Jessica gave me really nice haircut. The best one in a long time. I would definitely get a haircut from her again.

I took my 4 year-old son in and left with a terrible looking haircut that I had to fix myself when I got home. The good: - I called ahead of time and was able to book an appointment with ease. We arrived on time and the stylist was ready to see us as there was no one else in the shop. - The stylist was polite and pleasant. The bad: - The haircut looked awful. Uneven front bangs, patchy and abrupt lengths at the crown, and an odd transition on one side that looks like a mohawk (the other side looks way more normal and standard). My son was calm and cooperative throughout. - The stylist went fast (~10 mins) for a 20 minute booking with no one else in the shop waiting. - The stylist didn't give me much of a chance to review the cut or give feedback before pulling off the cape. I (a dad with no haircutting experience) was fortunately able to greatly improve my son's hair with clippers and scissors at home. I thought of reaching out to the shop owner for remediation, but it looks like the stylist has been there for multiple years and mentioned in other poor reviews. Went here for the first time! First off they don't just cut children's hair which I originally thought due to only seeing children's pictures! They did a great job on my hair and also kept me engaged and got me in and out quickly! read more

I recently had my haircut at Sterling Shears by Kelly. It was by far the best haircut I have ever had. 10 out of 10! She did exactly what I asked for. I've been bringing my son here for nearly 2 years and the consistency, quality, and customer service has always varied. I've only worked with one stylist and will not say names. I'll admit she did better than other places I had tried, so I continued to support the business. However my last two appointments caused me to discontinue utilizing their services altogether. I had scheduled the evening appointment since it works best with my work schedule and my newborn. I arrived 5 minutes late, apologized as I made eye contact upon arrival but was immediately turned away. She said that she took a walk in since I was late and wouldn't be able to take my son. Mind you, their website indicates a 5 minute grace period. Although it was said with a smile just like the prior reviewer the tone and facial expression spoke otherwise. To add insult to injury, the appointment prior to this we were 10 minutes early and she took a walk in and made us wait another 15 minutes past our scheduled appointment. I've also tipped very well and was always friendly, reciprocating the same is not much of an ask and frankly should be standard in this industry. Everything happens for a reason as I found a local barber more professional, friendly, better priced, and the consistency of the cuts have been on point. read more

I've had such a hard time getting my 2-year-old son's hair cut because he's always been so scared. A woman I met at the park recommended Kelly at Sterling Shears Salon, and I'm so glad we gave it a try! Kelly was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, patient, and genuine, allowing my son to sit on my lap during the haircut, which really helped calm his anxiety. The entire experience was smooth, and for the first time, there were no tears! Kelly was professional, quick, and did a fantastic job--his haircut looks adorable! So I've been here at least three times before. The younger girl who cuts my hair is so much fun to talk to and she does a great job, I always think about coming back because I've had no bad experience. Until this morning, I was seven minutes late to my appointment and a mother of three had already beat me to getting inside the building. The barber was a woman I had not seen at this location yet. I apologized about being late and wanted to know if I could still get a haircut. She instantly interrupted me and said my appointment was canceled. I asked if I could just wait until the others are finished with their appointment, she then cut me off again. Telling me that I can't. See, I get that I was late, and she had just begun seating another client, but she already had zero patience with me. Although everything she said was with a smile but it came with the most disrespectful tone. She didn't care enough to help find a suggestion on what I could do in my situation. I would have wanted to reschedule in person but I could tell . I will be coming back here in hopes that I get my usual hairstylist. My daughter ( 11yrs old)got her haircut there yesterday with Kelly. When I made the appt online it says 20 mins without shampoo. The haircut took no more than 5 mins and the worst part is her hair where her bangs was cut is crooked . read more

If you want a two second hair cut you came to the right place. They will not section off your hair and cut your hair properly. I will never come here again. She ruined my hair. Kelly half way blow-dried and charged me for a blow-dry when my hair was still wet. I had to pay someone else to recut my hair after their botch job. Don't go here. read more

