In the room with me, Dr. Siegel said that cancellation was no big deal, and pressured me to schedule when I wasn't sure my work schedule could acomodate. He made it sound like cancellation happens all the time, and it's not a big deal to reschedule. When I informed them on the phone I couldn't make it (3 days notice) they informed me I would be paying $500 for the privilege or receiving nothing. They then pointed to their disclaimer forms. Since I did not record my appointment, I have no way to prove it, but I was mislead by the physician in this case. When I eventually found another specialist, and mentioned my negative experiences with Dr. Siegel they just said, "Yeah, we hear that all the time."

I'm a believer! After struggling with sinus issues for years, I was referred to Dr. Siegel at…read moreMidwest ENT by my internist. After a thorough examination, a round of medication and another exam, Dr. Siegel recommended surgery. I totally concurred. Supported by a wonderful surgical team at Northwestern, Dr. Siegel performed a number of "-tomys" and "-plastys." As a layperson, I told friends and family that my sinuses had been "roto-rootered." In the months since surgery, I've had several follow-up visits with Dr. Siegel. The staff at Midwest ENT is terrific; clearly, they're a reflection of how Dr. Siegel practices medicine. I'm no longer a mouth-breather, my sleep has improved dramatically, and my wife swears my snoring has stopped. Thank you, Dr. Siegel! Ps. With respect to criticisms about wait times, get over it. Quality medical care requires time and attention to detail. I'm enormously grateful to be on the receiving end of it!

I would not recommend this office. Overall, I received unsatisfactory service from their medical…read morepractice. I was able to get an appointment within a reasonable period of time, to address a kidney stone. The office was effecient with providing me the necessary new patient forms in advance of my appointment. In addition, they requested that I bring a copy of my CT scan conducted by visit to the ER During my appointment, Dr. Schuster's office was not able to read my CT scan because their computers could not read the disk. They were not able to see the images for the kidney stones and suggested that I stay on some medication and his office would call a refill into the pharmacy. The office never called in the prescription and there was never a response to the pharmacy refill request. Since his office is within the Alexian Brothers Medical facility in Rolling Meadows, I was able to talk to someone in the Records Department and the disc they provided of the CT scan was a DVD which as they explained is standard practice. I basically did not get any additional details that what was provided to me when I was in the ER. I had a follow-up appointment scheduled, which was set up when I left the office during my original appointment, otherwise would not have set it given my experience. Unfortunately, I was out of town on a business trip and did not get a reminder call. I was charged a $50 fee for a missed appointment. I accept the fact that it is my responsiblity to have cancelled the appointment. I called their office to ask for a waiver since this was my first occurence and they would not waive the fee, stating that it was a management decision to not waive fees. I would not recommend using this office. I am sure there are better managed offices elsewhere within the Chicagoland area.

It's a great location in Portage Park/6 Corners. The doctors are great however they cancel or change your appointment without consulting with you. I've had this happen more than once with two different providers. I really struggle with professional lack of reliability. It's also very challenging to get an appointment in a short turnaround time. This place works for now but if there's not more consistency I'll have to change providers

Dr. Sandesara has been our teenage daughter's pediatrician literally since week one. We went with…read morehim because he was referred by my OB/GYN plus his office was within walking distance of the apartment where we were living at that time. Even though we live way across town now, we didn't change providers because "if it ain't broke don't fix it", plus our kid is pretty physically healthy so we don't travel to his office much anyway . Now, here's potential deal breakers and/or makers about Dr. Sandesara so you can do the pros and cons for yourself: If you want a crunchy-style pediatrician with iPads in the waiting area to help you loophole out of the public schools' immunization requirements, keep looking. This is a pretty meat and potatoes operation. For all intents and purposes the office runs out of a storefront. Parking is on-street, exam room decor is strictly 1990s Disney, and the waiting room is run down and frequently crowded. On the upside, Dr. Sandesara is one of the most accessible doctors on our family's health plan. We have never dealt with navigating some ridiculous voice mail maze or a messaging service while simultaneously caring for a sick child. We actually have his direct cell phone number, which like never happens in this day and age unless the practitioner is a friend of the family or something. Example: my kid got sick one time while we were out of town on Christmas Eve, and we were able to reach Dr. Sandesara pronto. His staff is also super friendly. In brief: it's not perfect, but it hits the high notes in all the right places so it totally works for our family.

This place is just terrible. With all the the money these…read moredoctors make, their offices should look way more better than this. We were here once but we're not coming back. Tiny waiting area, place is run down (carpet was disgusting), not kids' friendly (this is a pediatrician) and they don't even have parking space. Also, we had an emergency situation with a new baby born and they would not accommodate our request for an appointment as prescribed by hospital because, as we were told, it's back to school time and they're too busy (!?! sounds more like a money maker than a doctor's office concerned about patients' health and well being). We were given an appointment convenient to them, not us. This is not the pediatrician I want for my child!!!

After moving back to chicago after college I returned to northshore/Swedish as that's where my…read morepediatrician was previously located. Since then I've seen only two primary care doctors (one- two times each if that), choosing them only because they had the earliest availability, not because I had a good connection with them, actually quite the contrary, as one suggested against a routine culture as I was sexually active but not showing ill symptoms. Anyway, I have an appointment for a procedure at a medspa next week and before moving forward with it, I wanted to meet with a new doctor to get a second opinion. I already paid my deposit with the medspa but have 72 hours to cancel it if need be. My primary care doctor (I've only seen once) was booked until September and I was looking to switch anyway. I booked with Dr. Johansson as he was the only doctor who had availability before my med spa appointment and had good reviews. I then received a phone call from his receptionist saying he couldn't take me. I asked why not. She said because "he's the doctor and he said so" and couldn't give me a reason. I was honest and said as long as there's availability with him online I'm going to continue to book until I have a valid reason for cancellation. I'm a paying customer with insurance. When I pushed for an answer, she said one can perceive my actions as 'doctor hopping,' which doctors don't like. I informed her that I had yet to speak with a licensed physician about this concern, as my record can reflect, and that I was just looking for a second opinion not necessarily a prescription. I previously missed an appointment regarding the same issue but the record reflects that I never met or spoke with a doctor. I haven't seen any doctor about anything since April. There was no "I'll let the doctor know" or "I'll have him follow up," it was a complete disregard for patient care. Pretentious, I have the power attitude, and cares more about being right than understanding not everyone situation is black and white. I understand there are patients that 'doctor hop' looking for a certain result but doctors should have the decency to hear a patient out. Patients should have a right to switch to doctors they feel comfortable and safe with, just like patients can switch therapists. Looks like not being able to schedule with him was a blessing in disguise.
