My 3 children took swim lessons…read more Pros: the teachers and staff are all very nice and relate to kids well. They have a nice area where the kids can play/relax after class for a few minutes. They use the whole lane of the pool to teach which maximizes swim time. The teachers sometimes have them "group swim" instead of ONLY individual swim which maximizes swim time. They also are very prompt with starting and ending on time. Cons: the teachers they have are not consistent, and so they don't know your child's swim level, and the skills worked on that week is random (whatever the teacher wants to do), so there is a lack on consistency. I also wish there was an option for parents to sit inside the pool area instead of only the option to sit outside of the glass. Overall, I would go for another lesson, but wish for more consistency in skills learned each week.

Been taking my daughter to swim classes here for a couple of years. We were excited to graduate…read morefrom the baby classes, which is 30 minutes of just getting the kids used to being in water and most of the instructors we had did not seem too engaged in the class. Once we got to the 3-5 classes, the instructors were great and my kids loved it. However, we had 2 weeks in a row where, first, my 3-year-old fell in the water and was picked up by another instructor who was walking around the pool. Then the next week, during the last 5 minutes of "play time," my 4-year-old slipped off the wall and was fully submerged and flailing in the water. The teacher (who is great) was with another child. I don't know how long my daughter was under water (it felt like forever), but it was long enough for all five parents watching to bang repeatedly on the class and yell for someone's attention, since the door to the pool is locked and we couldn't get in. Finally, an instructor walking around the pool noticed and grabbed my daughter. During both incidents, the "lifeguard" did not notice either girl and made no move to help either time. After the second incident, we removed my daughter's from the class. I spoke with the manager, Jackie, who was great, discussed how there is no way that should be happening, and offered a full refund. Then she had the supervisor, Marty, call me. He made the situation much worse by repeatedly discussing how young children don't listen by the pool and it causes unsafe situations. I agreed with him, acknowledging that my 3-year-old fell in due to not listening. But my 4-year-old is very nervous by the water and tends to be a very good listener. Despite mentioning this, Marty again discussed how children don't listen and cause an unsafe situation by continually jumping in the pool on the own. Even if my daughter was not listening, there should be no reason a child is fully submerged under the water with no one (especially the lifeguard) noticing until parents finally get their attention by banging on windows and yelling. Marty made the whole experience worse by his attempts to explain why the situation occurred and helped me feel more confident in my decision to transfer the girls to the new Foss swim school (which is also much bigger and cleaner).

My son learned how to swim by taking swim lessons at the PFAC. My son has also taken the junior life guard class two years in a row and has enjoyed it. My now 5 year old daughter has taken two years of swim lessons here and has learned alot. The adult pool is nice, quiet and relaxing, eventhough I don't use it as much as I use too. My two younger kids enjoy the zero depth pool (beach pool) and sand box. My son enjoys the water slide, drop slides and the wall climb. There really is something for all ages at the PFAC.

I spent my entire childhood at the PFAC hanging out in the puddles, the zero-depth pool and the badge pool. Now that I am decidedly over 18, I have graduated to the adult deck and it is fabulous! It is a completely calm, child-free zone complete with designated lap lanes and available lounge chairs. I can spend hours here swimming, sun bathing and reading. Beyond just splashing around in the pools, the Aqua Center always tries to provide other services. They have swim lessons, private party rentals and this year Aqua Zumba classes are offered on Saturdays for $5. I wouldn't last 5 minutes at a zumba class on land, but in the water I am a contender. The facilities are also very clean and the lifeguards are very professional. We might not be going on vacation this year, but we are going to the PFAC and it feels just as good.

We were able to get access to a pool for the summer through our HOA. Within just a few lessons, our 1.5 year old is way more comfortable. Michael's patient but persistent approach ensures we make steady progress without pushing our son too far. I am a happy and successful graduate of Reavis High. It offers more than just a place to fulfill…read moreyour pre-college requirements. It may not be the ideal place of higher educational accomplishments on your list of credits for those seeking some pencil pushing no talent work environment. But for those who know what they want, and are aware of the real world and it's requirements, it offers more than any Ivy League, high brow institution can even begin to. Personally I consider myself beyond successful with accomplishments acquired only through being taught what the real world is like and how to survive in it. I'm not knocking the brainy ones who have worked hard academically to achieve their respective degrees in their desired form of work, who may have also claimed Reavis as their Alma-mater. But I am here to defend the place where I got to realize, and learn, what I am capable of in order to survive in American society. From first grade on I never "fit in" to the accepted curriculum, and was "tolerated" at best, by the teaching community. Until I got into the halls of Reavis where the world opened up for me and I was not only with people of the real world, both student and teacher, but had choices no one knew were lurking in my little brain. I was opened to being able to express and expand the genius concealed inside what the academics said to my parents "Al does not belong here." It was taken as "this kid has a problem" not "He's too smart for this type school." Until I got to Reavis I struggled with fitting into the meaningless and unfruitful forms of education that was offered to the general community. At Reavis my life exploded into the word "opportunity". Yes I had to take what the educated of society told my parents I had to take as classes, but getting that out of the way as quickly and easily as I could I looked forward daily to attending first the basic industrial arts classes and then on to the real shop hands-on classes where I excelled. Where I learned from great men like Caroll Repasey and Bob Moser and others I can't remember at the moment, who could have made twice the money out in the real world. They had a desire and quest to teach those who were willing to learn what they needed to excel in the real world. Money was not the object for these men, as mentioned, they taught me "how to learn" not "what to learn". I can tell you from a lifelong experience with men who have accomplished the "how to learn" that conquering the physical world through "hands-on talent" and being confident in this sort of self knowing has a lot more to offer than book smarts alone. I admire and praise those with doctor's degrees and diplomas that proclaim their dedication to their chosen form of work, but Reavis High School claims more successful and self satisfied individuals because of it's dedication to the education of young adults than can ever be counted or tallied up. I hope and pray, for the sake of society, that Reavis has not changed it's curriculum.
