I have been wearing Stewart boots for over 50 years. I got my first pair in about 1970, and just received my third pair this past weekend. I went in for a fitting in early April and they arrived on the 14th of October. Not a long time to wait when you consider how great they are and how well they fit. The wait is well worth it. The fit is amazing, the quality is the best, need I say more. If that weren't the case I wouldn't have just had another pair made. I LOVE MY BOOTS. I was measured by Victor, the owner, and the boots fit perfectly. I had a pair made in April (Black) and just picked up my new pair today (Tan). My feet are different sizes and I have a high arch. Victor had me walk and examined my feet and the tennis shoes I walked in with and made the fit perfect for me. These boots are so comfortable. Sad to say that I hear he may close up shop after 50 years. I saw a pair of boots sitting there waiting for a customer to pick them up. So sad Victor and Linda retired. I've been buying Stewart boots since 1987. I sent a pair of my boots to have the sole repaired . The new owners said it would cost $100 to repair. I shipped the boots and two weeks later I get a call wanting me to sign off on fixing. But now the price is $350 to put soles and heals on a $400 pair of Stewart boots. Almost 4 decades of buying Stewart Boots has come to an end. Epilog : Next day Linda called and she and Vic are still there on an advisory to the new owner. I hope the new guy isn't mad. Great boot with the ability to customize or, if you're lucky, buy a boot off the shelf. Victor was really helpful in making sure the boots he made me would be comfortable. He was also very helpful with the process of picking out sticking patterns and colors that would stand out enough. When the boots were finished he spent quite a bit of time working with me to make minor adjustments so that I felt comfortable. Very happy with the final product! It's now been five months since I ordered my custom-made boots. I was very patient. I only called once a month. And every time I called, I was promised the boots "will be ready next week". I'd like to cancel the order and get my deposit back, but now nobody answers the phone, and the mailbox is full. I don't know why this company has such a great reputation. Terrible customer service. Update: Six months later, I finally got my boots. They're a half size too large and so stiff I cannot walk in them. Unwearable. I wish I had never heard of this company. read more

I can't say enough good things about Victor and Stewart's. A friend took me there while we were on travel after telling me about Stewarts for a long time and that Victor can make shoes to fit any feet. I have extremely wide feet that are wide very far back and have always had trouble finding shoes. I honestly have not had shoes that truly fit in probably 30 years. Victor looked at my shoe wear patterns and started asking me questions. He was right in all cases. He spent probably 45 minutes asking me questions and measuring my feet. Victor was courteous and professional and I learned a lot. I do not wear boots (yet) but I needed shoes that fit. So I got him to make me some dress shoes. They look like the bottoms of boots and are gorgeous. I have received many positive comments on them. They were ready in a very reasonable time and I got a progress call shortly before they were done. And the very best part is that they truly fit. Now to get Victor to make me some everyday beater shoes so I can get my feet into good shoes even on the weekends. And with my information on file all I have to do is call. Pull the trigger and get Victor to make you some shoes that fit. You won't be sorry. Almost forgot. Victor has quite a few boots already made. My husband has worn Stewart Boots for the past 40 years. Bought his first pair at Great Western Boot Outlet in Indianapolis, IN. When they closed we didn't know how or where we were going to find another pair of Stewart Boots for him. Luckily, we were able to reach Victor Borge at his shop in Tucson, AZ and ordered directly from him. As the years have passed things have progressed from good to very bad. We sent a pair of boots to be refooted and it took close to a year to get them back. We also ordered a new pair of boots and lo and behold, the old pair was repaired and sent along with the new pair of boots. Fast forward to July of 2018. I had another pair of boots that needed refooted so on July 11, 2018 my wife called and talked to Linda. Linda said to mail the boots with a letter stating what needs done and Victor would call after he looked at them and give a price on the repair. We sent the pair of boots along with a letter in each boot and a letter in the box stating what needed to be done. No phone calls were received. In November 2018, my wife called to see what the status was and there was no answer. Phone calls went to voice mailbox and mailbox was full and would accept on new messages. My wife tried to call at various times and always got the voice mailbox message. On February 15, 2019, my wife sent a letter asking about the boots. No reply and no phone call from either Victor or Linda. On July 15, 2019 after one year has now passed, my wife called and Victor answered the phone. My wife explained to him about the boots. He was at a loss for words when she told him that the boots had been shipped in July of 2018 and they had had them for a year now. He was not able to find the boots. He told my wife to call back and speak to Linda who took care of these things. On July 17th my wife called back and spoke to Linda. She found the boots and said she would put the boots next in line and Victor would call. Once more there was no phone calls from Victor. Four months later; on November 12, 2019; my wife called again and talked to Linda. Linda told her once more that she would put the boots next in line for Victor to work on. My wife questioned her saying that she had been told that before. Linda then proceeded to tell my wife that they have boots that have been sitting on the shelf for four years waiting to be repaired. She also said that Victor had been ill and was unable to do the repairs. She also hung up on my wife when my wife asked why Linda had told her in July that she would put the boots next in line and apparently that did not happen? On December 9, 2019; my wife called again and this time I spoke to Linda. It was a tense conversation and Linda hung up on me. On January 19,2020; my wife filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Southern Arizona stating the problems that we have had with Stewart Boots. We did not ask for a resolution or anything from Stewart Boots. We just wanted others to know about the problems we had experienced. On February 12, 2020; Linda Borg with Stewart Boots called us. She spoke to my wife. She was wanting to verify our address. My wife asked her if the boots had been repaired. Linda said no, that she was going to ship the boots back to us. My wife told her to throw them in the trash since they had not been repaired and were not wearable as they were. Linda told my wife that Victor had been ill, that he is 82 years old and he IS Stewart Boot Company; the only one that works there and is behind on repairs. My wife told her.... SHE (Linda) had told her at least twice when she called that the boots had been put on Victor's desk to be next in line to be worked on. Linda's response was.....someone must have moved them from Victor's desk back to the repair shelf. Our thoughts were, if no one works there but Victor, then WHO put them back on the repair shelf. Linda also implied that the box had just been opened but she knew there was a letter in the box as well as in each of the boots. Nothing seems to make sense in all of this and we will go elsewhere to buy boots. They may be more expensive but we are certain it won't take two years to get an answer if there are problems. I know this is a LONG review, but we felt it should be put out there for some other unsuspecting person. read more

