Specialties
I specialize in psychotherapy in depth and Jungian analysis with children, adolescents and adults - both individuals and couples. My approach is practical in ways that also invite exploration of the deeper unrevealed dimensions of inner life.
With children, I use a combination of play therapy and talk therapy to ameloriate problems with loss, persistent sadness, excessive worry, attention deficit, as well as behavior problems at home and school. My goal is to work with the child and parent(s) to identify and remove obstacles, and to activate the child's innate developmental processes.
With adults, I work best with bright, creative people who are seeking constructive ways to address issues and further development. Adults come to my practice for help with the full range of life's challenges and problems with self, relationships, parenting, and work. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing experience that is also challenging enought to foster the change process.
History
Established in 1984.
My practice started in San Francisco and has expanded to include both SF and Berkeley. Since getting licensed in 1984 as a clinical social worker, I went on to earn a Ph.D and then further training to be certified as a Jungian psychoanalyst. I also teach and consult to other therapists who are seeking to develop their knowledge and skills as practitioners.
