There is a wood-chip trail that begins at the bridge and leads around the pond but ends at 8th Ave SW instead of continuing on further as I had hoped. The other downfall is the lack of playground equipment for children. There is, however, plenty of open space for kids to run around and play frisbee or bat. As you walk into the park it seems normal - a paved walking trail, gorgeous trees but towards the back you start to see that there's a large play area, but it's right next to a power station. There's a significantly long tunnel over to the viewpoint and 1-90 trail, but the opening is under what looks to be a closed down county building. The tunnel feels safe, but it's rife with graffiti that could instead be a mosaic or a mural. When you walk over to the 31st Ave area, it feels like the Mount Baker Ridge viewpoint should be connected to the park, but it's not. It's just an oddly laid out park that should have focused on replicating what the front half of the park has, sculptures and artistic prose as you walk along the trail. All in all, I wouldn't want to spend a significant amount of time here but for what it is, it's much nicer than Freeway Park and more successful in the transition from industry to safe public space.

Running though the tunnel was pretty cool with it's artwork, among the terrific paths with wonderful structures and greenery all around. The trees here are beautiful along with the care of the grounds. Paths to run and bike, playgrounds for the children to enjoy, dog park, tennis courts, picnic tables, and soccer field.

My husband and I first wandered down here because we wanted to play bocce ball and throw the frisbee around; these are hard things to do when you have a very small yard on a hill. There was ample room for both of these activities. We went on a Saturday afternoon and saw no one else the whole time we were here. For being a couple blocks off Delridge it's a pretty quiet spot. In the middle of our bocce game I decided to try out the playground equipment. I wish I had a playground like this as a kid, no sharp edges on anything and no wood! Everything was plastic or metal and had a cool design. Of course I kept thinking 'if I was 3 feet tall this would be really awesome' but I still had fun. Try out the cool little rock climbing wall. If you're looking for a chill spot to hang out with your kids or friends I would definitely recommend Cottage Grove!

This is, indeed, an A-OK little park, located just a stone's throw from the Montlake Bridge. It…read moreedges right up to Portage Bay at the eastern edge of Lake Union. It's about the size of a football field and pretty level, which makes it a good place for flat, grassy pastimes like playing fetch with a dog, throwing a frisbee, lawn bowling, whatever.* There very often seem to be small herds of kids playing here under adult supervision. There is street parking nearby, though somewhat limited because this is a one-way residential street. Much of the view from the park is actually obstructed by the Seattle Yacht Club, which I suppose is fine if you want to watch Thurston and Lovey go get into their boat with Gilligan and Skipper...for the rest of us, there is still an ample amount of shoreline that looks out onto the lake, and some that even wraps around to the Montlake Cut. Facilities are limited...a bench or two and some garbage/recycling cans, but no shelters or bathrooms. It's basically yer no-frills little park that has a nice view and gets plenty of afternoon and evening sun during the summer. It's small, but rarely crowded...a good place to eat a picnic and watch kayaks, float planes, etc. *If you are a goose, this is definitely a good park for the goose-y pastime of eating grass and then going to the bathroom (#2). For the rest of us: watch where you sit.

There was a line and security was yelling things about tickets and people seemed confused because in years past this has been an open event that is free to everyone. We eventually realized they want everyone to RSVP but entry is still free. It just took extra time and could have been done much more efficiently. It was a very warm day in Seattle today as we are in a heatwave. The total lack of shade made for a pretty miserable event. We were able to get some yummy sea moss drinks and delicious barbecue and although the entertainment was quite unorganized as well, I did hear a good song or two. However, this review is for the park itself, which is definitely a three-star park. There's a small parking area and some restrooms. Some Jimi art and information. There are paths to walk and I imagine when the grass is cared for and green that it's a nice place to walk. Today it was pretty yellow. I probably wouldn't return to the park for the park itself unless there was another event going on, but even then, the lack of shade makes this probably not the best place to be hosting events. Hopefully some of this year's donations go to planting more trees and putting up canopies here. More tables and benches would be helpful too.

The stretch of parks in this area seem to receive almost no regular watering or maintenance…read more Greg Davis Park is an extremely small park that doesn't seem well designed or particularly useful. A few of the paths are washed out and there seem to be little if no amenities. While Cottage Grove park across the street is also dried up and poorly maintained, it at least boasts a children's area and a community garden, whereas this side of the street is mostly brambles, rocks, and dying grass. We were surprised after finding so many enjoyable parks in Seattle that this little southwest stretch seems to get very little water or love. We originally intended to loop back to visit Puget Park, but the walk over from the Dragonfly was so sketchy that we ended up just deciding to head to Seward Park via Uber. Overall, this area just seems to lack funding and it's definitely not worth a special trip over to visit.

It's got a few trees that are on the Trees for Seattle walking list so if you want to see a really old pear tree - here's your chance! This isn't necessarily a destination party but it's still cool to have green space in the middle of a neighborhood.
