I drive here back in May because I wanted to get a second-opinion and because I wanted to meet the legendary Dr. Feinerman. I wanted to join the Secret Service and one of their mandated requirements is to get eye surgeries. However, I was never given a transparent explanation on how thick or thin my corneas are. I'd read about the horrors of lasik eye surgery, and the recent suicide of a police officer really made me think twice and such. Dr. Feinerman gives you evaluations for free on that stuff. My heart goes out to that police officer's family and friends for their loss. Dr. Feinerman and his team are so wonderful and amazing. They have these machines that thoroughly examine your eyes and even has a small machine one the size of a small coffee maker you'd find at Target that tells you how old your prescription glasses are. Dr. Feinerman also loved the matcha-Sakura pocky sticks I gave him along with a slice of sweet potato pie as a gift for his generosity and job.

I initially came in for a LASIK consultation but it was found that ICL was a better option due to my cornea shape. I had great results and 20/20 vision immediately after surgery. Healing went great and I immediately went back to work the next day. The office is punctual, professional, and very helpful. I would recommend Dr Feinerman to everyone and am very grateful to have had this life-changing procedure.

While a lot of plastic surgeons can do these, it was suggested to me to see an ocular specialist. I don't expect surgeons to be perfect but Dr Liu is about as close to that as you'll find. From the initial visit, you can tell how meticulous and knowledgeable she is. What I also appreciated and respected was her honesty, transparency and tastefulness. I had wanted an outcome that couldn't be achieved solely from addressing the eyelid tissue but because of my Asian heritage, I learned it was an eyebrow tissue issue that could only be addressed by also going into the eyebrow area. I am guessing there are surgeons who would have reassured me and told me what I wanted to hear that the scarring on the eyebrow area would be minimal and almost non visible. Dr Liu was upfront about the range of scarring possibilities and while optimistic, she gave a genuine and realistic response so that I could make the right decision for me. I wasn't looking for a transformational outcome but rather a return to a more naturally rejuvenated look. The 3 hr surgery went smoothly and Dr Liu came by afterwards to reassure me of that and that I am a bruiser and sweller which would have been very concerning ( because I looked like I got into a car accident) had Dr Liu not stated that my recovery should not be impacted by that. She couldn't have been more right. It was amazing how quickly I healed and how painless it was ( I never had to take a single pain med while doing EVERY post op care by the book). And I appreciated the Dr and the office staff so much for always responding to my nervous Nelly questions along the way. My husband is happy because I still look exactly like how he has always seen me and, I am grateful for being able to go makeupless without feeling as self conscious about the big bags underneath my eyes anymore. One last but not least comment is for the office staff. Jennifer in particular is very type A - just like I want her to be because 1) she was smart enough to schedule me at a top notch surgery center that was less expensive than the others 2) she walked through step by step my pre and post op prep and care instructions rather than just provide the "sheet" for me to interpret myself 3) she sent numerous well received reminders for all my appts so that I wouldn't forget 4) she responded to all my many texts quickly so i wouldn't worry. I would recommend Dr Liu and her staff to anyone and particularly to those with the most discerning tastes. :)

Her behavior came across as unprofessional, dismissive, and condescending. Throughout the visit, I felt that I was being talked down to. For example, when discussing the possibility of eye inflammation related to my autoimmune disease, I was made to feel almost stupid for not already knowing that inflammation could cause significant redness or bloodshot eyes. I am not an ophthalmologist, and I came to the appointment seeking a professional explanation--not to be made to feel ignorant for asking questions. When we discussed my strabismus, I was told that my options were essentially surgery or wearing thicker glasses to hide my eyes. I found this discouraging and quite frankly very insensitive commentary. What bothered me most, however, was how she decided to end the appointment. She had previously told me that I was the same age as her children. And since I had lived all this time with my condition, I would be essentially throwing away money buying glasses. To be completely honest, I sat there in shock silently processing everything she had said and she took my silence as not understanding her. She suggested that I call my mother because it would be easier to understand. This did not make any sense. Regardless of my age or how close in age I am to her own children, I am an independent adult, and I expect to be treated like one. Being young does not mean that I am incapable of understanding my medical care or making decisions for myself. I would have appreciated an explanation delivered with patience and respect rather than being spoken to as though I were a child who needed my mother to understand a medical conversation for me. I have no issue acknowledging her credentials and I am sure she is very intelligent in her field, but expertise does not excuse dismissive, condescending, or unprofessional behavior toward a patient. I left the appointment feeling talked down to rather than listened to. She spent all of 10 minutes with me and it was enough to leave a horrible first impression. As a current student looking to enter into a health care career in the near future, the conduct of her practice is alarming and disheartening. Doctors should go into their careers to help their patients not to dismiss or diminish their concerns.

I found her by a recommendation from another excellent ophthalmologist in a different field. I came to her office with a client, who was initially quite stressed and irritable because of severe health challenges. Within just a few appointments. I watched how Dr. Reznik's compassionate care turned my client from a tough patient into a real fan. Every time, doctor took time to make my client feel comfortable, physically and mentally, and addressed our many questions and concerns. She just makes you feel save and respected, which is very important for my client's delicate psyche. It goes without saying, that Dr. Reznik lived up to the high recommendations we received from the referring specialist. My client's intraocular pressure is under control, and she's using eye drops that are least abrasive to her eyes. Our appts. are fully covered by my client's insurance, and we never had any issues with billing. The receptionist is also a pleasure to deal with. So you can imagine why we always look forward to those appointments.
