I give them a four star because the doctors are great. They know what they're doing, but their staff is very unorganized. They need to have more people trained for that situation especially have more people that could have patient know how to customers and know what they're talking about every time I go to this office the nurses are either rude or have no experience or I just have the bad energy with them where they don't like me, which is pretty dumb. we're not in high school but I give five stars to the Doctors never had problems with my own doctor or the other doctors there they just need to work on finding better stuff. read more

This was my husband's first visit to Dr. John Stewart, and we are beyond grateful to have found him. My husband hadn't had a physical in about four years, and during his last one, he was prescribed medication that caused severe side effects. Given his condition of an enlarged prostate, he was understandably nervous about what this visit would reveal. Dr. Stewart immediately raised concerns about the medication my husband had been on, explaining that it was typically prescribed for much older patients and was completely inappropriate for someone his age. My husband was understandably frustrated and heartbroken to learn he had endured unnecessary suffering due to a previous doctor who seemed more interested in prescribing pills than truly caring for his patients. My boyfriend and I have been looking for a Primary Care Physician (PCP) that we like, and we're so excited to finally find a great one so close to our house. When my boyfriend had over a week of cold symptoms that didn't go away, I took him to his MediCal-assigned PCP he'd never actually been to. The front desk was pleasant on the phone and kindly extended a same-day appointment when I explained his situation. The actual location had plenty of private parking in the back, as well as street parking. You're able to fill out paperwork in an air conditioned waiting room, and there's outside seating as well. In person, Cynthia at the front desk is as kind and pleasant as on the phone. As we were filling out our paperwork, Cynthia walked to hand our ID cards back, a considerate move compared to other doctor's' offices. Our nurse Mayra is also friendly, we were promptly called in and she took my boyfriend's blood pressure and temperature. Shortly after, our provider Sonya came in to examine my boyfriend. We're used to doctors barely listening to us and ushering us out as soon as they can. Not the case here, Sonya really took the time to listen and answer all our questions. When I wasn't feeling well myself, I decided to go to the Stewart Medical Group myself, since the experience with my boyfriend was so great. I found the experience wasn't unique to that day, everyone here really takes the time to understand your ailments and are so friendly and pleasant. When I met Dr John Stewart, it felt like he's been my doctor since birth! He's caring and comforting and really put me at ease. Another plus here is there's an ABC Laboratories in the same building, and you can get your bloodwork done without an appointment, and the process was super smooth. I've since decided to make this team my PCP as well! Thank you to everyone here for making our experience great and for getting us to feel better. I've been seeing Sonya Tang for my annual physicals and checkups for the past 3 years, and she is truly one of the best healthcare providers I've ever encountered. I've left doctor appointments too many times feeling like it was rushed through and my concerns were dismissed. Sonya is always patient, taking the time to address the many questions (sometimes random) that I have about my body and my health (yes, I'm a little neurotic). I leave every appointment feeling confident and well-cared for. Highly recommend her! The rest of the staff is great as well. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for my appointment. 0 stars if I could!! The level of care from this provider has gone down completely. I have been a patient here for 15+ years and after my last visit on Monday I decided to cut ties with Stewart Medical. The most recent incident started when I initially called to speak to PA Sonya Tang- I believe Melanie answered the phone- I asked if Sonya could give me a call at her earliest convenience to ask her a few questions that could save me from coming in to the office because I have been having trouble walking. She then proceeds to say "When was the last time you were here" VERY RUDELY. I told her about a month ago or so. She then looks up my last appointment in the system and tells me "IT WAS 2 MONTHS AGO... NOT A MONTH." OKAY?! What does that have to do with anything?! She then tells me "I'll have her call you back." 2 weeks went by and I never heard back from anyone. I then called to make an appointment and when I called nobody answered but I was placed on hold right away! I waited on the line for 13 min!! I then called from my office at work and they answered RIGHT AWAY I was still on hold while I was speaking to them from my work phone (I attached pictures below) and that is not the first time since I've had issues with the office staff in the past every time I call using my personal phone they always leave me on hold or take forever to answer because they can see my caller ID. Absolutely ridiculous...The day of my appointment I arrive and I see Sonia for a note of accommodation I need for work due to physical issues I've had for years now- the way she kept disagreeing with me trying to tell me that it wasn't a "good idea" after 10 min of me explaining how much pain I'm in on a daily basis had me baffled. Then