I have had to ring other taxi firms a good few times because of lack of cabs on the road, and on Saturday night I was pretty much convinced from now on I would be taking my business elsewhere. We booked a taxi from Central Station back to Lenzie for us getting off a train for 7pm, and at 7.40pm it arrived. After ringing at about 7.15pm we were given a pretty harsh talking down to by the receptionist, who said we would be 'lucky' we were getting a cab as the roads were so bad, he could be really late. Fair enough, the snow had fallen, but when you take a booking almost an hour and a half earlier, this should be detailed then. The driver then arrived sans any sort of apology or explanation for being 40 minutes late, and said that the icy roads in Lenzie had kept him behind and that we should have 'rang another taxi firm'. Funnily enough, it only took us just under 20 minutes to get back to Lenzie. Gritters must have been working extra hard whilst he was picking us up. Not impressed. At all.

I moved to Lenzie from Edinburgh a few years ago and we've used lenzie taxis mostly for going to the airport but also a couple of times to get into Glasgow. I'd say we've used them about 10 times or so and never had any problems, with them being late or the cars being unclean. We've never had a rude driver and to be honest I can't really remember the conversations with the receptionist(s), I'm sure if he/she had been rude I'd remember. I've found them both reliable and good value. I appreciate people have had different experiences but my personal experience has been fine.

We'd finished a boozy brunch yesterday and I decided to book an Uber home. Firstly, you need to watch for surge pricing. This pops up as a notification when you try to search for a taxi but I think they could have another reminder in the process, just so you really know what you'll be paying. It came up with 1.5x surge (meaning you pay 1.5x the normal rate because there's a high demand). I just cancelled and waited a few minutes before checking again, and the surge period had finished. I like the app and find it really easy to use - no worrying about where your taxi is because you can see it on the map, no worrying about paying by card or having cash as it's all done in the app so you just hop out at the end. Our taxi arrived within a few minutes and we were on our way. A trip into the city centre for us with our usual taxi company is £12.50, this ride was just £14, so the prices aren't really too different (our taxi company had a 15 minute + wait). I'm not going to say that I'd use Uber all the time in Glasgow but they're definitely handy to have. Also, in my experience (probably 30+ rides with Uber in various cities) the drivers tend to keep the cars in excellent condition.

Über has only recently arrived to Belfast so any time I've checked there is never any cars available. Our car arrived within minutes - I think this is my favourite thing about Uber - you can tell exactly how much time you have before your car is going to arrive. So you can finish off your drinks and walk outside exactly as your taxi arrives. Our driver was pleasant and chatty. He mentioned that he can review passengers and that passengers can also rate him. (Little did he know that we were Yelp Elites and he was getting reviewed anyway). The fair from the bus station to the west end area of Glasgow cost less that £5 and the receipt was emailed to me within minutes of getting out of the car. It just comes straight out of your bank so there's no worrying about stopping for cash. All in all a great experience with Uber and I'll definitely use them again!

The man on the phone told me the driver had been cancelled as he didn't want to take the dog (why pick up the job in the first place then?) I told the man on the phone to just cancel the job and I would try with a different company, he misheard me and thought I said I'd get a decent company, when I tried to rectify the mistake he was rude to me and hung up on me. So overall zero professionalism and zero communication. Putting 2 stars as I have had a good journey with them before but tonight has been ridiculous.

They're operators can also be a tiny bit arsey if you call back to check when your cab is on the way, and they don't send a handy text when your car is on the way either. That said, nine out of ten journeys with Hampden go swimingly, and I recently had a driver who gave some intelligent, culturally minded chat, rather than the tired "send 'em all back" monologue you often expect. Not my first choice cab firm, but still four stars.

Despite this the driver went to the incorrect entrance, I sent another sighted person I was with to go and ask the taxi to come round while I stayed with our visually impaired friends as we physically could not get out of the other entrance, however, when they hailed the taxi they were ignored and the driver just left. I then called the company back to order another taxi, mentioning what had happened with the driver. The call operator was then extremely aggressive and blaming me for this incident, despite saying multiple times it had to be the back entrance and giving multiple markers. All in all this was a horrible experience from operator to driver which left our whole party very distressed and extremely upset and I would never use or recommend this company. I also advised the venue who recommended them of this incident and they will no longer be recommending it to visitors

Traveling with two young children can be a challenge, but the owner, Amar, made it incredibly easy. Communication was clear and prompt and he was always punctual, which gave us peace of mind, especially for catching our flight. The car was spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with properly fitted and clean car seats already in place--something that's hard to find. Most importantly, Amar was personable and so good with our young kids that they hugged him like family when he arrived to take us on our final trip to the airport. He went above and beyond to help us with bags and logistics and made a big effort to get me back my phone when I left it in the back of his car during the kid wrangling (thanks Amar!). Highly recommend this service to anyone traveling in Glasgow (also for Edinburgh Airport transfers), especially families. We'll absolutely book again next time we're in town!

I was going from Aros Dr Mosspark Glasgow G52 to Cairnhill just outside Airdrie to see my beloved partner Lorna. After expecting a very long delay the taxi was outside the house within 5 minutes. The driver Tony is one of thee kindest most helpful genuine nicest person i have met in years. I felt like i was getting VIP chauffeur service. When we got to my destination i could not believe how low the fare was i said Tony please double check surely it must be so much more. Tony rechecked and said no Michael that is the correct fare. Once at Lorna's the first thing i done was to phone Pacific Cars to thank Tony and them for a 5 star service for a 1 star price. Truly truly sublime outstanding service. Wow wow wow !!!!!!
