To say we were blown away by the quality is a complete understatement. The session was efficient, he understood exactly what my husband wanted, and we got the digital image quickly (we didn't order prints). While my husband was recognized as an expert in his field before, he is now getting recognition beyond anything he could have imagined, and his headshot is all over. I know this made a huge difference, there is no way NASA, Lufthansa and multipe others would be advertising him as a "top class" expert with a selfie or a casual shot taken with an iPhone. We were so satisfied we decided to set up a session with my son for his senior portraits. My kid is surly and hates being photographed, and mostly refuses to smile (probably shouldn't have spent thousands of dollars on braces ) Over the course of 1.5 hours Jared probably took 400 pictures, but made my son feel so at ease, he never complained, the time flew by, and he was so proud of the results. It was very difficult narrowing it down to the 8 we finally chose but he looks like an Armani model in all of them and I am serious when I tell you that is no mean feat. He is a good looking kid but hates, hates, hates this kind of stuff and how Jared managed to capture such exquisite pictures of him that really display his personality, I'll never know. So when we started to look for a wedding photographer, we thought of him first. He's slightly more expensive than others, but he is worth every penny spent! If possible, I would recommend talking to him before even booking your venue because he's so experienced with the DMV area and knows so many good venues that would be photogenic. He's responsive, on time, and very professional. For example, on our wedding day, my mother's makeup was running late, but my wife wanted to get a picture with her before we headed out to the first look. Based on his years' experience, Carl immediately told the makeup artist just to put on the lipstick first for my mother and snapped a few shots for us. Even now, my mother still mentions how great and decisive he was that day! Carl was funny, decisive/efficient, and great with all my wedding party (including our 3-year-old flower girl), as well as with both sides of parents. His ability to speak Mandarin Chinese was the cherry-on-top, as he could communicate with many of our guests that way! His assistant Chuck (who covered me & the groomsmen during getting-ready) was also excellent; he made sure we all felt comfortable and natural in front of the camera by laughing along with us and being extremely personable. And with the extra hour we paid for his shooting, we ended up getting quite a few more really good pics. We got introduced to Rago months before the wedding date but he was involved and communicative the entire time. Him and his team showed up early, got the best poses and were so helpful and kind. They got a lay of the venue the day before so knew where they wanted to take photos and videos. We got sneak peeks literally the day after (or even the night of) and were over the moon to see the final results. Final pictures and videos were ready 2-3 weeks later and reliving the best day ever over and over is such a joyful experience.
