His surgical skills are outstanding and without question was the most recommended. I had no difficulty at all post op. My surgery was done at Proliance Surgical Center and their staff are the best (not surprised) and Dr. Christal's support staff at the Proliance Orthopedic Center in Edmonds were responsive, friendly and very efficient (again, not surprised). Another very important issue is the thoroughness with which Dr. Christal prepares his patients for surgery. He builds into the process the conscientious attention to detail and in particular his instructions regarding limiting the chance of infection by starting "decolonization" five days before surgery and setting PT goals early were appreciated. His pain management is stellar and I recovered with lightening speed. [My physical therapy was handled by Evergreen Home Health, so see also their yelp review.] I would recommend Dr. Christal to anyone seeking knee surgery. Everyone there was been just wonderful. She has blossomed, and we are so proud of how far she has come. We had speech and play therapists come to our house weekly and we joined the co-op preschool, which is the highlight of my daughter's week (and everyone is excellent about COVID precautions). In co-op she learned to share toys with other children, follow directions in circle time, play at the gym, and try new snacks. They teachers are very patient, kind, and thoughtful and gave advice on not only speech exercises but behavior, managing tantrums, setting boundaries. In a society where teachers/therapists don't get enough credit, I wanted to say thanks to Theresa, Jen, Katherine, and Laura. Things such as making a personalized bedtime routine chart, wearing a princess dress for my princess obsessed daughter's birthday, and setting up her favorite toys mean a lot. My daughter has gone from whispering just "mama/dada" to using her voice and saying 10 word sentences / verb tenses so she is "graduating" (complete with a tiny cap/tassel and grown). This will make her transition to daycare/preschool much smoother, and I hope she will always love school like Kindering co-op. We will miss these teachers very much and are truly grateful for everything.

It's a huge bonus that they have urgent care- so many kid issues require last minute appointments and we've never had trouble getting in. Appointments do not feel super rushed. It's cleaner than most doctors offices I've been too. The only down side is during busy times (like after school) the waiting room is packed with sick kids sitting really close to you. All in all though, good quality healthcare is really hard to find these days, and they are doing it pretty well here.

Highest recommendation. No caveats…read more I've been a patient of Greenlake Primary Care for 30+ years. Dr Krista Hodne is my current doctor. (Previously, Dr Busch and Dr Starkebaum.) I'm a cancer survivor, among other stuff. Nothing about my care is easy, straightforward. Some of my troubles have taken years to bring under control. Dr Hodne is the best partner, life coach, and caregiver anyone can ask for. She and her team have gone above and beyond for me, time and again. Two strategies are proven to improve patient outcomes. Constructive long-term relationships, obviously. Emphasizing wellness over treating disease. Knowing this, I enthusiastically supported Greenlake's switch to a concierge model. The concierge model is a rejection of our nation's immoral, inefficient, profiteering fee-for-service model. It's a return to our Rockwell-esque notions of the family doctor. It allows doctors to spend as much time as needed with a patient, to do research, to coordinate all the referrals, to do battle with insurers, etc. No one is getting rich in family practice. Or running an independent clinic. Do the math, read the news. The providers at Greenlake Primary Care are making huge sacrifices. Just to keep the lights on. Just to deliver actual healthcare. Yes, concierge requires memberships to make it work. Until our nation adopts Medicare For All, it's the best available option. I chose to be a member, despite living off credit cards (at the time), because I wanted to get better. I chose correctly. You can too.
