To echo the sentiments of others, I have nothing but high praise for the service and attention Steve's office affords us as customers. State Farm is a huge company, but Yolanda, Linda and others in the office make our experience feel very personal and individual in their care and concern for making sure every detail is taken care of and done to the best of their ability. I have been a long-time customer with coverage on all aspects of life (house, cars, etc.), and will stay for many more years! read more

Linda is amazing and takes excellent care of her clients, she's very personable, responsive, and goes above and beyond to check in and make sure everything is taken care of and going well. Been with Steve and his team forever. I typically talk to the same folks every time I call and they're always friendly, knowledgeable and quick to help. I've had policies for countless cars, bikes and my home. These days it feels like a rare treat to communicate with down to earth, real people as a customer in need of support, and I can't really imagine doing it any other way at this point. read more

Just completed upgrading my fire and earthquake insurance with State Farm. Changed from another company that seemed to be changing their company name and phone numbers often. Decided to go with a well known company with an office nearby. Got a lot more coverage--like doubled the amount of liability and half again as much for the loss value of the home for a smaller premium. Also the customer service by Linda was perfect. She gave a very clear explanation of the policy and all my options. Also I didn't have at hand some of the info required. When I texted or emailed it in, I got an immediate reply. It was amazing how responsive the service was. I highly recommend State Farm and Linda for anybody's insurance needs. Steve Grogan read more

Steve Bauer and the other people in his office have been great to work with. I am new to their office, and am very pleased that I changed insurance companies. They compared all of my policies, and provided me with better coverage, for less $$. They have been very kind and responsive to my various queries in a timely fashion. I hope to never need their services, but feel confident that if anything unfortunate arises, they will provide the same excellent service. read more

Great insurance company with the best agents ever! Super helpful team, always easy to get a hold of. They are the best :)

We purchased our condo in September 2021, well on November 13th we had a fire in our kitchen which activated the sprinklers. I was devastated and grateful for no injuries. I called my Agent Yolanda Allen and she immediately provide us with a list of companies to call to do the cleanup. This was an extremely stressful time for my family but whenever we had questions or any doubts, Yolanda would assure us everything would be ok, if she didn't know the answers to our questions she reached out to someone who could assist. Thank you Yolanda for being an amazing, attentive, supportive State Farm Agent. You are greatly appreciate. read more

Steve and his team are great. Everything has been really easy since I moved to Berkeley 15 years ago. Even though I've moved my address a few times throughout the Bay Area, I've stuck with Steve because he makes things so easy. It pays to be a long-standing customer- the discounts over time are really helpful. read more

Steve has been our State Farm agent for home and car insurance since 2001. He's always been super approachable, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful whenever we've had questions or a claim to be processed. His office staff is also helpful with answering questions and getting information when we need it. Recently Steve was able to help me get Medi-gap coverage and explained all the different options in a way even I was able to understand. He also runs a Toys for Tots station out of his office during the holiday season. Highly recommend him if you're looking for a reliable, responsive, and friendly insurance agent. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to the best insurance agent/office! I've been a client of Steve's for over 3 decades and have consistently been impressed with his and his team's knowledge, responsiveness, and overall great customer service. I have a number of policies with them (home, earthquake, auto, umbrella, long term care, etc.) and have always felt like they've got my back and genuinely have my interests at heart. They are warm and responsive whenever I call with a question or need and are great getting back to me when I've needed additional information or guidance. Fortunately I haven't had many claims over the years, but when I have they've been terrific, running interference if necessary and working to ensure my needs are met. I've worked with Steve and Yolanda the most over the years and have real trust and confidence in them. And recently I had a great experience with Linda when the replacement glass authorized for my car window repair wasn't functioning as expected. Linda was right on it, getting to the right people in claims, advocating for me, and keeping in touch with me on a daily basis until things were resolved. Steve has put together a great team and is himself a truly special agent. I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

Everyone here is dependable and always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Yolanda and Jose Luis are terrific. Recommend!

It turned out that my three policies were full of glitches and hiccups inserted by previous State Farm agents. Linda Nguyen-Cheung diligently and patiently sorted them all out. She kept me apprised at each step of the process, which took nearly two months. So grateful to her! read more

As other reviews here have mentioned, Steve and Yolanda provide a human touch that is sorely missing these days. It's great to have somebody pick up the phone when you call and they are always friendly, knowledgeable, responsive and helpful. I've been with them since about 1990 and currently have all my insurance coverage through them, and it's important to note that there are generous discounts offered for multiple policy holders. it's truly a pleasure to do business with them. I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

Steve and his team (Yolanda, Linda) are amazing and I don't know what we would have done without them helping us move from Virginia to the Berkeley area. Fantastic team and we are tremendously lucky to have them on our side! read more

It was such a smooth and great experience working with Linda. I went to the physical office and she is very patient and walked me through every detail of the policy. Steve has been so helpful in making sure that our household is fully insured. He offers complete information without trying to sell us a higher level of coverage than we want. When we purchased a new car this past week we didn't want to wait for an insurance card in the mail since we were taking a road trip. Within a very short amount of time Steve emailed a Temporary Coverage Card so we could get on the road without concern. On the rare occasion when Steve is not available, Yolanda is in the office and takes care of business just as efficiently. read more

WARNING: You might be underinsured. Replacement coverage and constructions costs have gone up!!! Your agent might not be staying on top of this. Be careful. Steve Bauer has been my agent for many years. I have my car and home coverage with him. He has made sure I am properly covered. He even came to my home! My home has many custom features, which requires additional coverage. I recently spoke with two top builders in the area who praised Steve on his accuracy. They also said most people do not have the coverage they need to rebuild if they had a complete loss. I have had one claim on my home coverage and one claim on my car. The claims process was well handled, thorough and quickly resolved. Steve also saved me money on my car insurance too!!! I get a special discount because my yearly mileage is low. Steve is always accessible. He NEVER neglects my calls and always answers my questions. This is important to me. read more

Steve and Yolanda are great! Quick to respond and on it. They remember who you are and follow up when they say they will. There are so many mediocre agents. Don't waste your time. Call Steve and Yolanda! read more

I have been working with Steve Bauer's office for so many years now and can only praise his team and especially the help of Yolanda Who has been overseeing all of my family's auto insurance needs for years with at most responsiveness and professionalism and always watching our costs and safety coverages. SO THANKFUL for all the years working with you!!! read more

Steve, Yolanda & Christopher are a customer friendly team. However, they cannot make up for the atrocious service provided by their company. The State Farm Claims Adjustment Department is wholly unresponsive and has kept my car in a repair shop (for a 5 day project) for nearly 3 weeks because of adjuster "scheduling". What good is a cheerful customer interaction if the underlying service delivery is poor? Suggest you look to other insurance carriers if you want competent service - I plan on doing so. read more

Our parked car was hit by an underinsured driver, and it was a total loss. State Farm nickle and dimed us with sub-par repairs and after-market parts to avoid a payout. We are now taking a huge loss, and are being forced to drive a sub-par version of our new car. This was how we were treated, even though we had all of our policies with State Farm. Though Steve is a decent enough insurance agent, I would not recommend State Farm for anyone who wants an insurance company to be on their side after an accident. It sucks to have to fight your own insurance agent. read more
