One of the finest meals of my life on a cold winter night. Every Austrian city that relies on…read moretourism has a selection of various restaurants serving the same (nearly identical!) selection of traditional Austrian and Tyrolean favorites. You know the menu before you even see it. Anich is, in my opinion, the very best of them all. Be aware that the food is HEAVY and served in large portions. If you order one of the classic popular meat dishes (roast pork, schnitzel, goulash, etc) you should either be very hungry, prepared to share, or willing to ask for a takeout box. It's a ton of food and it's all stellar. I'm trying and failing to think of something we ordered there that was less than delicious and I can't. The service was not especially fast but I don't mark this kind of restaurant down for that because the meal is supposed to be a slow one. The local wine selection is excellent as is the beer. During a very crowded time you may be asked to share a large table with strangers or so we heard, but in my visits I never saw this happen. It was winter. Summer may be a different story. The building is lovely as are the several dining rooms. If you're looking for a light meal go elsewhere. If you want to be stuffed with dumplings, meat, gravy, and all that great stuff don't go elsewhere.

Love this place!!…read more First off - Make a reservation ... this place gets busy. Rightfully so! Menu changes daily .. but I can say with confidence that everything we had was amazing. I had the tomato salad starter - the tomatoes were so sweet and the dressing was mind blowing! For my main course, I had the seasonal vegetables that came with a small schnitzel...That whole combination was a big burst of flavors.. so incredibly delicious. To end we shared a peach cobbler with gelato .. wow... it was sooooo good!! Perfect last night dinner in town. Would I go back? YES!!! For sure!

I counted about 45 guests that they had to turn away due to lack of a reservation. Good for them to desire to maintain excellent service for those who intentionally make this restaurant a destination. The pan fried gnocchi was excellent, blending innovation with vibrant sauces and beautiful presentation. Very balanced flavors that blended on the plate and did not interfere with other flavors. The pork neck tasted tender with a crispy exterior to create a satisfying mouth feel. Well paired with roasted and seasoned potato. The ginger mousse was unique. It is a savory finish that may not appeal to some. I expected a stronger ginger flavor. I definitely want to return

It was a Saturday evening (granted, it was just as the place had opened) and it was dark and dead. When we sat at the bar and ordered our beers, I mentioned the lack of music to the bartender. His reply was that he had just stepped foot into the bar. No excuse, really. If you know you're opening, you should have everything ready. I thought he would go and turn on some lights and get some music going, but he never did. He just disappeared for long while. Never engaged us in conversation. Not the typical friendly personality of a bartender. If you're looking for some good Irish ambience, don't bother coming here.

When you're looking for a cool place in a somewhat sleepy town an Irish bar should do the job... So…read morewe got here on a Thursday night to have a drink and enjoy some Irish/local ambience (we didn't really care as long as there would be people around) So once you enter the little passage and go all the way to the end- it's right there. It was rather empty but there was this loud (very loud) group sitting at the back of the bar, the a acoustics are so bad that we could barely hear ourselves talk with the amount of noise they made. The place is self service - you order at the bar, doesn't say so, or at least we didn't see any sign mentioning this.. But the lack of waitress kinda clears it out. The bartender is really nice and serves the drinks rather quick. We took a strongbow which was really good but my friend ordered a Kilkenny which tasted funny and had no gas. After getting a headache and one friend disappointed we decided to leave and go somewhere else. The prices are ok and the music is good, so maybe with a different blend of people the place would be nicer.
