Before starting Elena's orthodontic treatment, I had many concerns and carefully considered all of my options. After giving it a great deal of thought, I chose Steve S. Lee, MS, DDS, and now I can say with complete confidence that choosing Dr. Lee was one of the best decisions I could have made for my daughter. From our very first consultation, Dr. Lee never rushed us or overwhelmed us with complicated medical terminology. He carefully explained Elena's current dental condition, why orthodontic treatment was needed, and how the entire treatment process would proceed, step by step. He explained everything thoroughly so that I could fully understand as a parent, while also speaking directly to Elena in a gentle and child-friendly way so that she would not feel frightened or overwhelmed. That was one of the first things that truly impressed me. Even adults can feel nervous sitting in a dental chair, so I can only imagine how intimidating it may feel for a child. The sounds of the dental equipment, unfamiliar tools, and having something placed inside the mouth can all be uncomfortable and frightening. However, Dr. Lee never rushed through the appointment. Before doing anything, he calmly explained to Elena what he was about to do. He would gently tell her what was happening and reassure her throughout the entire process. He repeatedly asked her, "Are you doing okay?" "Does anything hurt?" "Are you uncomfortable?" "If anything bothers you, please let me know." Throughout the treatment, he continuously checked on Elena and carefully watched her reactions. Whenever she looked even slightly uncomfortable, he paused and made sure she was okay before continuing. It was clear that he was not only focused on placing the orthodontic appliances correctly. He was also taking care of my child's emotions and making sure she felt safe. As a parent, those are the moments that bring the greatest sense of relief. Dr. Lee did not treat Elena as simply another patient in the chair. He treated her as a child who might feel nervous, scared, or uncertain, and he showed genuine patience and respect toward her feelings. His kindness never felt routine or superficial. He took the time to make sure Elena understood what was happening. He patiently waited for her when she needed a moment, answered every question, and explained things again whenever necessary. He also listened carefully to my concerns as a parent and never dismissed any of my questions. His explanations regarding the treatment were extremely detailed and clear. He kept us informed about Elena's current progress and what to expect in the future. Because of his careful communication, many of the worries and uncertainties I had before beginning treatment slowly disappeared. Most importantly, watching the calm and caring way he interacted with Elena gave me complete confidence that we had found the right doctor to guide us through this long journey. Orthodontic treatment is not something that is completed in one or two visits. It is a long process that requires trust and cooperation between the child, the parents, and the doctor. Because of that, I believe a doctor's character and communication are just as important as professional skill. Dr. Lee truly has both. Elena was able to stay calm and cooperate throughout her treatment because he continually reassured her and carefully checked whether she was experiencing any discomfort. I've been to 4 other orthodontists in the past year and this one was supposed to be my fifth and last. I had high hopes in regards to his positive reviews and the fact that I had to wait over 2 weeks for me to barely get myself a braces consultation. I deal with an underbite that I'm very self conscious about and I wanted an orthodontist who'd be able to go tell me the step by step process of how they'll fix my problem. I won't deny he's friendly but I was taken aback by how he and his staff are so quick to dismiss someone who's not already a patient. Front receptionist was also cold.. The whole consultation took maybe a total of 5 minutes where he just looked at my teeth and talked about the slight crowding. Not once did he mention my underbite nor did he seem to think I needed braces really. He said it was an easy case that should take 2 years and left to attend to his other patients. I didn't get to ask questions since it was so rushed nor did he explain anything about what he'll do to fix my problem. He also didn't listen to any of my concerns. I understand they're busy, but this place clearly isn't interested in new patients who have yet to make a decision as to whether or not they'll pay. That being said, I was very dissatisfied and disappointed that they care only about money and wouldn't do much unless someone's fully committed. That being said, I'm still on the search for an orthodontist who'll listen and explain and give me the time of day. This place also isn't as affordable as everyone claims it is since for my teeth that "weren't too much of an issue" it was quoted to be around $5k after just a glimpse of my teeth--and keep in mind, I didn't even get an x ray done. read more

I got my teeth straightened with Invisalign here, and the results were satisfactory. When first discussing whether I should get braces or Invisalign, Dr. Lee explained the pros and cons of each as they were relevant to me. Since I was attending school out of state at the time, braces would be quicker, but would present an issue if brackets or wires were to break unexpectedly. Invisalign wouldn't correct the overbite that I have, but broken wires and brackets would never be a problem. Ultimately, he laid it all out for me and let me make my own decision. Okay, so, going to Dr. Lee was BY FAR the worst experience. During the consultation, he told me i would have braces for 1.5 years MAX; I ended up having them for 3 and throughout the entire process, I DID NOT understand what he was telling me: the man can not speak English. So, not only was I clueless as to what was happening with my teeth, but the service was always TERRIBLE and the hygenists do not know what they are doing. After 3 painful years, I got them taken off and Dr. Lee did not give me my retainers For a week. So my teeth moved willy nilly for A WHOLE WEEK. At long last, i got my retainers and THEY DID NOT FIT (I wonder why). So, i had to get braces yet again, with a differnet doctor, and i was finished (with my retainers within hours of removal) in 6 months. If i couldngive "Dr." Lee no stars, i would. If you want excellent service and beautiful teeth, do not DO NOT go to Dr. Lee Go to Dr. Gire in Chino Hills. read more
