This is a review for the Natick, Mass Stickley Audi & Co. My husband and I were in search of quality furniture (we love Arts and Crafts style) to replace our worn out, out of date stuff and after visiting several furniture showrooms in the Boston area without finding anything we liked (and that was well made) we checked out Stickley. We were greeted by a friendly sales person who did not hover as we looked around and then helped us very patiently pick out fabric for the Stickley settee we picked out. We ended up purchasing a beautiful dresser, settee, and morris chair that were delivered with care. We have enjoyed these pieces plus a mission bed and end table added later now for a decade all still looking beautiful and timeless. All the Stickley furniture we have purchased has held up very well even through several house moves and I highly recommend their gorgeous well made pieces. read more

We've long been fans of the Arts and Crafts style including furniture made by Gustav Stickley. Those original antique pieces are still available but at very dear prices. The Arts and Crafts movement was in particular vogue between 1880 and 1910 and began in Britain. Its influence however continued well into the 1930s and of course it is still popular with many people today. It was inspired by the English artist William Morris whose designs are still available and being produced in many forms such as wallpaper, prints and other decorative arts. The idea behind the Arts and Crafts movement and design was in reaction to the Industrial Revolution and the fact that things had started to be made by machine. These artists wanted to return to traditional, hand-crafted items using simple (vs ornate) forms. It was believed both in Britain and then in the US when the movement spread here, that these simple designs would make for a more beautiful, more rational and more harmonious society. Lofty ideals indeed! Gustav Stickley who was born in Wisconsin, (1858-1942) was a furniture maker and designer who believed deeply in the American Craftsman style. He believed in the ideals of simplicity, honesty and truth and felt his furniture espoused these attributes. This style of design is also referred to as "Mission" although Stickley preferred that it be known as Craftsman style. Another variation of this design sensibility can be found in the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright whose work has come to be known as the Prairie School Design. I have been known to fly around the country in years past to visit the various homes FLW designed. Taliesin in Wisconsin is one of my all time favorites. The house and furnishings are beautiful, simple and calming. It's easy to understand how these designers became so lofty in their ideals for what this style represents; they were right!. Craftsman style furniture is typically made in oak or cherry with clean lines and is fairly unadorned and using hammered metal hardware in either iron or patinated copper. Cushions are either in leather or fabric. I think if going the fabric route it's important to find one that is in keeping with the design, so perhaps William Morris inspired. Some of Stickley's vintage pieces are now running in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and have become ultra collectible. But never you mind, if you like this style, Stickley Audi is a great company to find your furniture. The design sensibilities have been kept in tact and the pieces are beautifully made. We have a few pieces of antique Stickley but recently have added to our collection with some new things. A few weeks ago we purchased a dresser for a spare bedroom and just this past Saturday we stopped by here to order a chair for our family room. I now have my eye on a new dining room table and chairs. The salesperson who helped us was Robin and she was terrific, knowledgeable and patient. I was happy to seal the deal with her. I'm very happy to have this store nearby. It's a gem. read more

They have a great showroom, never had a problem with delivery, quality, etc. Always fun to go to the showroom and see what's available to take home from the floor. My experience in the store was nice, my sales lady was helpful and knowledgeable. However, since then I've been incredibly disappointed by my experience. After waiting 10 weeks to get my desk I called to get a status update on my order. I was told that their computers are down and that they can't check any orders, however I was assured that they would be up soon and that I would receive updates. Two weeks after that first call (and three additional call attempts) and their computers are still down and I haven't received a single call following up. Im perplexed at how a company does business like this? I'm not planning on shopping here again when/if I get my furniture. read more

