The gentleman working was happy to give feedback and picked out some nice pieces while speaking about the quality of items they bring in. Most of the items are either made local or sweatshop free in the USA. This is the kind of quality I want to spend money on and is generally a deciding factor when I make any purchase. I also wanted to speak about the simplicity of the decor and layout of the shop. Great merchandising as it really draws the eye in. I was warmly greeted by Kathleen who promptly took on the task of finding me a new blue suit to replace my pre-pandemic suit that no longer fits me. She eyeballed me for size and was off to the races. I still don't know how she managed to be so accurate, but she managed to nail it on the first try. She showed me two suits to start and as I looked in the mirror after putting on the jackets for each suit, she was keeping watch of me while searching for other appropriate options based on my thoughts as I broke down what I liked about them. I was then escorted to the fitting rooms to also try on the pants. I was also provided with a shirt so that I could get a better sense of how it all came together. Amazingly, it was one of those first two that she had me try that I ultimately selected. It might have been the easiest suit purchase of my life. To put this in perspective, I have had full bespoke suits made for me locally and in Hong Kong. I've also bought off the rack suits from Dunn's (recommended) and Red Baker (recommended) and fake bespoke suits from Indochino (not recommended). My experience with Kathleen and Harry Rosen was only exceeded by my bespoke suit experiences. So there you have it. I introduced my Father and explained we were looking to outfit him with some new pieces. The saleswoman took one look at him and flatly said, "We have nothing for him." No effort. No conversation. No alternative suggestions. Just a dismissive brush-off and out the door we went--feeling dejected and frankly, unwelcome. Thankfully, just two doors down was Jim's Clothes Closet. Not only did they greet us warmly, but their amazing team, especially CoCo, helped my Dad find pants in the exact size the Outlook's employee insisted wouldn't fit him. On top of that, he left with shirts, belts, a hat, and a great vest--plus a smile on his face. Outlooks Menswear gave us the worst customer service experience I've had in years. I rode down…read moreto French creek and took the passenger ferry to Lasqueti island which was fun in its own right ( about a 20 min ride from parksdale to the French creek marina). The ride around Lasqueti is very pleasant with a couple of beaches to stop at and relatively car free hilly dirt roads . There is a hotel /pub at fakes bay where the ferry lands You need a mountain bike or a hybrid or gravel bike with 32 mm plus tires . Suspension is useful for the sweeping corners that are gravel covered with washboard in some spots. I called Greg at Oceanside outfitters about one minute after closing to try and get a bike for the 9:45 ferry the next day. Greg kindly offered to open the store at 8:30 the next morning and I made the ferry with no problem. He also let me drop the bike off after shop closing time , at his beach rental spot. A really nice guy and I appreciate the above and beyond service and the great bike as well. Stefan