I had a pair of boots made by Stewart Boots a couple years ago. They said it would take 6-8 months until I received them. Well, it took almost 12 months... No problem, they fit great. I had requested that the boots had a rubber sole, which they did. After wearing them a few times the rubber sole around the toe started to delaminate, come unglued basically. So I took a glue gun and did the repair myself, that lasted a little while. I decided to forgo the rubber soles and have the boots changed to regular leather soles. So I sent the boots back to Stewart Boots requesting this repair or conversion. BIG MISTAKE ! They have had the boots now for a year, keep in mind that I only had them in my possession for 6-8 months... Almost a year to make them, have them for 6 months, now gone for a year (so far), and a lot of money for all this. I've called several times over the year to see what the status is, I've been put on hold for 20 min. then disconnected, I've been told that they're just really busy or they're just a little backed up and they will get back to me. I've called back after being disconnected and I just get a busy signal and/or the mail box is full. My recommendation...... Buy your boots Elsewhere !!! read more

I bought a pair of Stewart boots in the mid 90's, liked them very much, so I was excited to get a new pair when these started to wear out. I visited the store in December 2006, Vic measured my feet, drew an outline and we discussed what I wanted. When the boots arrived they were ALL WRONG. They did not include room for a Spenco insole as i requested (I use them for dress boots, and stand a lot). The toe was more rounded than I wanted. I don't care what current fashion is, I want what I want. They were not even close to fitting. Not just because they were new; once I crammed my foot in there, I could not walk, they were so tight. The heel was wrong, I wanted a spur shelf and undercut on the back. What I received was a bulky, boxy-looking, too-low barn heel and a round toe. I photographed the differences between my old boots and the new boots, and returned them to Vic. After a few months, he sent them back, and they were hardly improved at all. When I talked to him by phone, it sounded like my boots were confused with someone else's with the same last name, and mine were built on the wrong last. After repeated calls when he said he would check into it and get back to me, I never hear anything. My last conversation was over a year from when I was measured for the boots, and I still had no boots that fit, or any indication Vic was trying to make it right. I was patient with his story of illness and finding good help, but this goes past my limits. I finally just quit calling, because I could tell he was not interested in doing what it takes to fix the problem. Now I have a new set of boots that I cannot use, and I am out $380. Anyone want to buy a pair? For much less grief and much more comfort, I bought a pair of Ariat Mens Western Heritage J toe boots, for 1/3 the price and 3 times the comfort. Vics warnings about me walking slighty on the side of my foot and needing a special shaped heel or I would have back and knee problems, were BS. Take a guess if I will recommend Stewart Boots anytime soon..... read more