One star, because zero, or less is not an option. Everyone's review reflects their individual experience with the company, so I'm only sharing my experience. You may have a great experience with them, and many clearly have. I did not. I purchased two things, a mattress and two stressless chairs. The buying (in store) experience. And there it ended. I was to get a call about the delivery estimate, nothing. I call the store, my sales person isn't available. The person who answered the phone was too busy to answer my question - literally what I was told. Call back tomorrow, this call is over. Tomorrow, no sales person, same woman who said she was a designer and couldn't be bothered to track my order. May I speak with a manager, he's not there. Call tomorrow. I emailed, and contacted a number off the website, and I received a text message from someone who seemed helpful. All I wanted was a delivery estimate, and failing that cancel my order - I can take my business elsewhere. Brief text message conversation, will speak with manager and call tomorrow. Everyone is working hard, it is covid, be considerate I was told. Then I got ghosted. We are all working hard in the midst of covid, that's no excuse for poor customer service. Not a single call from them to tell me when my order would arrive, and out of the blue, a call from a delivery company - my stuff will be delivered the coming Saturday. I have no idea whether this was an in-house delivery company, or some third party. But the dude showed up, and did not have a mask, and seemed surprised that I asked him to wear one. Both people who did the delivery found masks, completed their delivery and left. The arm of my stressless chair was loose/broken, and needed to be assembled properly (which it wasn't). I won't say your experience with them will be horrible. Mine was. You may have a great experience, but I will never, ever go back to this place. But, your name may not sound like mine (yeah, some comments were made about my name), and you may not care to know when your stuff will be delivered, your mileage may vary. Mine was horrible. My wife and I returned to the Natick store several months after furnishing a great room with two large sofas, two upholstered swivel chairs, ottoman, 9x12 rug and decorative pillows. Michael and Ellen were again extraordinarily helpful as we chose a decorative chest and additional pillows. They should be applauded for their good taste, professionalism, willingness to work after hours to complete the selection process (without pressure). We will certainly choose Stickley first for any high quality home furnishings. And, you should as well! I am a physician and I have no tolerance for mediocrity. Hi, Dealt with them June 2017 :((( I am writing the review very late almost 6 months later when I received the product. Now - looking at the product every time makes me think that the store really stole my money providing me such a poor quality of this piece of furniture that does not even cost not more than $150. I ordered a black leather oval ottoman 47" that was charged to my account $1600. We worked with a great sale representative who was very descriptive about the product. A week later I decided to cancel the order when I called her she said "the order has taken to the factory and $500 will be charged to your account if it is cancelled". Then I went to store for the replacement but again it did not work out well as they did not have much products on the catalog so I continued with my order. She promised me it would look good once it comes out. first they took longer to build, then finally, after 4 months the product was made, and we picked it up, I was so disappointed seeing the product when I brought it home because it was all packed. My husband wanted me to return and asked me to write the review but I felt like not hurting them and go through so much trouble. However some reason I am thinking to bring the awareness to the community that please never order any piece of the furniture from Stickley Audi &co , please pick up what you see on the store floor. I know my $1600 are all wasted and it won't be returned. But I do not want anyone else to waste their money including me repeating that mistake order from the store. Ordered a sofa in September. Was told 10 to 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, I called and was told that it was still in production and they would get back to me the next week with a date. I was not contacted. I called again 12/27 and was told that everything was closed until 1/2, but she would call and let me know the status. I had to call her again on 1/4 and was told that it was in transit from NC to MA, but since it first has to go to NY, it could still be a few more weeks. THEY LIE! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! read more

Went this store in end of October to buy a love seat and sale person Victoria Read Promised, that we will have our piece of furniture in March. She said, other store will lie to us for the dates, but she, again, promise, that we will have it in March as this future made in US, North Carolina. All promises and promises. In early December we got email, that we will get our love seat in May and done, nothing updates or any other words from her. Promises were forgetting. I called at the end of the May, she again promises that at the end of June we will have our love seat. No more updates at all. I called her again, she was not working, but inn main office they told me, that she will call back. Did you think she did, of course not. I called back, she said she will call me back as she finds out about our furniture. And again didn't call back. When I called her back, she sad, she was with clients. Then who am I? And of course promises that love seat will be soon, who knows when. Only promises, but no furniture. Then why not to say at start, that she doesn't know, when we will have this seat, why not to be honest like other sale persons? I don't recommend this store, or this sale person. You will lose money, time and will not get what you want. read more

