Doctor Natalia is awesome (never went to any other doctor from Illinois Dental Center). She is very professional, carrying and always make sure their patients are comfortable during the visit. When comes to their staff I assume they are okay, most of them are nice, especially assistants, however, there is one receptionist who is very rude and I can't stand her but it will not keep me from not coming back for my regular visits.

When my husband lost his job we were forced to get this coverage and every dentist that accepted it was rude, cruel to children, and treated you the way they treat patients at Stroger Hospital, like you are dirt. The dentists here have always treated my children with respect, they are great with small kids, especially a chatty four year old. They were patient, kind, and truly cared for my children regardless of the kind of insurance we had. Only thing is they only accept medicaid before 3p.m. which makes it kind of hard to make appointments when kids are in school. The receptionists may be a little hard to understand when you call since they primarily speak Polish but the dentists speak perfect English and explain things in a manner that the patient can understand. They have state of the art equipment and you don't have to be stuck with a needle for fillings. Thank you for treating us like real people.

The receptionist was super friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door. The dental assistant, Alex, and Dr. Tavolzhanskaya were both very gentle and caring. The Doctor was extremely thorough, doing an exam for oral cancer before we got started and also checked my blood pressure. I very much appreciated her attention to detail when reviewing my medical history and making recommendations. The X-rays of my teeth were up on a giant screen that I could see, which was pretty cool. They even gave me a goody bag at the end.

I am looking for a new dentist, so I tried this place out. I was first examined by the dentist,…read morewhich I thought was odd, because I've always gotten a cleaning first from other dentists. She barely looked at my mouth and says "Oh this whole side (gesturing to the right side of my mouth) has cavities." Then, she tells me there's plaque in between my teeth, and that she wants to see if my insurance will pay for a "deep cleaning". A "deep cleaning" (scaling and root planing) is usually recommended if you have periodontal (gum) disease -- meaning tartar buildup below the gumline, gum pocket depths of 4mm or more, or bone loss seen on X-rays. It's fairly invasive. They numb one side of your mouth at a time (it requires multiple visits, too). She was very insisting that I need one, dispite no x-rays or other data points validating this. No thank you! She probably saw I had good insurance and was trying to take advantage of me. When I went to checkout, they tried to schedule me to get 10(!) cavities filled! I'll pass. Time to find a new dentist (and a second opinion).
