He was so kind and gent and approachable. He even have great parenting tips. We had another grandchild who needed help over the weekend. He was out of town but his NP MaryKate was right on top of it. Dr. McElligott received her Medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon and completed her pediatric residency and her adolescent medicine fellowship training at the University of Utah. She was the Director of the Teen Mother and Child Program from 1987 to 2008 which provided comprehensive health care for at risk pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children. She provided medical care and support to thousands of young families along the Wasatch front. Dr. McElligott served as the Medical Director for Salt Lake County Youth Corrections providing care at the Salt Lake Valley Detention, Wasatch Youth, Genesis Youth, Decker Lake Youth, and Observation and Assessment Center from 1985-2009. She served on the Board of Directors for DDI Vantage (an early intervention program for disabled children) and the SIDS foundation Board. It was frustrating to hear her say, over and over again (right in front of child's face) that they were "stressed out". She was not calming and didn't use any practical techniques to calm them down. Maybe she had had 5 coffee's that morning. Total surprise that a Dr. wouldn't be applying simple children's psychology to help calm the child, rather than put them down in front of their face by saying negative comments and in no ways helping the child to relax. Never going back again. Strongly recommend against visiting. also, felt like we were just a number. very surprised at how little she seemed to actually grasp of child psychology. also talked about her instagram page, with her assistant talking her up. upon looking at it, it's clear that she's bought tons of followers. 20,000 followers, but the most recent post only has 100 likes. That's a clear sign of cheating the system. Phony.
