That's fine, except for the fact that it's impossible to get a cleaning appointment. I was told their next available is October, so they'll call with cancellations...which is extremely last minute and inconvenient on such short notice. Please stop accepting new patients (and even worse, billing their insurance for exams) if you can't provide appointments for the requested and needed treatments. I would have never come in to see the dentist if I knew it would be next to impossible to get a cleaning done. Super disappointing and a huge waste of my time as a working mom.

I had been seeing Dr Malek for about two years, and have some dental issues. I require a gum graft and can sometimes be inconsistent with cleanings due to sometimes struggling with my mental health. However, Dr Malek was initially personable when I was a new patient, then was harsh and impersonal when I returned to her practice for my cleaning. Then - I was informed that "my insurance wasn't covering the procedures I had at the right percentage" In reality, Nicholas Cosmetic had gone out of network for MetLife and no one at the practice informed me - nor was I informed when I first started their as a patient. Of course, I'd already made my way to their office, wasting my time and their time. When I said it would have been nice to receive a phone call prior to my appointment the office manager mumbled some snarky retort and was unhelpful. Further, I have concerns about the quality of work on my teeth. For months, a filling affected my bite which I've never experienced before. Then recently, floss got stuck on a piece of composite in my mouth which eventually chipped off. Doesn't seem serious but makes me question the quality of work. I also had a "deep cleaning" that Dr. Malek said I needed if I didn't want to lose my teeth - which seems to have been utter malarky. I went in for the deep cleaning and she spent approximately fifteen minutes cleaning my teeth. I was prescribed a mouth wash for the inflammation - which never came. When I told my new dentist this, she was shocked. It's clear by her designer puppy roaming the office and her Goyard bag that Dr. Malek has made her income the priority, not the care of her patients. They do have an excellent hygienist on their staff who is wonderful and I know from a different office. Given the choice of excellent dental practices in Philadelphia and amount of competition here, I will be shocked if Dr. Malek's practice survives another year. Come here if you want unnecessary procedures performed, your pocket drained, and to be treated without dignity or respect.

I picked up laziness with the way the dentist acted when I asked her if she was going to leave me in pain. Never going back to this office or any of its affiliates. This was the problem, which they could have done. I had to leave work early because of the pain and walk-in into a beautiful office that cares and shows empathy. I'm fortunate to have no major dental issues, so I mainly go to the dentist for routine cleanings and maintenance. Eventually, I agreed to a procedure, but when it didn't work, she casually told me I needed a replacement. I assumed the replacement would be covered at no additional cost, but instead I was charged again. I was disappointed, though not entirely surprised at that point. My final experience was even worse. I went in for a routine cleaning, which is supposed to be 100% covered by my insurance. The office charged my credit card after I authorized it to be kept on file. When I called my insurance company, they confirmed they had already paid the dentist. I contacted the office multiple times, but they still never refunded my money. It's unfortunate this happened, but I want others to be aware before choosing this practice. There are many great dentists in Philadelphia -- I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I had hesitated for years to get braces as an adult. But after I talked to Dr. Tuncay and saw the patients' before and after pictures, I immediately made up my mind and got my braces exactly the same day! It is definitely the best decision I've ever made. Now my teeth are straight and I am so satisfied to see the change in my profile. All my friends say that I look so much better and more confident. Three of my friends even went to get braces after they saw the improvement! Dr. Tuncay is very pleasant to talk to and all the staff are very professional. So, I called Team Dental to schedule appointments for my husband and me. I did not think there would be any available openings and was expecting to wait 1-2 months before seeing our new dentist. To my surprise, the office manager, Lauren was able to squeeze us in for a weekday evening slot. All my life, I've had to wait 20 minutes or longer in the waiting room before the dentist/dental assistant sees me. But NOT at Team Dental. The dentist/dental assistant/dental hygienist was ready to see me pretty much as soon as I arrived. All the staff at Team Dental are very friendly and professional. My first dentist visit was with Dr. Muhammad. Not only was he super thorough with my examination but he had THE BEST bedside manner of any dentist I've ever seen. After my examination, he explained to me the condition of my teeth and explained why I needed a deep cleaning. I started to freak out about how bad my teeth were, but he was very reassuring and took time to show me photos of worst-case scenario gum disease and that I was nowhere near that. All I had to do was get the deep cleaning and floss a lot more. Cynthia, the dental hygienist who did the deep cleaning for me was amazing too. I was nervous before the deep cleaning because I've never had one done before, but she properly numbed me so that I did not feel any pain. Then she deep cleaned the **** out of my teeth. Never have my teeth felt so good and so clean!!! Seeing the dentalcare I'm getting at Team Dental made me realize what good dentalcare is like. My previous dentists did the bare minimum and were never this thorough. Up to yesterday, I thought my teeth were fine, but they really weren't! Also, Team Dental understands the urgency of the health of your teeth. If you are experiencing pain and the longer care is delayed, the worse your condition will get. They will try to get you in as soon as possible, no matter how busy they are. It is really a great feeling to know the health of your teeth is in good hands with Team Dental.

I took umbrage with the business side of the practice for a consultation I had there for an obvious cavity that I wanted to be looked at. Their website said they do consultations so I called and went in. I sat down and the hygienist started to prep for a cleaning. I said no, I was there for a consultation only. They did one xray of the affected tooth, the dentist probed it and my mouth a bit, spending about seven minutes with me. The charge was $150. During the initial call for the appointment, the follow up call, and a call the morning of when they asked if I could come in earlier, there was never any mention of a consultation charge. I would have been far better off just getting a full cleaning and xrays for $250 or whatever it is and the 'consultation' would have been included. Of course, it's their right to charge whatever they want for whatever they do, but they should disclose on the website, or tell you on the phone "we may charge $150 for a brief consultation" for existing patients.
