My mother is very well taken care of and I have zero worries about her care or needs at Avista. I've often visited on varying days of the week and at varying times and the level of care is always very good. They have many core staff members that have been there for the entire time (and longer) that my mother has been in their care. The current Executive Director has been in her current position longer than any other ED at this facility and has all of the staff and residents concerns at heart. The consistency, the cleanliness, the care, the food are all at the highest benchmarks in the industry. They also engage the residents in many activities from group exercises to arts and crafts to singalongs. I could not recommend Avista more highly and know that anyone's loved one would be very well cared for at this facility.

From the maintenance staff, cleaning staff, the chef at the cafe, activity coordinator, everyone knew my mom by name, were so friendly and helpful. In her last days, the nursing staff was attentive, kind, loving and treated her with dignity. Over the next few days, I toured all his suggestions, and came up with 3 "winners", and my friend chose the one she felt most comfortable with. If I hadn't moved him to this Beehive he probably wouldn't have lasted another 2 days. He arrived to his private room at the Beehive in the mid afternoon and by dinner time he was actually eating homemade soup and 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich. This was amazing to all because he had pretty much stopped eating prior to arriving. My brother constantly raved about Betty's home cooking. The staff was very attentive to my brother with all of his needs such as bathing, changing his brief promptly and making sure he had everything he needed. The entire place including residents rooms and common areas were kept clean and spotless at all time. There was never any odors as it always smelled clean and fresh. I really want to thank everyone at Beehive, Jayne, Sarah, Barbara, Betty and all the staff their that made my brother feel so special with their kindness and above and beyond care. I give much credit to the Beehive and my brother's physical therapist for my brother being able to no longer need hospice after only 4 months at Beehive and be able to move to a new assisted living where he has his own apartment and takes care of himself now. It is extremely rare that anyone graduates hospice. Thank you Beehive!

Well, I plucked my dad out of this godforsaken facility before they killed him! He is now in a…read morefacility where he thrives. He has energy because he is properly hydrated and nourished. He's incorporated into activities, spoken to, as though he's a human, rather than an object. His body is no longer purple from the waist up from the untrained, unskilled mishandling him. He's not dropped on the floor, not transferred inappropriately and not in bondage on the floor in all day long. He is beginning to walk again at 102 years old, his mental state is far better, as are his cognitive abilities. Woodmark administration is lousy, non-caring, non-responsive, non-accountable. I unfortunately left my father there for one year, believing he's self injured as I was told until he himself told me that he will not move or ask for anything because they hurt him, and he is scared for his life. I quickly removed him before they killed him, they demanded the next months rent anyway. I called APS and they failed to comply to their recommendations. Woodmark feels to distribute medication's timely and left my dad without morphine after being prescribed for injuries, they caused. Heartless! They do not chart properly, and his injuries do not match up with those that Hospice came in treated. I trusted them, and all they did was lie to me. I am so glad that I remove my father and put him somewhere where he now enjoys life. When I attempted to contact their corporate heads, which are national, they do not respond. It is their culture. This is their culture. It's a horrible money making machine off the backs of the helpless.

Laundry and cleaning are done on a weekly basis. The property is landscaped beautifully and provides a serene and inviting environment for residents to sit outside on the multiple patio areas. Residents have daily activities they can choose from such as a morning coffee chat or Boggle in the afternoon along with yoga once a week. Kimberly, the Community Relations Director, is on top of any issues that may come up and treats the residents and family as if they are a part of her own family. It is a true community and family.

The staff are warm and friendly, and extremely responsive to their residents, making sure that they are comfortable and safe. The rooms are cleaned, laundry is done on a weekly basis, beds are changed routinely, and the chef prepared meals are wonderfully delicious. There are daily activities, a wellness center for mild exercise, and a beauty shop and open patios where clients and family may enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Kimberly, the community relations director, goes out of her way to make sure that the transition from independent living is as smooth as possible, assisting both the client and the family. There is close communication between the staff and family members. This little jewel of a facility is located adjacent to the balloon fiesta park, nestled within established landscaping. It's a calm, inviting atmosphere for anyone. I highly recommend this facility for anyone.
