It was packed this Sunday in everyone covered in Green and Gold. Amazing. We were seated right away at the bar, which was actually a neat place to be. Our server brought us water and drinks right away, and took our orders. She informed us that since it was so busy (which was quite obvious), that it would be a while for our food. It was great of her to let us know ahead of time, and it made our wait actually more enjoyable. I ordered the Bavarian Breakfast, and it was amazing. Seriously. I wanted to eat every bite but I just couldn't take it all down. Then I made the biggest mistake: I tried the homemade bread and homemade jam. It was dessert to my mouth. It was unbelievable. I would have ate ten pieces of that alone. I highly suggest asking for your bread and jam before your breakfast. It's worth it (especially if they're really busy). Overall, the place is adorable, its a perfect cozy little restaurant with great food. I highly suggest it.

There is some special food to be had in this part of Wisconsin, I am a huge fan of the Green Fountain Inn and the Secret Garden just a few blocks away, and now Sulten Belly. We were greeted as we entered and given some clarity of the process so there was no confusion. I liked that we found a seat and took our time with the menu before I went to the ordering station, ordered, paid, and received a number for the table. I'm not exactly pleased with the modern method of tipping before you even see the food, but I paid cash so I could add more to the tip jar if deserved. Oh yeah, if you pay by card they tack on 4%. Bring your cash, they discourage cards. Where I live (Laguna Beach, CA) , some restaurants are the other way. They are not accepting cash and only take alternate card or digital payments. I ordered Mr. Beefy, a delicious smoked beef tenderloin panini sandwich with melted provolone cheese that really hit the spot. The beef tasted like it had been braised in wine, just wonderful for $16.50. Also excellent was the Sulten Belly Favorite Salad that was with assorted fresh greens and bacon, $13.50. The staff here were all friendly and helpful. It was a nice cozy vibe without the bright lights. I will be back. They also have premade frozen dishes available that look pretty good.

While I can't confidently say this is the best joint in Wisconsin, it certainly has to be up there insofar as central Wisconsin establishments. The lasagna, being so meaty, hearty and flavorful you'd swear it came from an authentic Italian hole-in-the-wall. The pulled pork (drenched in their bbq sauce) just shines as bright as any respectful bbq place. The barbecue pastrami sandwich (go figure), was pretty insane, too. No, I haven't been to every supper club or obscure restaurant in Central Wisconsin. But having frequented "up north Wisconsin" (family owns a lake house up there) since I was 5 years old, not once could I remember a place that I felt had better food. Whenever I make the trek up from Illinois, I always stop in, as well as grab one of their frozen lasagnas or bbq chili bowls to go. That's saying something.

We arrived around 9 am on a Wednesday and it was very busy--they had already sold out of one of the breakfast specials. Dawn was our server and she was very pleasant and helpful when I had a question about the menu. My guy had two blueberry pancakes with bacon, and I had biscuits & gravy with hash browns. When you enter, you walk straight ahead to the counter to order. It has a large dining area with plenty of natural light from the large windows. The design is upbeat and fun. When we arrived, around 1pm, there were only a few small groups. We got to order right away, a couple of salads and iced tea. They give you a number placard, which you take to the table, and then they deliver the food. The server was pleasant and helpful. It was cold and windy outside, and unfortunately it wasn't much warmer inside. We went to find a table somewhere warm and not made colder by the doors that led directly outside, since there is no vestibule. No luck, the place was just cold. Good thing I had my knit hat. After a short while, we got our two salads. I got the Empire Pecan Salad, and my partner got the Southwest Chicken Salad. They looked great. Plenty of mixed ingredients, good portions, and everything was fresh. Much of the time when you get a good salad, it's only the top layer and everything below is lettuce. These salads were full of tasty stuff all the way to the bottom. Might be one of the best salads I have had in this class of restaurants. So our visit was mixed. The food was very good, but it was so cold inside that it made things uncomfortable. Even though we were away from the front door, there is a side door that people kept exiting from, and the cold air just blew right through the place. We would come back, just not during the cold months.
