He used a wood filler to build the heel back up, restained the heel to match, replaced the sole and even put new insoles in (also had severely worn down) - all for less than the cost of replacing them. From re-soling Bally loafers and Louboutin heels, adjusting the fit, fixing rips in the heel of stilettos, repairing and polishing purses, replacing a metal shank in a pair of sandals - we've used a lot of his services. While it's not inexpensive, you get what you pay for and I'm glad to not spend a lot more for a new pair of shoes that then needs to be worn in.

Winter has been harsh on my boots but not for long!…read more My precious leather Dolce platform high-heeled boots need to be re-heeled: These are my all-time favorite shoes- they are sexy, they are four and a half inches in the super-slim heel, they are comfortable and I walk like a super-tall supermodel in them (even if I am merely over five feet in stature). The heel was torn off the right, I might have cried. They may need a new insole. They definitely look like they have taken a harsh beating... scratches, scrapes, salt stains... Don't get me started on my suede lace-up knee-high boots- the sole has completely become disconnected from the heel of the boot itself and they need to be re-glued and re-stitched by a pro for waaaay less than the cost of new boots. Not that I want new boots- these are my favorites too and no, can't live without them. A polish, new heel, re-glued sole for a mere $38 in cash (just cash, no cards) will save them from the polar vortex shoe massacre. Conveniently, this is a hop, skip and a jump from my workplace. Also conveniently, they can do same-freaking-day-repair... which I kinda need as I have been putting this off for longer (letting my shoes live under my desk) than is healthy for my feet. They lied about how much work they would do…read more I brought in a pair of Allen Edmonds. The Allen Edmond factory offers a complete recrafting of their shoes for $150. This pair would cost $425 new at retail, but sometimes you can catch it on sale (allenedmonds.com) Jesse told me they were capable of the full rework at a faster turnaround - he lied! They put on new soles, heals, an additional durable sole cover and finished with a polish. They did not refinish the uppers like they said they would rather did a simple polish using a color that didn't match the original color. There was no refinishing of the uppers, even though they had worn beyond what a simple street shine could cover. They did not repair the worn straps on the monk straps of the shoe. But they charged me the $150 that I foolishly told them the factory would charge. I won't be going back - ever.
