As someone who is incredibly afraid of doctor visits, Dr. McCune was perfect! She was attentive,…read morekind and caring. Great multitasker too - as she took notes, she pointed the screen at me so that I could see what she was doing, and she gracefully kept up the conversation. After I disclosed my discomfort around giving blood, she revised her plan to try and get as much done with only one blood draw. Dr. McCune also gave me some tips on how to handle the blood draw. Unfortunately I still passed out like a light, but we were well prepared and the staff in her office were incredible. Dr. McCune's medical assistant, Brittany, was also very kind and attentive. We had great conversation and she put me at ease during one of the shots. Unfortunately my appointment did start 45-60 minutes late that day (not sure if this occurs frequently), but in general I have heard all doctor visits often start late. I'll certainly be back! Highly recommend.

I'm still a patient of Dr. McCune's and she still deserves five stars. She's been a great partner…read moreover the years, and under Dr. McCune's care and her coordination with my GI I was able to get a diagnosis, and more importantly, get better. The first time I saw Dr. McCune I was at my lowest point, and for awhile now I've been really thriving. When I see her and have periodic health concerns or questions, she always takes the issues seriously, and she's able to put them in context of my overall health. She has also helped me see how far I've come in the past 5 years. Dr. McCune is the only physician at Sutter that I've stuck with for this long, and I'm grateful to be her patient!

Will not be coming back to Berkeley Urgent Care again. Felt…read moreignored by the Doctor and we did not leave with what we needed most, antibiotics, even though we asked three times. They prescribed OTC remedies that did nothing. My daughter had a chronic cough and sickness for a month. We made another appointment two weeks later with her primary care doctor for an urgent sick visit since she was not healing from this ongoing cold and chronic coughing-vomiting. Castro Valley Dr. gave her antibiotics and she was better in two days. The lack of compassion for the patient and families needs is very costly with our experience with Berkeley Urgent Care. Listening to the patient is key to a successful relationship for good health and it doesn't seem to be happening in Berkeley. Another incident at Berkeley Urgent Care happened when I went in with what I thought was shingles and they sent me to the ER for an abdominal exam. The minute I arrived at the ER and went through triage, they spotted the small rash and said it was shingles instantly. Berkeley Urgent Care blew me off and sent me to the ER and cost me $6k. My Family has learned a very expensive lesson with Berkeley Urgent Care.

Came in here with debilitating stomach pain only to be told to leave and move myself to another hospital. In that state, the whole point of going to urgent care was because we could barely move. What is the point of naming yourself urgent care if you are not fully equipped to handle emergency situations? If the situation ended up being urgent, it could've been dangerous. :( The only plus side is that we were seen within 10 minutes.

I HAVE HAD TO UPDATE MY REVIEW FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT EDIT MY OTHER ONE SO HERE IS THE UPDATED…read moreONE BASED ON MORE INTIMIDATION Sutter Health, through Alice Cannan, N.P. (RN License No. 497575) and Sutter team , failed me in a way that should concern anyone who expects patients to be heard and treated with basic care and accountability. I presented with severe, persistent pelvic pain, returned repeatedly for help, and was given round after round of unnecessary antibiotics despite no confirmed infection. The ultrasound showed a thickened endometrial lining that was not called out as it should have been, and the delay in diagnosis caused real harm to my body and prolonged suffering. All of this is documented in the medical record, expert declarations, and the court filings in Alameda County. During the relevant time period, Nurse Alice Cannan was on disciplinary probation with the California Board of Registered Nursing, and that information is publicly available. If I went back six times, that should have been a sign that something was seriously wrong and that someone should have paid attention. I am only updating this because I have once again been threatened by Alice Cannan's lawyer, Denise Billups-Slone, who has gone so far as to contact Yelp's legal team. Yelp legal contacted me and told me I was within guidelines, so I am not being silenced by intimidation. This kind of response is exactly the problem: patients with honest, documented complaints are not heard, are not apologized to, and are instead threatened, buried, and pressured into silence. I am happy to discuss my experience with anyone. Please make your own decision, but I believe patients deserve transparency and accountability, not legal bullying when they speak the truth about negligent care. One would think that if a patient returns six times, someone would actually pay attention. Instead, I got repeated antibiotics, repeated delays, and repeated threats. I will continue to speak honestly about my experience.
