The quality of the service was what I expected and have received in the past. I am providing this review to inform customers about the pricing value. I requested two (2) areas be cleaned (the living room and the set of stairs); the quote was around $140. Three (3) "areas" cost $179. I decided to add a very small hallway in the townhouse. Ultimately, the invoice totaled $175. I would have gotten an entire room cleaned if I thought the price was going to be the same as adding on a tiny hallway. Typically, when I've had room areas cleaned by any of the companies, areas included rooms such as a bedroom, living room, dining room, etc. The fact that a small hallway costs the same as these larger areas is NOT a good value. I called, and Steven's ChemDry stood by their pricing. Although I've used them in the past, I will explore new options. read more

Great service and team. Needed a move-out carpet cleaning plus pet urine spot cleaning. I called the company when I wanted to schedule the cleaning to ask about adding a pet urine spot treatment in addition to a coupon I had purchased separately and the spot treatment check and estimate was scheduled for a few days before the actual carpet cleaning. The technician came out, looked at the area with the blue light, and gave me his estimate. I paid the amount and the spot treatment was taken care of. The spot treatment had to work its magic for a four days before the carpet cleaning, so he returned after the weekend to run the cleaning machine. The carpets look immaculate and brand new and I highly recommend this company for its carpet cleaning expertise. The former owner of Chem Dry cleaned my carpets and furniture several times in the past 10 years but this business is no longer veteran owned. When I called to schedule a cleaning they told me it was the same retired USMC owner. 2 guys show up the next day and they are not the same company, did not have any identification other than a Tshirt with the logo, no equipment, and said they are the new Chem Dry and bought out the business 3 years ago. I looked at over 10 companies narrowed it down to three and Steven's Chem-Dry was one of the three. Let me give you a little background, I had a fairly simple job to complete, I just need about 450sq ft. Cleaned and polished. Pretty simple nothing crazy, no damage or spills on the floor. Steven's Chem-Dry Carlos came out gave a very fair price. It wasn't the lowest, but you get what you pay for. So I decided to go with Carlos. He did assure me he would be the one to perform the job to my satisfaction. I have to say my wife and had our doubts of if it would really make a difference. Carlos, came out with his assistant moved any heavy furniture and started. The whole process took a couple of hours and WOW! You could see a major difference. He did two things besides clean and polish a floor that stood out. 1) Every spot on the whole floor was hand cleaned first and he never rushed to finish. I mean every spot, I didn't realize we had that many. 2) Carlos, took his time and applied 2 (two) coats of polish. Now he didn't have to do that if he was so concerned about cutting costs. It looked awesome with 1(one) coat he just cared. That's pretty rare in the service world. I would highly recommend Steven's Chem-Dry for any type of work, he cares about you. read more

When we had the heavy rains I needed someone to help in the basement for a wet rug. Steven's came out quickly but did a pretty crummy job and charged a fortune. I have grease stains on my rug and they did not put the padding back correctly and I have lumps in the carpet and I don't even think they dried it completely. Booo.. how sad. We have used this company twice in the past to clean our carpets. This was the third time. The crew of two arrived on time, worked hard and completed the job quickly. I had two sets of stairs with ground in dirt and one spot in my small living room. I was told I needed the "deep clean" and that cost $40 more. Carlos, the owner, threw in a free treatment so next time the dirt will come out better. Made me feel a little better about having to spend the extra money. So my Groupon was going to expire and I needed to take advantage of it. Spoke to Carlos and scheduled an appointment. I was given a 2 hr window and Marco and another gentleman showed up right on time. I was getting the carpets cleaned in 5 bedrooms. After a little bit of upselling (not high pressure, hence the extra star) they got right to it. I knew some stains wouldn't come but that's normal. After an hour they were finished and the carpets look great. Everything will be dry in a few hours vs. a few days. Nice lemon-y scent as well. Will add pics of the results. Great job guys! read more