she finally says "I just tell my patients to listen to their body". WOW all that for a note?! She then proceeds to tell me everything she wants me to do while I'm there- Bloodwork, Imaging of the lower extremities, & my flu shot. About 5 min later the nurse with the orange hair comes in and gives me the flu shot, She then scurries out of the room and says " shit I forgot to give you the consent form" after she had already administered it to me. I was just speechless...Good thing I've never had any allergies or reactions to it but it could've been someone else that has!! She comes back in and tells me "Okay, If Sonia said you're good to go you're done for today" Sooo... that just means she didn't communicate to the nurse whatsoever!! I was so angry at that point I took off. That was the absolute last straw for me- I've tried countless times to give them a chance since they have been my PCP for so long but not anymore!! My call to the office was great. I spoke with Cynthia and explained to her why I needed a new primary care Doctor immediately. I am 60yrs old was put state insurance not by choice.my previous doctors office made feel small and very intimidated. I never felt heard at that office. I developed such a fear of Drs for years. I did some research with my provider and found Stewart Medical group. I called and spoke to Cynthia who was just wonderful. She set up an appointment with Dr.Tiffany Stewart. I told Dr.Tiffany my concerns and fears and she listened with lots of patience. She ordered blood work and talked me through he results in a very thorough way that I can understand. She was kind and asked lots of questions that made feel comfortable. She did diagnose type 2 diabetes which can be very scary. But with Dr Tiffany support and her staff support I felt safe in her treatment. I have made lifestyle changes thanks to this wonderful office. I am no longer anxious to get bloodwork and most importantly to get results. I am so happy with Dr. Tiffany Stewart and to all office staff for making me feel safe and heard. read more

Today is 7/21... I have to post this updated New Negative Review. I am a New patient to Dr. Tiffany Stewart who is the Daughter of the Owner named Dr. John Stewart. I joined in April of 2025. In the beginning of me joining with Dr. Tiffany Stewart... The receptionist Cynthia and Shaylee were very nice. The Lab Technician was nice but then once I had my physical on 6/11/2025 with Dr. Tiffany Stewart... Everything changed for the WORST. I went through so much trouble as a Disabled Partially Blind woman to order previous Medical Records for Dr. Tiffany Stewart, the office kept making me drive over there back and forth to drop off records and much more from emergency room visits. Dr. Tiffany Stewart didn't finish order lots of Urgent Referrals to Medical Specialists I needed desperately and I am bleeding internally. I had to do her work all by myself with my Insurance Plan called LA Care and left several URGENT messages for my doctor Tiffany Stewart to call me regarding URGENT MATTERS that included Bleeding badly and she never once picked up the phone to return my calls and I did go to the Hospital and told her via a message that I need her to call me back urgently regarding my discharge from the hospital and she never called me back. I am still waiting on several Urgent referrals that can save my life and she obey is a very un-experienced New Primary Care Physician and has no care for her patients in need of help or she as a Professional would of called me back. Her Referral Coordinator is named Melanie and all Melanie did was argue with me every time I called for my Doctor or left a message regarding a referral and never treated me nice. She thinks she's a real doctor when she's only a mean clerk. The secretary's are lazy and make the patient do all of their leg work when that's so un-professional. Their medical records clerk yelled at me for asking her if she received my medical records that were faxed over 3 times and sent via email by my previous Medical Primary Care Physicians office and she yelled at me horribly. I was verbally abused by their other doctor named Anita Mercado for no reason and she's too elderly to still be working or she's prejudice. I'm so sad that I have wasted too much time and energy helping this office to help me and I am gladly moving on to better Horizons. I am hoping people like me who are Disabled and very sick and Partially Blind will Stand up to these un-ruly and unprofessional Medical offices and un-professional Medical doctors like I do. We don't have to tolerate this behavior w d deserve to be treated kindly and with the proper medical attention. I am so angry that these doctors get away with this in our Country of the USA . I wanted to share what I posted on Facebook recently about Stewart Medical: One of the most constant things in my lifetime has been my family doctor. When we first moved to Alhambra when I was 9 years old, my whole family started going to Stewart Medical Group. Since 1981 Dr. John Stewart has been my doctor. He delivered my babies and he was their pediatrician throughout their childhood. I have always been worried about what I would do when he finally retires and although he's not retiring yet, I was so happy to know that his daughter, Dr. Tiffany Stewart is going to follow in his footsteps and take over his practice. I am so ecstatic about finally finding a doctor with true bedside manners. Doctor Mercado listens to you, looks at you in the eye while jotting down notes. She will find the best solution to your concerns and will immediately commence a referral to a specialty doctor, x-rays, lab work, etc, if needed.
