Food, service, and overall restaurant was fine, however at the end when it came time to settle the bill, I tried to pay with my credit card. They asked if I could pay in cash because they were out of receipt paper. We explained we didn't need a receipt and they said they could try to run it. They then did, it went through, I saw it on their machine and I got an alert on my phone that I was charged.
They said okay but came back and said it didn't I went back to look at my charges but was so flustered I didn't see it. I then asked where the ATM was and as I was walking there I double checked my account and then I saw the charge. I went back and showed them and they said okay. Normally, I would say this is just a fluke, however, 3 days prior I went to the Stiegl in Vienna and they also asked if I could pay with cash cause their machine was broken even though it seemed to work fine. My bill was 31.00 and it wouldn't go through then they said they needed to try and run it for 35, and it went through and they gave me 4 euros in cash. I find it odd that two different locations within a week had similar issues. When I have not had this issue anywhere in Austria except there. Left a bad taste in my mouth for Stiegl. read more
