I had a very disappointing experience at this OBGYN office. While the staff was technically kind,…read morethe environment was not welcoming at all. It felt very clear that I was new and didn't "belong," which made an already vulnerable situation even more uncomfortable. The doctor herself seemed like a kind person, but she had no bedside manner. She was very soft-spoken, rushed, and provided no clear direction or explanations. The appointment felt extremely quick and impersonal, like I was just another number, not a patient they genuinely cared about. I left with no helpful information, especially regarding my infertility concerns and possible PCOS. The only reason I did not ask more follow up is because if my doctor does not come in confident, I am not going to feel comfortable. I also am a part of support groups so I know at least the basics. But as a new patient who has never had to deal with any of these issues, if you came to this office, you would leave worried, sad, and confused. I had an ultrasound done, but the doctor never communicated the results to me. (Which usually i have had done same day, but I gave them time) After waiting a full week, I had to legally request the report myself. I was simply told, "It is now in the portal," with no professionalism or follow-up explanation. It has now been three weeks since my appointment, and I still do not have the doctor's interpretation...only the raw report, which I now have to take to another provider. I initially assumed my follow-up appointment would finally go over the results, but I was called while at work and told the doctor was unavailable and that I needed to reschedule, despite booking the appointment a month in advance. When I called back the very next morning, my appointment had already been canceled without giving me a chance to speak to anyone. I do want to mention, though it may not be their fault directly, but I kept getting a bill for the ultrasound right after my appointment. They notified me twice through email, and once in the mail, and now it is on my portal. I understand I owe (I did not know that at the office) but bombarding someone with a bill when they haven't received results is just distasteful. Especially since it has only been a short period of time and I am being hounded to pay a small charge. Overall, there was no bedside manner, no real guidance, poor communication, and no meaningful help provided. For something as serious and emotional as infertility and reproductive health, this felt like a complete waste of my time, money, and emotional energy. I will not be returning. I really hope this review helps someone, because I saw so many good reviews and really trusted this could be my new journey. There are a few bad ones, and I dismissed them, but I highly encourage you to not dismiss them as easily as I did and be prepared. Edit to add more photos of conversations. I guess asking for further interpretation is too much, saying my results are " Consistent with PCOS" is lazy. It doesn't give me any plan of action any explanation for the rest of my results or any proof that it is. Please I beg any women to find care elsewhere.

If I could leave 0 stars for Dr. Hamby, I would!! My appointment at Eastside Gynecology's Grosse…read morePointe location with her was one of the most dismissive, hostile, and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever had. From the start of the appointment, I was rushed, talked over, and repeatedly dismissed by her. Despite clearly verbally stating at the beginning of the appointment that I was uncomfortable asking questions DURING the exam, I was forced to do to so. When I asked a few questions about my current and future health, after being cold and dismissive already, Dr. Hamby snapped at me and rudely said "I know how to practice medicine, thanks!" instead of answering very reasonable question of at what point the tested for certain things if you were trying to conceive. As if that weren't enough, I asked her when I should be getting mammograms since breast cancer runs in my family and all she said was "1 in 8 women get breast cancer" then I had to ask her again because I didn't know what that meant? She then dismissed me and said "thats not that many, 35 years old or older". No patient, especially in such a vulnerable setting should be treated with this level of arrogance, hostility, and disregard. I would strongly urge others to avoid Dr. Hamby if they expect basic compassion, professionalism, or respect.
