My wife and I searched high and low for a vendor to complement our photographer and capture our May 2007 wedding. We found expensive ones with a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles and then we found John Rose. Our first meeting was in a MD chain restaurant. He reminded me of a car salesman who was learning the ropes. He was nervous and he was just starting his own business. However he brought a mini dvd player and showed us a sample dvd of his past weddings. He offered more affordable packages and a greater sense of photojournalism. My wife and I shopped around and thought that the other vendors did not fit our budget or style. We took a gamble on our man. I enjoyed working with him before, during and after the ceremony and reception. I don't remember saying more than 4 words to him and his team the entire night; he and the equipment were incognito. He also worked well with our photographer (sometimes vendors can "fight" for better shots). Our final product, received within 2.5 months, is a work of art, from the DVD case design to the chapter menus and footage. It's like watching a movie (not just Uncle Bob's raw footage). Although he is located in MD and serves primarily MD, DC and VA, he is willing to travel for a nominal fee. I would be willing to answer questions (PM me) and vouch for him. We appreciated that they charge a la carte, because none of the other photographers' packages seemed to fit us just right. We were able to bring them in for the entire day (12 hours!) and spend our money having them there instead of on 5x7 prints afterwards that we don't really want. Overall, they were very prompt with communicating throughout the whole process and were great with both phone calls and emails. We did an engagement session with John a few months before the wedding during a weekend we were in town. We had never gotten a photo session before. John was so relaxing and totally understood our apprehension, and he took the time to show us how to look more natural. Overall, he spent 4 hours with us at 3 locations, which was way above and beyond. On the wedding day, he showed up on time, ready to work. He stuck to the timeline perfectly without being stressed about it. When we went over a bit getting ready, he let me know off to the side and we worked out a plan to get back on track. He brought along an assistant, which meant we had two photographers all day. My single complaint was that during the formal posed photos, we hit a snafu in that people who weren't supposed to be there showed up. I think it threw Kevin for a loop because he wasn't very able to flex. I tried to sneak in a few photos on his list to make the extras not feel unwelcome, but he didn't really get it and they felt a bit excluded. He got a little upset that I was changing things last minute; however, John was so accommodating and great about it that it ended up being fine and we got the photos we needed. My photos turned out GREAT. They even got them to me promptly- I had all of the photos within ten days of my wedding! I highly recommend them!

She provided us a welcome guide that gave tips on how to prepare and what to expect, which was very helpful. During the actual shoot, Belle came to our house and of course had safe Covid practices. She would ask us to adjust our baby as needed and she was very sweet and patient. She took tons of pictures and let our daughter do her own thing without forcing poses and made it all natural. Whenever our daughter started fussing, Belle would tell us to take a break and let the baby calm down and even waited for her to be fed.