On July 1 Monday, I requested for an appointment for a haircut. I was scheduled for 1:30 Tuesday July 2, 2024 and it was confirmed via text message. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 I showed up at 1:15PM only to find the shop closed and a signboard that says "closed and be back at 2:00PM". I went back to my car and waited for 2:00PM. While waiting, I got a text @ 1:35 telling me that I was a NO SHOW. I told her that I was there at 1:15 and the shop was close. I went back to the shop at 1:35PM only to find this lady cutting the hair of a boy. She asked me to come back at 3:00PM. I said: are you kidding me? I told her again the same text message that I told her. She said "I actually don't feel like cutting your hair". So I took off so pissed. At around 2PM, she texted me to come back. Full disclosure, I was 10 minutes late for my appointment. I am here visiting from out of state and being unfamiliar with the area, along with poor signage, it was difficult to find. There was a paper taped to the door saying sterling shears. (I don't know, maybe it's a new place/location). When I arrived I apologized for being late and she said I missed my appointment. I was a little reluctant to take my son here to get his hair cut because of the few bad reviews. But there were a lot of good ones so I figured all would be good. Well I was wrong, and I don't like confrontation so I didn't say anything while we were there yesterday when she was done. Poor kid has a hack job. We normally take him to the barber but they were closed yesterday and he really needed a cut because his hair was in his eyes. Came here before for a consistently good haircut for my boy with the owner, Kelly, but were attended by a new girl yesterday, Nikki, and both me and my son got uneven haircuts. I'm not at all high maintenance and it was a simple request for a bob cut. It's hard to find a decent cut under $30 these days but so far so good for me. Been here twice now and both times I got a nice zero high fade comb over trim, one of the harder ones to get right. The stylist I've been going to is really friendly to chat with, even remembered I had a son recently the 2nd time I came in. Note: I'll keep it real that I'm not the most particular person when it comes to my hair so if you're looking for that extra sharp barber quality cut, I can't guarantee this is the place for you. read more

Yaaaay!!! First time here, I drove over 1hr to have my 3yr old haircut here because of the great reviews for kids cuts! Wow! Gracie was amazing. She was extremely patient with him, as he's had some difficulty with getting his haircut in the past at other places. He has a hard time sitting still and hates the clippers, but she made it as fun as possible and he even let her take some length off with the clippers. Ok so I wanted to rate this salon higher as everyone was nice. However, something that was kind of disappointing is when entering the salon on a hot afternoon there was no water in the refrigerator that obviously was working. The blue light was on. There was a coffee maker and coffee with all the extras but when I tried to make some, I was told by the manager they ran out of coffee cups yesterday. As far as the water goes, it was still in the package from the store inside the cabinet and I had to go searching for it myself. Just my personal opinion and a suggestion from somebody who's been in the hair business for 30 years it would be better to be prepared every morning with a full refrigerator with cold water, coffee cups if necessary everything ready to go for the day. It only takes a few minutes to stop after work the day before and pick up the incidentals, and it shows that you care about the salon and the customers. I think with a little tender, loving care this place could have a lot of potential, but at the moment it looks kind of like it's not finished. Customer service only because they seemed very confused when we arrived. Come to find out they gave our two appointments to someone else but they did squeeze us in anyway, so not bad. Haircut/Stylist very sweet girls, not bad haircuts, about "average" for the price. Very nice middle of the road experience, I would definitely go back. read more

Just brought my little man here for a hair cut. Actually, I needed his hair cut fixed. I had taken him to another business for a haircut last week and at first it looked okay because it was styled but after we washed it, I could tell it was NOT ok. Sterling Shears came highly recommended by a few mom groups, so we headed over. Kelly was his stylist and is also the manager. She was so friendly, easy to talk to and did a wonderful job on my little man. The space is big and clean. You get an overall good vibe here. I'm so glad we came. Plus, you can't beat a $15 dollar kids haircut. While everyone else is upping their prices and charging so much for a kids hair cut, sterling shears stays consistent with their prices and you can get a great experience.