We have made two purchases from Stickley Audi in Natick over the past 10 years and just placed a third order. All in all, we have been very favorably impressed not only with the quality of the furniture but also with the woman we worked with each time (Robin). One of the things we respect most about Robin's approach is that she has never tried to "upsell" us on more expensive material, accessories, protection plans, or anything else. She certainly let us know what the options were, which we appreciated, but she never pushed. When we asked about structuring the timing of our purchase to benefit from what we think will be an upcoming sales tax free weekend in Massachusetts, she told us about a different way we could save even more money, even though we presume it would result in a smaller commission for her. The first piece we got was a leather sleep sofa (with a super comfy air mattress). The sofa continues to be in amazing shape nearly 10 yrs later. The second piece was a stained oak harvest table and that is a beautifully constructed piece of furniture too, now about 8 yrs old. We just ordered a leather recliner chair to replace a set of very expensive Barcalounger recliners that we purchased at Bloomingdale's, which are now virtually worthless because the "leather" turned out to be "bicast leather," which is not actually real leather. Stickley, by the way, does not sell anything covered with bicast. For those with SAT withdrawal, "bicast" is to "leather" like "particle board" is to "wood." As a result, bicast cracks and peels even when well cared for, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to repair it. Yes, Stickley does tend to be more expensive than many other furniture lines but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Of course, if you buy a Stickley piece and keep it just for one or two years, you will probably feel like you paid a lot for your purchase. If you keep it for five years, you will still wind up with a top quality piece that holds up far better than the average and you'll know you got good value for money. If you keep it for 10, 20 or even more years (which you can expect assuming you take reasonably good care of your purchase), you will sleep soundly knowing you made a really smart purchase AND got a screaming good deal. One last word about reading and interpreting Yelp reviews: I tend to look past individual and even average ratings to see what's beneath the surface. I am usually suspicious of (and ignore) restaurants or other establishments when they only have a few ratings and they are all 5-star reviews contributed by people for whom this is their first and only yelp review. It's fairly obvious, after all, when attempts are made to "game" the system - who doesn't have a few relatives, friends or people who owe them favors, or even fake new email addresses? Similarly, when you look at reviews for places like this one, you see a couple of 5-star reviews and a couple of 1-star ones. What's up with that? For an answer, take a look at the other reviews these people contributed. The frequency, pattern, and quality of these reviews can tell you a lot. If the "review pattern" for the two "one-star" people isn't readily apparent, feel free to contact me and I'll share my thoughts. And BTW, I have zero personal connection with this place or anything else I review on Yelp. I've bought a few items here over the past three years and my only regret is that I didn't start earlier. The service is terrific and the quality is really as good as it gets. Stickley produces fine art furniture. Their pricing is very fair. It is rather expensive but it will last more than a lifetime. I look at the furniture I bought in 2003 when we moved into our current home and I can't really even sell it. There's ALWAYS a market for Stickley furniture and the price you sell it for is often more than you paid for it. Now that is value. read more

Buying from Stickley has been the worst consumer experience of our lives. We spent nearly 10K on a dining room set and had to wait for 4 months to receive it after they lost the order and the the factory shut down. They originally told 6-8 weeks. Then when it arrived it was wrong! So we had to wait for the next version and it was stained incorrectly! We originally ordered this table in April and here it is the beginning of October and they still have not gotten it right. Very little remorse by the Natick staff for this debacle. There is a real disconnect between the showroom and the factory. I wonder how this company has stayed in business this long. I'll never spend a dime at this company again. They should drive down the road to Jordans to see how to do business as we have done business with them for years and never had a problem. read more
