Smokey jalapeno, cilantro, onion, tomatillo, garlic, and other spices combined to make some of the best salsa I have had. Excellent. I was seated quickly and offered a menu, also advised about the lunch buffet, that day being hamburger steak and meatloaf. I was hesitant at first, because it's been my experience neither of those do well on a buffet, but when the customer next to me heard "meatloaf", she said "Is today meatloaf day?" with a favorable tone, so I decided to give it a shot. I love a good buffet and this one did not disappoint. The salad bar ($3.99 adder) was a solid old school salad bar. Plenty of toppings, enough to make a good meal on. The buffet consisted of the aforementioned meats, along with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, a pan of fried onions (NICE touch), corn, carrots and a couple other vegetable choices I didn't take advantage of. The meatloaf was some of the best I've had in diners, despite being on a buffet. Surprisingly, the hamburger steak was not at all dried out and had a really robust flavor. The potatoes were good, not sure if they were scratch or not, but they were good nonetheless. The gravy was for sure a packet mix, and it wasn't holding well on the steam table, but it was decent anyway. Service was outstanding, food was good and the price was reasonable. That's a win in my book.