Steven's Chem Dry - I am writing to provide feedback on your service. Scheduling an appointment seemed easy, at first. But the email message I received (below) in response to the online scheduling request was ambiguous. I could not tell if it was confirmed or not. I then received a call from the technician the following day to confirm the day/time - but he pushed hard to get me to do it earlier in the day. The reason I chose an afternoon appointment was due to conflicts with my own client schedule. Both my husband and I work from home offices and have business in the AM. Once we agreed to my original time request, I got another call on the day of the appointment from the same technician, again asking if he could come earlier. I said no. Then he called again, and I agreed to one hour earlier. THEN he called back and said, 'never mind, the company gave me another house to clean, so I'll be there at the original time.' A bit annoying, but fine. He did show up within the time window, even though he called AGAIN to say he was on his way and would be earlier. After all of the back and forth about scheduling, he was polite and did a good job with the cleaning. However - the cost to do area rugs is rather extreme. Because you do not have the pricing online, I had to get the news directly. We do not have ANY wall to wall carpeting, but instead have area rugs on hardwood floors. The total for our 2 story condo (2 large area rugs, 3 small ones and a runner) with one sofa was over $800 + tax. I had my whole house in Atlanta GA cleaned for $500, with carpeting nearly throughout. I agreed to this cleaning because we needed it done and it was so inconvenient to set up in the first place. But I will look for another service provider the next time we need our carpets cleaned. And I will get an estimate before agreeing to the service. read more

First of all, I didn't think the carpets were very dirty, but chose this carpet cleaning service from a Groupon offer. After the Steven's team finished, I couldn't believe the difference. The team arrived ontime, and had a clean professional appearance. Unlike other carpet cleaners I have used, they didn't drag long heavy hoses throughout the house, but instead sprayed the carpet with foaming cleaner, and then used a buffing-like machine to clean. The process was quiet, unlike those loud "steam-extract" machines. I had no visible pet stains, so I couldn't judge on their ability to extract those. Even my son was surprised at the results. I will likely call them again to clean the rest of the carpets. read more

I had my wall-to-wall carpet in 3 rooms cleaned today. Marco was the tech, and he was amazing! There was one stain (red juice or something) that he said he could not get out. However, he got about 95% of all the other stains completely out. I can't believe how much better the rooms look. For $120, I think the value for the money was superior! And to the lazy person complaining that Chem-Dry was not willing to move furniture, what do you expect for the low cost they charge? A really pleasant experience from beginning to end! I scheduled an appointment online (which was fantastic, because I totally have a phobia about calling people on the phone) and was surprised at how soon they could come out. I live in a group house, and had a tiny window of time between when one roommate moved out and the other needed to move in. The exiting roommate had also been there for seven years, and I figured it was time for a good cleaning before a new tenant moved in. I also scheduled for Steven's to clean our well-worn stairs; the bedroom of my sloppy third roommate who had spilled ink (and god knows what else?) in splotches all over her carpet; and the sunroom where my cats' litter boxes are, which, alas, also included at least three different spots where my older cat prefers to pee instead of the litter box. The technician called me the day of the cleaning to see if they could drop in early since they were running ahead of schedule, and called me again after my roommate had let them in and they had had a chance to assess the situation. They ran by me what the costs would be for the PURT (pet urine removal treatment, I think?) and for the spot treatment on the stairs and my roommate's room. They warned me that they didn't think they would be able to remove all of the ink from the carpet, and that the urine stains were so bad that they thought the PURT treatment would be only about 50% effective -- they asked if I still wanted to go ahead with the extra costs, despite those situations, and I decided to go for it. When I got home from work, the carpets looked fantastic and were nearly dry! They were able to get all of the stains out of my roommate's carpet except for one really bad ink stain (but the rest were gone! A miracle! Now the new tenant won't be scared to move her stuff in there!) They were able to get all of the cat puke stains out of the sunroom carpet (because of course they like to throw up there instead of on the tile floor) as well as years of stains from people spilling detergent meant for the washing machine in there (which I actually didn't expect to come out at all). The cat urine stains looked and smelled much, much better, though they were right that the stains and smell were initially so bad that the improvement was about 50% (maybe I'll have them come back again in the near future for additional improvement). Our well-worn stairs and carpet also look revitalized, and they nicely cleaned a small area rug that I am happy to announce actually IS gray and blue (I thought it was possible that it was white and blue, and just too dirty to tell the difference). Great service all around -- I e-mailed Steven's with a question about my bill the evening after the cleaning was done, and they responded immediately. Overall, they made the entire process incredibly painless; they fit easily into my short time frame; they were honest with their assessments and ran everything by me in advance; and they made our gross carpets look clean and nice for our new housemate. Called the company to schedule it and they came out and spent 15 minutes here MAX...they didn't even vacuum before and did not do ANYTHING that the groupon stated they would do. I'm very disappointed in the company because I called the owner to talk things through and he said he would call me back to remedy the situation and he never called back. Called groupon and got my money back. Steven called the day prior asking to switch the time, unfortunately, I was unable due to because moving it would mean Chem dry would be in my home, alone while The person in my house left to get my kids from school. When they showed up, they told me it would take 5 gallons of pet urine remover to get out all the stains. At $75 a gallon, I was not too pleased with their assessment. Stevens did not do the work, I had a different chem dry company come out and they told me that I would need no more that 1 gallon of spot treatment. After walking around with the blacklight, the new company advised against doing the spot treatment. Point being, Stevens was trying to take advantage of over selling and over charging me when I was not here to see the actual damage. There are chem dry companies out there (owners) who do the work themselves and don't have much over head. I was being overcharged to pay for the overhead. read more

