I recently went on vacation and my husband rented a manual shift car, which I do not know how to drive. It scared me, like, what if something happens and I need to drive my family? I won't know what I'm doing! I asked my hubs to give me a lesson and it was no good. So upon returning home, my husband bought me lessons from here.
I scheduled it for a Sunday midday and was contacted by my instructor via text with confirmation of date and time. A couple days before, I was sent a reminder, and the day of, shown a nice map of exactly where we'd be meeting in this huge parking lot.
Garrett was my instructor and he was great! I drove his car and he was patient on explaining what to look for and many of the exercises were done in neutral or first gear which is the most difficult to get used to, so I appreciated all of the training we went through. It's a 3 hour course, but I didn't use up all the time. I went through all the exercises included in the course and he let me use the remaining time to practice what I wanted a better handle on. It was truly a great experience. I wish I could have gone on the road in real traffic, but that's probably too much for a first time lesson. There's an option to take more lessons, so I'm sure that's probably something you can ask about. Meanwhile, I'll be asking my friends who own stick shift cars to practice my skills. Highly recommend this course! read more
