The time and effort that Sarah put into this project was inspiring. She was so persistent with manufacturers in pursuit of the mechanics of the reclining mechanism, now out of production. She kept us informed all along the process, and was able to locate one part still in existence. We also had her touch up and fix some of the leather that had been scratched. She brought it back to its lovely brown leather. And it reclines! The second recliner, 50 years old, had been beaten up by age, although it worked well. We thought of repairing the piece as is, but chose to reupholster it entirely, as close to the original color and material. Also, we asked that she touch up the pine arms and wings, and add back the necessary details that had been lost. What a magnificent job Sarah and her team did! The photos don't fully describe the experience of having it back to looking like a new recliner. Worth the relatively modest price, since they don't make recliners like this anymore. Highly recommend these folks, especially Sarah J. Although I don't have "before" photos, both of these are "after" the restoration.

I feel that by posting this review I am saving others from the head banging frustration of working with Margarita. I did give them two stars because when and if they follow through they do a good job.

The craft of the upholstery was good,…read morethe price was reasonable, the quality of the materials was poor, and the service was unprofessional. With one vehicle, my initial quote mysteriously changed when I dropped it off. We cleared that up, I thought, but then Baca failed to install new foam in the seats--so I got the lower price initially quoted, but not the work I asked for. Also, they did not call and notify me the vehicle was done, so I checked back after two days and they complained that I had left the vehicle with them. At least the seats looked good. The other vehicle seemed to go fine, but the fabric split within 18 months of negligible use--not at the seam, but the vinyl itself detached from the cloth backing. I took it back to Baca for a look because it seemed defective. They said I must have worn it out, shrugged when I told them I had barely used it, and gave me a quote to replace the cheap fabric with more cheap fabric. If you have a project where you have a small budget and aren't picky about the results, it might be worth rolling the dice with Baca. Conversely, paying to reupholster something and have it look slightly less bad could feel like money down the drain. Enter at your own risk.

In May I tried to find out our status on the wait list, but never connected with him again. I called - hone box full, texted, no response, and even went to the shop - closed during business hours. I've moved onto another business due to lack of communication. I don't mind waiting for service with a busy vendor. I do mind being blown off - Just communicate if you can't do it, you can't do it.

Contacted Sabrina by phone...agreeing on a time that we would do a consult. Upon arrival, the door was locked....at 2:45 pm. Called the number, Sabrina had Carlos open the door...she was not on premises...every aspect of the transaction was off and unprofessional. 50% deposit of a 700 dollar quote for two chair cushions and and ottoman cushion. Arrived on Monday (took about a month) and the ottoman cushion was a joke. There was no piping on the chair cushions and the zipper is black and visible on grey velour. To add insult to injury i was charged 150 percent of the quote in error. Sabrina fixed it and said she was sorry. Sorry indeed. Im really glad i tried them out before getting into a deeper, more expensive job.

Having just purchased a home in Tucson, my wife and I wanted some furniture reupholstered. We saw…read morethat Chavez Since 67 had good reviews so we met Mr. Chavez on Nov 28, 2025 at his shop to discuss recovering our sofa and love seat.  We selected fabric and paid for it and the labor up front, over $4,700. He insisted on a check made payable to him, which we found suspicious. He said he was quite busy but would do the work in 12-14 weeks, since the fabric had to be ordered from Spain. Later we learned that the good reviews were old and not representative of more recent customer experiences where Chavez was not doing the work he had been paid to do. We learned more about of his delaying tactics in a local Channel 13 news report we found on-line. Since we had heard nothing from him, on Feb 19, 2026 we called Mr. Chavez to ask when he was going to pick up the pieces. He did not answer, and his recording said to send a text rather than leave a message. We then texted him asking if the fabric was in and asking him to call. There was no reply. On Feb 25, 2026 my wife emailed Mr. Chavez, asking when he would pick up the items. He emailed back stating that he was running behind, had only one upholsterer, had been unable to find any good upholsterers, and had lost two experienced men due to immigration issues. He said he would let us know when he could schedule the work. My wife emailed back asking if he had an estimated timeframe. He responded by email, saying he could not give us a timeframe, adding that he and his upholsterer were also recovering from the flu. This is the same excuser he had given earlier customers. For a total of 8 months, his delays, excuses, promises, discount offers and apologies continued. We lost all confidence in him, so we were forced to initiate another grand jury prosecution for fraud. This legal process took weeks, but it finally forced him to refund all our money. We do not recommend Mr. Chavez or Chavez Since 67.

Then I gave him 2 club chairs which he reupholstered in two coordinating fabrics. They are wow! I'm heading back today to give him another job.
