Great boot with the ability to customize or, if you're lucky, buy a boot off the shelf. Victor was really helpful in making sure the boots he made me would be comfortable. He was also very helpful with the process of picking out sticking patterns and colors that would stand out enough. When the boots were finished he spent quite a bit of time working with me to make minor adjustments so that I felt comfortable. Very happy with the final product! Would recommend to any friend looking for a comfortable, custom pair of boots.

Victor is quite simply the best shoe fitter in the West. His knowledge of podiatry and kinesiology is founded on decades of hands on experience. If you suffer from knee or back pain, try on a pair of his boots and turn your aches and pains into blissfull heel and toe tapping. From fine leathers to exotic wildebeest hide. This shop can create a masterpiece for your feet. Travel back in time and order your custom boots today. Its like riding off into the sunset with Clint Eastwood himself.

Vic and Linda Borg own and operate Stewart Boots. Very nice people, and knowledgeable about boots. I'll just post a pic of the boots they just delivered to me here in late July 2020. The pics say it all about the quality work they do, and artistry they deliver.

A real custom boot maker... Great service

Love my handmade boots. Have had them for over 43 years. Need to get a new pair made as the old ones are too small now.

Is this boot maker closed or are they still in business?

They’re in business ... sort of. I ordered custom-made boots and gave them a 50% deposit. Now it’s been four months and I can’t get any information about the status of my order. Nobody answers the phone or responds to messages on Facebook.

Victor had me walk and examined my feet and the tennis shoes I walked in with and made the fit perfect for me.

The time and effort that Sarah put into this project was inspiring. She was so persistent with manufacturers in pursuit of the mechanics of the reclining mechanism, now out of production. She kept us informed all along the process, and was able to locate one part still in existence. We also had her touch up and fix some of the leather that had been scratched. She brought it back to its lovely brown leather. And it reclines! The second recliner, 50 years old, had been beaten up by age, although it worked well. We thought of repairing the piece as is, but chose to reupholster it entirely, as close to the original color and material. Also, we asked that she touch up the pine arms and wings, and add back the necessary details that had been lost. What a magnificent job Sarah and her team did! The photos don't fully describe the experience of having it back to looking like a new recliner. Worth the relatively modest price, since they don't make recliners like this anymore. Highly recommend these folks, especially Sarah J. Although I don't have "before" photos, both of these are "after" the restoration.

Marvelous Vintage has been on my list for a while, and I'm glad I finally popped in--especially…read moresince it's located in one of my favorite plazas near Casa Video, which already sets a nostalgic, retro tone. The shop itself is thoughtfully curated and eclectic. You'll find a little bit of everything here: Harley pieces, Betty Boop, Southwestern and cowboy vibes, old-school denim, Dickies, and truly vintage jeans that feel intentionally sourced rather than randomly racks upon racks. From a visual and curation standpoint, it's clear there's an eye behind what's being selected. That said, this is not a casual thrifting stop. This is a higher-end vintage boutique, and the pricing reflects that. Jackets easily reach the several-hundred-dollar range, and many pieces are priced accordingly for collectors or shoppers specifically seeking premium vintage. As someone who shops vintage often and is used to finding great pieces across a wide range of price points, I personally found the prices higher than what I was prepared to spend on this visit, which ultimately meant I didn't walk out with anything. The owner was polite, and the experience itself wasn't unpleasant, but this shop definitely caters to a specific buyer. If you're walking in, expect to spend real money--this isn't a $20-$50 browse-and-buy kind of place. Overall, Marvelous Vintage is well curated and unique, just not aligned with my personal shopping style or budget this time around. If you're looking for rare pieces and are comfortable investing in high-end vintage, this may be right up your alley. For more casual thrifters, it's helpful to know what you're walking into.
