While it may seem like an ordinary park, it actually has a collection of outdoor toys to try. My daughter typically likes only the swings, so it was a nice reprieve from having to push her and instead have her play on the other activities. But there's not as many people at these courts so I feel like you can definitely get a court eventually. The bathroom in the park is relatively clean and the toilets are functional (i.e. they flush). There is no sanitary pads trashcan in the stalls but there is a trash can outside the bathroom so you can dispose of them there. The soap dispenser in the bathroom is broken (but that's not unexpected for a public bathroom). There's a water fountain next to the bathroom so you can fill up your water bottle there.

My toddler loves the boardwalk portions and the bridges that cross over the creeks. I love that you can barely hear the traffic and city noises (even less so now with reduced activity due to COVID-19). Especially in the rain. Birds chirping. Leaves rustling. Rain drops if it's raining. It's so peaceful and zen. There are tons of salmon berry bushes in the spring. Another thing I love is it's easily missed so I rarely see another person here, unlike the much busier Lincoln Park down the road. The paths are well laid out, although there are some mini trails that lead to dead ends other people have made. It can get a little muddy in parts if the weather has been wet, but not slippery. Just don't wear your nice shoes. If you stand around too long there are mosquitoes. So if you're not chasing a toddler and there to meditate or meander, bug spray. Sometimes there is trash on the path which makes me sad some people don't care to carry their waste to the provided trash can at the entrance.

The location of Lake Union Park is at the end of the South Lake Union neighborhood. The park is a bit overshadowed by construction nearby. The area is busy since the roads across the street leads towards I-5, but the park itself does not seem to be too crowded. The park houses the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), so that is one good reason to visit this park. The museum is a great place to learn about the history of Seattle. The park itself is great for its open space and nice views of downtown and the Space Needle nearby in addition to the aforementioned Lake Union. This park is definitely a favorite of many for different reasons. I saw some folks jumping into the lake from the bridge. While others like to get wet in the wading pools here. Even saw a flock of geese enjoying the park on a warm sunny summer day. Personally, I like watching the action on Lake Union. It is full of boats, kayaks, sailboats and seaplanes. If you are in South Lake Union, visiting Lake Union Park while in the area is worth the walk. This park's many views gives you a sense of the beauty of Seattle all around.

There was a line and security was yelling things about tickets and people seemed confused because in years past this has been an open event that is free to everyone. We eventually realized they want everyone to RSVP but entry is still free. It just took extra time and could have been done much more efficiently. It was a very warm day in Seattle today as we are in a heatwave. The total lack of shade made for a pretty miserable event. We were able to get some yummy sea moss drinks and delicious barbecue and although the entertainment was quite unorganized as well, I did hear a good song or two. However, this review is for the park itself, which is definitely a three-star park. There's a small parking area and some restrooms. Some Jimi art and information. There are paths to walk and I imagine when the grass is cared for and green that it's a nice place to walk. Today it was pretty yellow. I probably wouldn't return to the park for the park itself unless there was another event going on, but even then, the lack of shade makes this probably not the best place to be hosting events. Hopefully some of this year's donations go to planting more trees and putting up canopies here. More tables and benches would be helpful too.

It's perfect for a littler ones to have a spot to explore as their older counterparts climb and release energy, all while you sit at a picnic table in the shade of trees. (Playgrounds are exposed to much sun.)