They did good job getting out some difficult stains. What I am not pleased with is that they saturated areas of the carpet, which are still wet 24 hours after treatment. I was told the carpet would be completely dry in 2 hours. the buffing machine they used did not seem to be connected to any sort of vacuum to suck up any excess moisture. read more

Steven's Chem-Dry did a great job on my 10 year old 8x12 area rug. The last time I had it cleaned it was done on site by another chem-dry which was just ok. I didn't like that it was wet the rest of the day and didn't feel like it was really clean.This time, since I have four dogs, I thought it would be best to have the rug taken out to be cleaned. Steven's was the only one I could find that offered this service.The rug was returned on time(by Carlos, who was very nice and took a lot of pride in his work!) Carpets look brand new, even after years of spills, pet accidents, and other stains. Was very happy to invite them back a year later (after more stains) and am once again thrilled with the results. The people are super friendly, efficient, thorough, and professional. They'll tell you they MIGHT not be able to remove this or that kind of stain, but so far, they've never let me down! One caution, when planning for carpet cleaning: the initial price quoted is for basic cleaning only. Adding such things as deep cleaning, scotchguarding, deodorizing, etc., can significantly increase the cost, which is as it should be, but potential buyers should be aware any offer or special deal is not "all-inclusive." That said, I wouldn't dream of not getting the full package; just plan on spending more for it. read more

Hired them to clean to carpets and pretreat pet stains. They pretreated one day and cleaned the carpets the next. Contrary to what I expected they would not move furniture. The said that they guaranteed that the pet stains would be gone and not come back. They were gone for a period of time but recently showed back up. When I called the company to find out if they would do anything about it, they said it was more than 30 days (it was actually 40) and they didn't guarantee things forever. I asked him where on the receipt it said work was only guaranteed for 30 days and their only response was it's on the website, Since I had never seen the website I wouldn't know that limitation since the 30 day limit was not on the receipt and it was never mentioned by the servicemen. All I can say is Wow! I tried Steven's Chem-Dry because they had good ratings and we needed our carpets cleaned quickly. I was able to secure an appointment within 48 hours. I don't know if this is typical, but I was already impressed. Their technician arrive at the end of the appointment window. He was courteous and patient as we walked through all of the different services they had to offer. As I was just trying them out, I elected basic cleaning without sanitizer. The technician asked if I wanted small tables and chairs moved or just clean around them. I elected to have them moved, which he did carefully and efficiently. He then proceeded to clean the carpet and stairs. On completion (which was fast), not only did the carpet appear clean, but some staining discoloration which appeared after we used a carpet deodorizer was completely removed! AND they did not reappear after the carpet dried. Also they carpet was completely dry after 3 hours. I will use this service for now on. Wonderful company, with a wonderful technician.