What an experience. Not only do you get GORGEOUS custom boots at this factory, you get incredible service from the staff. This is truly a unique place that you will never forget, rustic, old school and wonderful. They have boots that you can buy off the shelf, but once you get your foot analyzed by Victor, you won't want off the shelf. I am a dedicated customer from now on. Stewart boots are hand fitted to your exact measurements. Victor traces your feet and adds the neccesary data to make sure you get a comfortable exact fit. This is a custom fitted boot that no one else does AFAIK. The price is less than half of what Ariat charges for "custom" boots. The boots are shipped directly to you with helpful care instructions. I have very wide feet(10.5 EEEEEE) and have had to buy what was available that came sorta close to fitting. As a result, pressure on my knees has been uneven and led to meniscus damage on one side. Victor showed me how that happened and gave me a correct fit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

We Found Victor. the story just begins. Since last year we had a custom pair done for our daughter, my husband had one pair done and a pair of boots he had made in Manhattan 30 years ago, but could not wear as they did not fit him right, Victor customized and enhanced the boots and now my husband is able to wear them very comfortably. I am on my third pair, a python/black leather boot. We are back in Tucson and are planning to have another pair done for my husband. I cannot sing praises for Victor loud enough. the worst service I've ever seen!!!! The worst customer treatment I ever got!!!! Lies, Lies, Lies..... It tools one (!!!) year - but no I didn't got my boots, after one year there still not ready... even I paid in full!!! Here The short story: In February I ordered my boots and paid the deposit and they told me I take's about 3 month - April. Ok sounds good. In May I called and they said ...we late, it will be begin of June.... ....end of June I called again and the said..... blah, blah, blah, end of the month July...... I'm already mad..... finally at the end of August they called me and said the boots are ready and paid in full. I got them 2 (!!!) weeks later (from Arizona to Texas I can do a horseback ride in 2 weeks.....) One boot was bigger then the other and the boots are about a half and 1 inch to big!!!!!!! After 3 day a suture came off!!!!! I called them and they said.... ok it will be done in a few days. It was in September. I called in October, blah, blah, blah, end of month they will be ready to ship. .... I called again begin of November......blah, blah, blah, end of month they will be ready..... I called before Christmas and they said.... you will own us a apologia!!! when you'll get your boots in 2 weeks, because I've been really mad...... after 2 Weeks I called and told them I want my moony back because they are not able to make boots...... I called once a week every week until February and finally got ma money back...... So, don't ever go to them and order a pair of boots you will be treated in the worst way you can ever imagine!!! I'd like to add my comments about Victor. I couldn't find a western boot to fit me as they are all made for tall, slim long-legged people! I am just barely five feet tall with a wide foot and very full calves. I needed nice boots for my Front Desk position at a Tucson Dude Ranch. I always endured pain in my hips and just chalked it up to getting old, but Victor told me that most likely every pair of shoes I owned was too narrow, causing my feet to roll outward and creating strain in my hips. He made me a gorgeous pair of black leather boots in my correct size and width, and fashioned them for my full calves! No more pinching! I was on my feet all day at that job and I thanked Victor every day for those boots.... they were so comfortable! That was over 10 years ago and those boots still look and feel great! Not a bad product, however, this was THE WORST business dealing that I have EVER had (to include dealings with Walmart, dollar stores, and fast food chains.) First, these people are next to impossible to get a hold of. Their voicemail box is full, and you can expect a wait time of three to four weeks for a response to email. Of course, this response only comes after you send several unanswered messages. Second, upon purchase, they will quote you a time of completion. In my case, completion was estimated between three and a half to four months. The completion took over six. Once the boots had been completed, I was notified via email that I owed them more money. This was particularly problematic for me as I had paid in full six months prior. I asked for them to email me an itemized cost breakdown for my boots and they sent me one totaling $537.42 to include shipping. At that time, I had receipts showing that I had originally paid them $602.78. Yes, by their own estimate, I had overpaid by $65.36. I responded via email and attached copies of my receipts. At this point I was anxious to receive the boots as they were long overdue, and stated that the differential wasn't a huge issue for me as long as they shipped them in a timely fashion. They did not. They continued to insist that I owed them money. These boots were supposed to be a gift to me from my mother, and, as time went on and she noticed that I still didn't have them, she began to ask questions. I explained the situation to her. She then took it upon herself to go to Stewart Boot Co in person to try and recover my boots (neither of us live within eighty miles of their store). The result was that she was able to recover the boots, but only after being unprofessionally yelled at by a member of the staff. In summary, I would NEVER WISH THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS DEALING ON ANYONE. Also, I saved all forms of electronic communications that I had with Stewart Boot Co.
